Week 13 tactics
- WBA tactics:
-------------------------------------Lafont--------------------------------------------
-----------------------Tah-------------------Sule-----------------Pepe--------------------
De Marcos--------------Weigl-------------------Vidal--------------------------Evra
----------------------------------------------Mertens----------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------Aduriz-------------------------------------------
Subs - Passlack
GAMEPLAN
Play possession football and try and break Boro down. We have a nice mixture of youth and experience in the starting 11.
DEFENCE
Reliable keeper in goal. Sule to mark their main striker and Tah and Pepe to do the covering. Wingbacks to make overlapping runs and get crosses into the box.
DefenceMidfield
Weigl and Vidal main role defend and cut passing lanes and close down attackers. Weigl will look to use playmaking ability to create chances. Vidal to use world class b2b ability to get forward aswell.
AttackMid
Mertens to play quick passes with teammates and make runs into box.
Strikers
Aduriz is classic old school striker. Very good at heading and real goal poacher. Want him use his attacking prowess to get on end of crosses and power headers in.
Subs
70mins Aduriz off Passlack on
v
- Middlesbro:
-------------------Valdes
Valencia----Van Dijk------Lindelof --- Tierney
--------------Locatelli-----Rabiot----
Dembele------------------------------Brandt
-------------Rashford------Origi
Subs - Konstantopolous, Barragan, Forshaw, Sims, Carrick, Stuani
Full on FIFA pace abuse is the plan, if they start Evra we're giving Dembele the ball every time and tearing him a new one.
Front 4 to stay forward, Rashford drop onto Weigl in midfield
Locatelli/Rabiot sit deep and pick up the bursts from midfield, use your passing range to get the ball forward quickly.
Rashford/Origi - occupy the CBs when we've got the ball, both quicker than Sule so look to run off him
Van Dijk to pick up the CF, Lindelof cover
FBs free to go forward one at a time, test their width in defence

Re: Week 13 tactics
- Burnley:
Burnley v Watford
Buffon
Zappacosta---Sanchez---Barzagli---Grimaldo
Dembele------Bakayoko
Oyarzabal-------------------------------Forsberg
-------Bernardeschi
Belotti-------
Subs: Robinson, Caricol, Elvedi, Alvarez, Davies, Hogan, Eggestein
Tactics:
Defence
High pressing game, winning possession high up the pitch.
Barzagli to mark main striker, Sanchez to pick up second striker or sweep up behind if spare.
Full backs to pick up wingers, force them wide or to cross from deep.
Dembele and Bakayoko protecting the back four, going box to box, covering each other.
Bakayoko to focus on Robben, rough him up and be there when he tries to cut inside.
Attack
Using high pressure game to win ball back and attack with pace & urgency
Forsberg and Oyarzabal wide, attack full back and get balls into the box. Swap sides to create confusion.
Dembele to pull strings from deep. Feeding the wingers and Bernardeschi.
Bernardeschi in free role role in behind Belotti, with freedom to roam try and create confusion for the new CB pairing.
Belotti the main focal point of the attack. Play off the shoulder, keep mobile to take advantage of new CB pairing and look to get on to through balls and crosses from out wide
Subs:
Alvarez for Sanchez on 65 mins, for fresh legs
If losing, Davies for Bakayoko on 70 mins to provide a bit more finesse in midfield
v
- Watford:
----------Pantillimon----------------
Janmaat—Prodl—Kaboul—Alonso
----------Capoue—Motta--------------
Robben-------Sarabia-------Amrabat
-----------------Immobile-----------------
Subs: Gomes, Mariappa, Holebas, Kolasinac, Behrami, Moses, Success, Sinclair.
Burnley like to press, keep the ball moving in possession
Robben I want you to push inside and pressure the CB’s looking to slide the ball into Immobile.
Sarabia will roam in and around the number 10 area of the final third and look to squeeze the ball through or spray the ball out wide.
Capoue and Motta will operate in front of the back 4 pressuring anyone who gets into that area of the field, looking to turnover possession.
Alonso - stick back a bit more than usual but still get forward in support
Janmaat to stay back and keep in the back four
Kaboul and Prodl – Don’t sleep on the ball, stand your ground and be strong
Immobile – Work towards the box and be alert, press the CB’s and win the aerial battles.
80th – Behrami on for Motta
85th – Moses on for Amrabat

Re: Week 13 tactics
West Brom v Boro
Result - 3 wins to Boro.
--------------
Burnley v Watford
Result - 3 wins to Burnley
- Voter A:
- Boro win - WBA has 10 players that's all you need to know Why not just play Passlack?
- Voter B:
- While Nadz puts in a creditable performance with 10 men, I just cannot see them winning this game. Rather than playing possession football I'd have like to see them sit deep and play long balls upfield myself. The Middlesbrough side is very good with the front four having a late of pace. Tierney is an awful left back but other than that a strong side.
- Voter C:
- Is CF back in charge?
Schoolboy error by Nadz to play with 10 men which is a real shame as I think Nadz has put together a really nice team now but just can’t give him the win due to that. Boro are a strong side but I’d perhaps be starting to look to improve the strikers over the coming weeks.
Result - 3 wins to Boro.
--------------
Burnley v Watford
- Voter A:
- Burnley win - Just likely to get at the injury hit Watford defence would of been better off with 3 at the back tbh Miky. If not going to play 3-4-2-1 then play Moses as a winger over Amrabat tbh. Afro's rebuild of Burnley continues to be awesome the right back/RCB seem a place to target for managers in future needs upgrading there tbh.
- Voter B:
- Burnley are another well balanced side, the wingers for me are where I'd look to improve along with right back. Obvious Watford say to keep the ball moving, but I'm not sure whether they could have taken a step further and be a bit more decisive tactically. Prodl and Kaboul at centre back is where I would worry about their side.
- Voter C:
- Man for man the teamsheets very much sway it in Burnley’s favour but Miky has scouted well to play against a pressing game. My one concern though for Miky is that he wants to play a passing possession game but currently imho doesn’t have decent enough personal to do it.
Result - 3 wins to Burnley

Re: Week 13 tactics
Need atm Nadz to just buy 2 1m players every week to fill your squad out or to do more domestics to add to it ie 2 for 1 deals.

Re: Week 13 tactics
I loved the substitution of taking off your lone striker for a RB, whatever!
You probably do need to focus on getting numbers in, rather than going big on big names, like Hero says.
