I've been helping my Mum pack stuff up; she's going to sell the house. For the last 7 years we've been looking for some old photos we knew we had... turned everything upside down but no luck. Until the day before yesterday - I found more than I expected... about 20 of them.

Some of my grandfather on the Isonzo front c.1916 cooking up some shells to be fired upon the Italians. He looks quite calm and relatively happy considering the scale of the bloodbath it was. He lived to a ripe old age and eventually died on the northern beaches here at Mona Vale around the time Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band album was released.

Good morning the both of you.

The cool change arrived here yesterday. A frigid 22 degrees now but it feels more like 18 or 19. It's the first break in the heat since about October last year. Never had so many +40 degrees in a summer before. You can survive without clothes so easily. Just keep close to water.

I suppose that means your winter will start to slowly warm up now. Enjoy the sun when you can.

Been watching loads of old Countdown re-runs... going back to 1975-1985. Some of the guests are interesting. Iggy Pop was off his face... bouncing around on the chair half naked. Great viewing that. Lots of arsheholes too; just like when I saw them originally way back then.

Lots of them are dead now too. Some quite recently.
Funny.. I had to get my leg checked at a specialist and went past the Young brothers old home - 4 Burleigh St Burwood.
It's now a doctor's surgery freshly painted but that front window would be the original one they could open and close to let the groupies in.

Yes, it was a music show based out of Melbourne.
Our own version of Top of the Pops but hosted by an idiot who traipsed around the world interviewing rock and pop stars.
The same guy fell off a roof a few years ago... not sure if he is still all there?

Yeah, it's funny how time flies.
They have the dates under the song and artist. I can remember the exact time for many episodes and cringing at certain moments which I have recently seen again this last week. I always think that young kid in the crowd would now be the same age as me... if he's still around.

That's pretty much what 8 out of 10 cats does countdown is about. Though as with all comedy quiz show it's past its peak and is now just a shop window for sh*t comedians.
