WBC Making Up Its Own Rules
You've got to feel for Dillian Whyte. He was effectively made into the WBC No.1 contender for Wilder's title by becoming their Silver beltholder after beating Helenius. He then destroys the unbeaten (and frankly a bit overrated) Lucas Browne in spectacular fashion and has earned the right to call out any of the HW contenders and Wilder. So what does the WBC do? Makes Dominic Breazeale its No1 contender and orders Whyte to face the just beaten Ortiz for the right to become next in line after Breazeale.
Breazeale? FFS. Joshua battered him for 7 rounds. Mansour won every round against him before a freak injury forced him to quit. Since Joshua he's struggled with Izuagbe Ugonoh (yup, me neither) hitting the floor before knocking him out, and being deeply unimpressive against HW title fight underachiever Eric Molina. He hasn't fought since November last year. So therefore he HAS to be their No1 contender?
Boxing needs to take a long hard look at itself. If Wilder fought Whyte in England he'd make more money than he would fighting Dominic "Who the **** Are You" Breazeale in the US. I just don't get it.
The upside to this for Whyte is that he's also in contention for the No1 spot with IBF and needs to face off against Pulev to get a shot at Joshua. I think we all know which path he's going to take.

Totally agree mate, its a disgrace in any other sport or business it would be seen as possible corruption and they would be called into question in Boxing its just accepted and everyone moves on. It seems to me they know what a threat Whyte would be to the huge sanctioning fees of a AJ V Wilder fight and dont want to risk losing that golden egg on something as silly as their own rules and fair play.

Completely agree with everything you said.
Only thing to add is Ortiz just lost then goes straight into an eliminator which if he wins means he No 1 contender so could fight Wilder twice in 3 fights despite losing the first. What could be even worse if Brezealle was to get injured Ortiz could win the eliminator then fight wilder again so Wilder would have 2 consecutive fights with Ortiz. It is just completely stupid. And like you say Whyte beats Helenius and Browne but now only in the eliminator. It is just completely unfair, in fact it is ridiculous.
Only thing I can think of is they are protecting Wilder so they get the big commission for the Joshua fight. Risky as Ortiz has shown he can trouble Wilder.

Agree with what's been said. Clearly protecting the big money fight. Wilder vs Whyte could go either way. No heavy favorite in that one.

All a bit of a joke....but its not new really
Like WBC have always been quite inconsistent and imo are actually the worst of the 4 belts, despite it largely being regarded as the most prestigious
Either way its pretty poor, gotta feel for Whyte. Not a fan of him but he's done what he was told to do, so should be given a chance

A drugs cheat like Dillian Whyte should never get the opportunity to fight for a prestigious championship like the WBC heavyweight championship of the world. Whyte's claim to fame is getting pancaked by Joshua. Bore off Dillian
