UK General Election/Politics
First topic message reminder :
Here's a possible thread for it all, despite the lack of political input from me to start it!
Mods if you want to/can cut and paste the recent obviously political "discussions" from the Anything Goes, here might serve?

I totally agree with you on farron, but felt I wanted to vote for a party that opposed bee it. Sadly Labour/corbyn seem quite happy to let the tories have free reign over brexit.
Don't think so Mac, yes both Labour & Tories were committed to Brexit, the fundamental difference tho is that Labour want the negotiations to be focussed on workers & jobs whereas the Tories would focus on protection of the vested interests of big business. As for the Lib Dems they are unfortunately stuck in a spring 2016 time warp, they need to move on. The SNP have had their slap on the face, quite simply they have been stuck in an autumn 2014 time warp, hopefully the slap from Davidson will kick indyref2 into the long grass for at least a generation.

Re: UK General Election/Politics
With Labour now having an alleged 6 point lead in the polls I think we can rest assured there won't now be a repeat election any time soon.
Amusing watching the Tory grandees all trotting out to the cameras to reassure the nation that May has been statesman like and the whole party is behind her. Jesus if ever a polygraph was required on live TV!!

Re: UK General Election/Politics
Was listening to the EU's assistant negotiator talk about the upcoming negotiations. She was so articulate considering English was not her first language. Spoke so much sense about the fact that negotiation should not be adverserial and both sides would benefit from a good outcome (or at least suffer as little as possible). Also explained why no deal really wasn't an option in terms of business uncertainty.
She basically summarised brilliantly, something nobody from any party in the U.K. has managed to do. When you hear May's aggressive rhetoric it really is pathetic in comparison to this ladies approach.

Sabine Weyand was her name, I wish we had a few like her on our side.

Re: UK General Election/Politics
Interesting stuff gents.
It will settle down over next few weeks but Tories will have to be very careful in their work over the next term, may be no bad thing.
Hopefully JC will retire in the interim and Sturgeon will step aside for someone with a little more common sense.
Got my referral for a new hip today so got to sit and see how long I have to wait. Then just may be able to get back on the course if labour had promised new hips in two weeks I would have voted for them
