Senior Squads wrote:
The maximum squad size is 40 senior players. If a team has more than 40 players in their squad then they will be fined £1 million per player over the permitted amounts per day for the first seven days. If after 7 consecutive days a team still has more than the permitted number of players then the team will be fined £2 million per player per day, and fined 1 league point per player per day for the next seven days. If after this time a team still has more than the permitted number of players in their squad, the RFU (Fluxy) will remove players at its discretion to bring them back under the permitted numbers. There will be no right of appeal to players being removed.
Be aware that all tier one international matches which are played during the season will count in the game, and players selected in the match day 23's for those matches will not be eligible to play for their clubs on that weekend, therefore you must give due consideration to the make-up of your squad.
Academy Rules wrote:
Each team will be allowed to have an academy squad of 23 players. Players who are in the academy must be born on or after 1st September 1994.
Any player, who is at any Premiership club in real life, either in their senior, academy or AASE squads, can be bid for on the domestic bidding page. Players who are at your own club in real life and are coming through the academy system must be bid for if you want them in your own academy.
Transfers wrote:
- Domestic (other AP Teams)
Each team has a budget to use in the purchase of players. Domestic transfers between AP clubs, regardless of nationality of player, should be negotiated between the respective managers, and then confirmed on the Domestic Transfer Confirmation Page.- Domestic (Championship and below)
Each team may during the season purchase no more than 5 players from the Championship or the National Leagues. Worcester Warriors & London Wasps will receive two additional bids to be used exclusively on academy age players. These players must be bid for on the National League Bidding page, and each bid will be considered by the RFU on its own merits before being accepted or rejected. No bid will be accepted until a minimum of 24 hours has elapsed from the time the bid was made, in order to afford other managers the opportunity to make a counter bid.- Foreign
To make a foreign transfer (i.e. from any club outside of the AP, regardless of whether the player is English) a bid should be made by sending a PM to the RFU (Fluxy) and it will be considered by the RFU against the posted guidelines for purchase prices before being accepted or rejected. No bid will be accepted until a minimum of 24 hours has elapsed from the time the bid was made, in order to afford other managers the opportunity to make a counter bid.
There will be a summer foreign transfer window, which will run as follows.
Round Bidding
Open Bidding
Player Releases wrote:
Managers may choose to release players from their clubs, for which they will be offered compensation
Compensation will be paid as follows
£2 million – current international (must have played international rugby in the previous 12 months)
£1.5 million – former international
£1m – top flight experience
£0.5m – other
All released players will be deemed to have joined a Championship side and can be bid for on the National League Bidding page.
Retirements wrote:
There will be no compensation for retiring players. Should a player who retires decide to come out of retirement and play again, then he will automatically go back to the club who he was playing for in the game when he retired.
Fixtures wrote:
There will be 22 Aviva Premiership games per season, plus the play offs. There will also be European Rugby Champions Cup, European Rugby Challenge Cup and Anglo Welsh Cup matches. These games will take place once a week. A match thread will be put up every Monday. Home teams must be named by midnight on Tuesday. Away teams must be named by midnight on Wednesday. Failure to meet these deadlines is punishable by the addition of three match points to the oppositions final score, unless both sides fail to do so. Both teams must provide tactics by midnight on Thursday. Predictions will be open from 00:01 hours on Friday and remain open until 20:00 hours on Sunday. Managers will pm the scores that they think will happen from these games (apart from games in which they are involved). An average of all predictions will be taken, and then 0.5 points added to each teams score for each prediction that had them as the winner, and that will then be the final score.
Managers are asked to provide detail as to why they have predicted a result. To be considered a descriptive prediction this must be a full 3 lines long when entered into the text box.
Teams wrote:
When naming your team, not only should you put the starting XV and replacements, but also tactics that your team will employ. Results will be affected by the tactics described.
In addition, each team must have the following:-
For domestic competition at least 8 England qualified players in your match day 23, and at least 4 of those must be in your starting XV.
For European competition at least 8 England qualified players in your match day 23, and at least 6 of those must be in your starting XV.
At least 2 props and 1 hooker on the bench.
All players must be eligible (not injured or banned).
Failure to comply with these rules will result in a 1 league point deduction.
If you fail to submit a team for a match, then the other team will be automatically awarded a 30-0 bonus point win. If both teams fail to submit a team, then it will be scored as a 0-0 draw.
Injuries and Suspensions wrote:
Injuries in this game do NOT reflect real life, they will be generated by me.
Players banned in real life will be ineligible for selection in this game for the duration of the ban.
Inclusion of injured/banned players will result in them being replaced by players on the bench, and the bench not having eight players, which may result in punishment if it concerns the front-row.
Punishment for fielding an ineligible player will be loss of one match point.
Financial Rewards wrote:
There will be no rewards for the result of an individual match, instead the managers will receive cash for predicting.
£2m for descriptive predictions
£0.25m for scores on the doors predictions
Bonuses will be awarded on a scaled basis i.e. £2m for 5 games, £1.6m for 4 games and so on
If you fail to predict without first advising me that you are unable to do so that week, you will be fined £1m for a first offence, £2m for a second offence, £3m for a third offence etc upto a maximum of £5m per fine.

Haha, you do make me smile. To be fair to Saints fans they aren't the brightest bunch, lived with one for 2 years at uni, so they probably missed the fact that he was injured for 2 months this season, with what was a pretty serious injury.

I'd like to see Farrell/Te'o/JJ
suspect JJ might be the one to miss out though.
I'm hoping we see Daly or Watson at FB. Browns on the decline. Solid player still though.

Like to see Teo/JJ with Farrell at 10. Farrell the heartbeat of the side atm and deserves a run in his own position. Teo shown good impact off the bench. Be good to see JJ and the back three running off his offloading game

makes this league a bit more interesting as SH player form comes under scrutiny a lot more! helps for players that aren't quite internationals (ie James Lowe for me) but that tend to do very well in super rugby.

Expected Lowe to be an All Black by the AIs this year but Dagg & Smith both signed on. That big boot of his is tailor made for the All Blacks.

Anyone watching Pro12 lately? Love to hear what people make of Jacob Stockdale if they have seen him. Been tearing it up this season.

Thought he was the standout Irish lad at the JWC last year. Not seen much since, but he looks like a great prospect.

I don't watch any pro12 at all. infact this year I have watched considerably less rugby than previous years. mainly due to irish being in the Championship, it has meant i have paid less attention to the Prem. been to about 7/8 irish games but in all honesty they are pretty boring as you know they are going to win pretty comfortably.
enjoying the 6 nations so far though!

Reckon they might go Farrell and Teo'o midfield this time. JJ has been a little out of sorts in attack and think we desperately need a gain line breaker. Cant see Jones splitting the Ford/Farrell partnership. So far only Farrell and Daly have shone for us in the backline. Been impressed by both, personally think Farrell is putting himself in line for a shot of captaining the Lions.

Watch quite a bit of Pro12 seeing as it's free to air on BBC2 Wales and S4C. Been impressed with what I've seen of Stockdale. Guess that's one of my problems in this game is that I rate Pro12 players but rarely buy them now due to lack of coverage and ratings!!
Been watching a lot of Welsh premiership games too as a few of my mates are plying their trade up there now, some quality games in that league!

Re: Season 9 Homepage I
Afternoon everyone!
After a rocky week or so, it would seem that unfortunately Matt has deleted his account. As one of the long standing members of the game it is sad in the method that he has left.
However, this now leaves with a spare team in need of a new manager. I will caretake Gloucester in the mean time, until a suitable manager can come in. I would obviously like someone in by the foreign transfer window, so please do get the message around and keep the momentum up! The squad for Gloucester as is, and the transfer of players between Saints and Gloucester has been marked void - with agreement from Chris.
A good round of predictions as well from everyone, lets keep enjoying the game!

I can soundly say Prop has been after Gloucester from the moment he joined the game, it would be a fair reward as he's always ended up trying to improve lower teams (although Gloucester are hardly flying!).

Re: Season 9 Homepage I
Haven't done my 9 or 10s yet
9s:
Smith
Murray
Perenara
Webb
Then it gets complex - the form is so fluid for 9s, partly because they rely so much on the quality of ball to look good
An approximately equal and fluid group of Youngs, Care, Cubelli, Landajo, Marmion, Laidlaw, Phipps, Pienaar, De Klerk, Davies and even Gori who I think is excellent and underrated. Right now would probably say the order is roughly Laidlaw, Cubelli, Landajo, Youngs, Care, De Klerk but it's hard to pin down
Not a Machenaud fan.
On club form, Fotuali'i is up there (my player, but best 9 in the NH club scene on form right now) but not really doing a lot for Samoa so hard to include him. Same for Robson and Simpson. Baptiste Serin looks class to me but too early, on form right now at all levels he'd make my list very highly. Parra similar to Fotuali'i.

Sopoaga not far off at all, and I missed Foley who would slot in somewhere around Ford-Sexton
I see 12 and 13 as quite different, more so than 6/7, so for me 12:
Mostly relatively new players!
Henshaw
Fofana
Hodge
Leinart Brown
Farrell
De Allende
Fickou
Toomua - loses ratings due to not playing as recently!
Dunbar
Crotty
Van Rensburg has promise. I hope Godwin does too, and I like McClosekey
I feel like I've missed players out here too...

Wasn't a Jackson fan but he's looked really good recently filling in for an increasingly injured Sexton
Think Russell is class, has similar weaknesses to Ford but has adapted a bit better to them recently so a place above. Both Ford and Russell can be got at. but now days cope pretty well even when things are rough and create so much more than they cost. Just my opinion.
FTH somewhere in the good 10s section too...
And a fit LLF would be in the 12s section - heard he's in remission but will be tough for him to play again at all this season

Re: Season 9 Homepage I
Some good sides being named in the Super rugby this weekend. The Reds pack is almost unrecognisable to the one they had last season.

No takers on the Gloucester manager yet. I did post an article on the club forum but 0 comments so far.
If anyone is about could they make a comment so it gets bumped up.

That rebels team does not look too great for tomorrow. Working from home tomorrow morning so may have two laptops on the go!

DTH signs on with Watson going to Wasps.
Some cracking backs signed on for next season, genuinely excited!
DTH, Mermoz, Matavesi x 2

See Isa has had his contract terminated and is off to Lyon. Leaves a pretty big hole in the Jaguars backrow for super rugby

Matavesi has done well at Ospreys since his burst on to the scene. I think he is a better option at 12, although he would be good cover for 10.

He provides a different option, which isn't a bad thing! Hodgson has really turned it on as of late

certainly building a decent squad though. after all the years of pretty poor rugby, no offence, and being at the wrong end of the table, albeit avoiding relegation, you are due a stint at the right end of the table which you seem to be heading towards now.

Doesn't start at Toulon till next season Flux. Due to sign for Lyon as a medical joker for the rest of this season now

Didn't really see that happening, Jones is pretty bold. Assuming Ford will drop to the bench with Farrell, Teo'o and Daly in midfield. Great to have Watson back. Teo'o and impact from Mako off the bench should really sort out the gain line problem.

Or Ford, Farrell, Teo, Daly at 15, but that seems less likely

Re: Season 9 Homepage I
Tough on JJ, but if you were going to play Daly at 13 against anyone it would be the Italians.

The selection against Scotland will be far more informative than against Italy.

Rebels not the best under the high ball!! Already starting with a fairly high scoring first half!
