All these silly little passes around their own penalty area from City add absolutely nothing to the potency of the team. I don't get it.

I could watch tackles like that all day long. Damn the pussification of Association Football.

Re: The 6th Place Trophy - The 2017/18 Premier League Thread
I'm clutching at straws slightly and taking nothing away from the silva assist, but should the official have pulled the free kick back to be retaken. I'm all for keeping a game flowing, but city have taken a free kick quickly catching Bournemouth off guard (which they're entitled to do) but the free kick was taken about 6ft further upfield from where the foul took place. Surely that should have been pulled back?
Might be the biased United fan in me though
Although to show I ain't totally biased ake should have been sent off. No way anybody was beating jesus to that loose ball as cover

I'm unsure about our selection today, Rice and Fernandes in midfield away at Newcastle. Obiang is fit and both Kouyate and Lanzini could be worth 45 minutes. I'd have left Rice and taken Fernandes for Obiang.

How I've read the game, although I think Newcastle should be given credit for how hard they've worked. Not on form but they're earning the right to play. We're not.

That tackle on Knockheart was the worst I have ever seen in a live game. Utterly ridiculous. I do love how the Watford booed Knockheart after, how dare he almost have his career ended with a horror tackle.

What is going on at city? Ageuro getting involved with a steward, putting his hands on a police officer whilst trying to get back and have another go at the steward then Fernandinho pushes the police officier. Madness.

David Moyes is making noises about a return to the PL. Fans of West Ham, Palace etc...be afraid, be very afraid.
He says Conte wouldn't have even kept Sunderland up last season. Maybe not but I bet they'd have given it a go, Dave.

Didn't Gus Poyet manage to keep Sunderland up?
Ah well, it's never the managers fault. Expect plenty of praise and pats on the back when they are successful, but there's always someone else to blame when they're not.

Got to admit I'm enjoying La Liga spitting it's dummy out on behalf of Barca and Real over clubs breaching ffp.
A league with 2 clubs effectively bankrolled by state banks who monopolize all revenue streams.

At best you can say it is reckless, which equals a yellow card.
But it's not violent or using excessive force, so it shouldn't be a red.
Not over for Liverpool; City's defence has been diabolical.

Manchester City sensational attacking players. Whereas Liverpool got average players up top. That's the difference

I support Arsenal and this City attack is up with Arsenal's side that had Pires, Henry, Bergkamp Wiltord. And obviously I'm only talking about English football. Not the foreign leagues.Good Golly I'm Olly wrote:Nathaniel Jacobs wrote:Manchester City sensational attacking players. Whereas Liverpool got average players up top. That's the difference

City are perhaps the best attacking side in England, maybe United can rival them if Mourinho really goes for it. But which Liverpool attacker gets into the City side? None of my money.GSC wrote:I give City the edge but average is more than slightly harsh.
