Glasgow-based surgeon Andy Renwick told BBC Radio Scotland on Thursday that one colleague walked from Anniesland to Paisley - almost eight miles - to operate on a cancer patient.
"I won't give her name because she would be genuinely upset with me," he said.
"She walked from Anniesland to Paisley - it took her two hours and 50 minutes. I saw her come in, she had snow goggles on, Gortexed up, top and bottom, snow shoes and walking poles."

Was tolerable, took Galtich on public transport for the first time and he shut the f*ck up for the duration so we were very proud parents.
On the downside, bought a PS4 pro recently and trying to get the hang of Witcher 3 but Galtova keeps on about how stupid it is and finding reasons to walk in front of the screen.

Not bad at all cheers, mainly drink and sport so all good.

Mrs D enjoyed playing the Witcher with me so we played that to death happily, a great game.

Saw the sun on the way in to the station for the first time in months. There's a surly dog walker I sometimes see on the way - we usually nod to each other but today he said 'not so sh*t now, innit?', or words to that effect.

I'm fine thanks. Got some Czech guests who leave tomorrow.
A hint of autumn but still pretty warm here.

The footy season begins tonight (in a few hours). So more listening to shouting of superlatives and frequent examples of lazy English will be hard to avoid... unless I abstain from watching it altogether. I still follow about 4 or 5 teams across the various codes but don't watch every one of their games.
