His been spending too much time playing Fifa at home instead of down his local park kicking like Wilko used too.
Congratulations. It had been at least 6 hours since an England rugby fan mentioned Jonny Wilkinson.....
Should Farrell miss out, I do think England will cope fine. Either Slade or Teo would do a decent job at 12.
We should mention Dan Parks for balance...
Re: 6N 2017: England vs Scotland
So was Wilkos try vs Scotland a few years back really a try or was he in touch?

Build up to this game has felt rather long...
I may have a problem finding time to watch this though - it's my daughter's 5th birthday tomorrow and we have family visiting, so I suspect we may be out and about doing stuff on Saturday afternoon. Will record the game, but then have the difficulty of avoiding the score until I get time to watch it (probably after everyone else is in bed.

One of the worst decisions ever made - he was so far in touch and the ball so far away from being touched down - that fact it went to the TMO and they still gave it, was criminal - they should be sacked

Fixed.
I had my daughter's sixth birthday last Sunday so luckily it didn't clash with anything. Absolutely no-way I would have shirked the task or organising it for a rugby match though.
Due to a disagreement with my wife about my other daughter's birthday in January, I ended up doing absolutely everything for this one. All the food including cake, party bags, decorations and party games. At least 2 days of solid work but definitely worth it.

The try awarded to Ben Smith vs Ireland in Chicago was equally bad. Half his leg was in touch.

Ah but was the TMO mistake any worse than the Scottish fringe defence. They made the break by Ellis pretty easy to do.

yes, he had multiple time to look at his mistake
Our defence only had the one opportunity to be completely rubbish :-)

I think you'll find that Scotland had approximately 2,193 opportunities to be rubbish in defence between the years 2000 and 2016, and took every single one of them. At least we have been consistent.
Scottish rugby, RIP January 1st, 2000; resurrected March 11th 2017.
Had to post - loving the banter on this thread

Re: 6N 2017: England vs Scotland
PS I think this is the first match I've ever looked forward to in Scottish rugby history (I started watching in, yep, 2000). No feeling of doom or dread associated with either having expectations we "should" win but probably won't (against teams like Italy of recent past) or feeling of doom or dread associated with knowing we're about to get our asses handed to use (against most other teams of recent past).
We may get thumped (we may not) but even if we get thumped I'm sure we'll play well. Even if we don't play well, we've played pretty well throughout the tournament up until that point. It feels good.
Also Spring is slowly coming round.

5 test tries in a year and half in his prime
Post 2002 ...that was the only one. And it shouldnt have counted.
Just goes to show how much getting repeatedly beaten up by South Africans took out of him.

As someone with a 3pm kick off, I'm going to find it difficult to watch the first half without tactically pulling a hamstring.
Now split between recording the game at home and rushing straight home for my game, or going into the clubhouse and trying to pick up on the second half. Neither ideal.
