Can we all make sure we are releasing players at the TM price that they were frozen at minus 25%

It is a bit. Good luck Bam btw.
What do we reckon about the number of players pulling out from the England games?

I've been pondering what to do in my game against Hero. Genuinely has me stumped.

I’m actively rooting against England until the FA take their heads out their backside and actually appoint a good manager and not a “yes” man

We discussed it on the podcast last night, I proposed that any sicknotes/withdrawals should have to be signed off by a FA doctor rather than through the parent club.

Re: Challenge League Homepage II
If I am honest I have only had a fleeting look at the stories coming out (or just the headlines), but let us take Kane as an example. Now I am not slagging him off because I don't know the full story, but he pulls out of the England squad and is manager says he will be fit to face Arsenal??? I suppose his seat on the plane is a given though.
But then we have Dier - not guaranteed to be part of the squad and missing on opportunities to put forward his case......and he pulls out. I just don't get it.
On one side you have the argument of why we give out caps so easily. On the other I would love to call up the likes of Noble for instance. Players that would love to be part of squad and would give any match 100%.

Any players who pull out should be forced to eat 100 poppies a game for every game they miss imo

Wouldn't work. The FA could be sued for millions by the Premier League club if they sign off a player as fit and he breaks down injured. Whole minefield there.

Re: Challenge League Homepage II
Halfway house of the player could still withdraw, but the FA and player would know they weren't genuinely injured.

Start invoking the rule that if you pull out then you miss the next game or 2 for your club.

Re: Challenge League Homepage II
How about this for an idea.......our own January transfer window.
All teams are given 10m by their board but this money can only be used for or as part of domestic transfers and has to be used in January.
Not sure what happens when money changed hands and whether or not that person could then use it for foreigns. Maybe it goes into the Jan window pot of that team so it gives them more money to go towards domestics?
What do you think?

Im going to say no.
Simply because the amount of money people will make off players at the end of the season is going to be huge enough.

We shouldnt have to pump money in to encourage domestics either

Re: Challenge League Homepage II
I do like Twists idea, but Miky is right. The fact that the transfermarkt values will be unlocked at the end of the season means that there will be astronomical values coming in and we're going to be seeing all the top players in the league at the start of season two.

Re: Challenge League Homepage II
Good point. I just thought with the movers in January certain players would become more valuable that are already in the league. For that reason people may want to bid more for them than they would be willing too now. Thought it would be a fun little January thing while the real window is live.
In regards to season 2 I would have another cap. Up it to 40m TM values. That way if players do become more expensive, like Jesus, we can still only bring in a certain number of players.

I'd agree to the cap staying in place but not as low as £40m

Think I agree with Marky. There’s only 30-35 players between 30m and 40m

And there's nobody between £45m and £54m (a handful of £54m players), so the season 2 cap should be either £45m or £55m IMO.

Re: Challenge League Homepage II
Anyone looking to watch some entertaining football, try and find highlights of Belgium 3-3 Mexico.
Aside from two great goals from my boy Lozano, and a goal that sums Lukaku’s control up to a tee (miscontrolled it on his thigh and it rolled in), it is a great match and some brilliant football. Especially Hazard and De bruyne.

Having thought about it over the weekend I'm not too sure about this. I think most teams have cleared the decks and got in the players they could. Now they want to keep those players until season 2 or only get rid with much bigger offers. I dont think there will be many domestic transfers now as there is no money being made to make it happen.
I think "something" involving the January transfer window would be really good. The league won't die but it might end up just going through the motions until season 2.

Has anyone heard of this football manager game? Seems to be causing quite a stir.
Is it any better than FIFA career mode?

Yeah Football Manager. I've never played it myself, but it's all over social media.
Does anyone here play it?

Isn’t football manager what used to be championship manager?
I though championship manager got bought by some big software business and the two guys (Collyer brothers?) started doing footballmanager instead

Re: Challenge League Homepage II
From wiki
On 12 February 2004, after splitting from publishers Eidos Interactive, it was announced that Sports Interactive, developers of the Championship Manager game, had retained the rights to the source code but not the rights to the title Championship Manager, which were held onto by Eidos (who previously acquired the brand rights from Domark upon their merger in 1995). These developments led to a further announcement that future Sports Interactive football management games would be released under the famous Football Manager brand name. Whilst the Championship Manager series would go on, Eidos no longer had any source code, or, indeed a developer for Championship Manager.

Have you got FM18 Maggle? Started a career yet?
Started my Rochdale career on Friday night - am 3rd in League One after 27 games, right in the promotion hunt. A lot more placed on tactical briefings, managing players workloads to prevent injuries etc this year - I like it. Proper management.
Also players can come out as gay. Any of my players who do so will be transfer listed immediately. Can't be having my guys more focused on the showers after the game than the game itself

It was a simpler time. Using the old touch pad phone to try and convince Keith Curle to join your team when he was out of contract

I used to as well take part in a play by mail football manager game. Cost something like £2 per week and I had to physically post my tactics every week and I'd then receive back a week later the results and the form for the following game!
