Allow wheeling in the scrums
I've noticed that wheeling is not allowed in the scrums. I don't understand why. I think the IRB should allow wheeling in the scrums.

Re: Allow wheeling in the scrums
Second post that is effectively trying to get rid of traditional forward play, why not allow the ball to be passed forward, let players obstruct the tackler.
Wheeling is against the laws to try and keep scrums safe and allow clean possession from scrums, thus making a more attractive game.
If you ask the question, I wonder if you have played and if you did in what position?

Good point well made. Instead of wasting your time here why not write to the IRB with your proposal; i feel sure they will treat your revelation with the gravity it deserves.

I think WELL-PAST-IT is right. Wheeling is dangerous and it's important to have clean possession from the scrums.

He's not the only thing that's dangerous.

The rule devalues the need for a solid and well drilled pack!
The ability to manipulate your opposite number synchronized with the prop on the other side is a real art form that will be completely lost from the game.
You have specialists in those positions - wheeling in itself is not dangerous - deliberately collapsing a scrum because you are on the back foot is....that is what needs to be combatted.

I think it would be wise to ignore international's posts. They aren't serious. He has created two new threads on taking away an important aspect from the game, then after one response he changes his mind to agree with the rebuttal.
A mildly amusing troll, I guess.

Ah let him at it. It couldn't be seasonal Pantomime 'bad-guy' Grey Ghost having a laugh, could it?

Wheeling is legal up to 90 degrees if it goes past this it SHOULD be a reset, but more often
where teams don`t attempt to hook.It is a penalty to either side whatever the REf decides.

Depends if the wheel is intentional.

Isn't this back to a Ref deciding 'intention'. That's all he can do but that's always where the schidt hits the fans with refs.

In my day, you had to push straight, I am not aware of any changes to the laws that have altered that.
