Not quite sure this true. How would you explain my position at the top?

I think it is better to decide a structure and formation and buy the best players for it. Not just constantly improve to get a mish mash of Galeticos.

But I would argue you don't have the best players you could in those positions. Just the best you can afford now. You could buy better in a lot of positions, who have the same strengths, just stronger on them(if that makes sense). And what about back-up - surely that can be improved

Yes it does make sense but for me it depends. I look for a few notable traits that my players have and that I think are essential in the positions i want to play them in. There are players on here, rated higher but in the same position, that I would turn down. It is the same the other way - I bet I have players that people would never think to bid on but are actually immense in their position. Look at Lukaku over the course of the season for me, especially in the last game. Rated 77 and cost me £7m. I would have him over pretty much any LB in the league.

I also search based on traits I want in those positions, but I also look at what the strengths the alternatives bring me and see how I can adapt my tactics to utilise those strengths.

Kind of horses of courses, but if I do find a significantly better horse, I'm ready to go to a different course that suits him more!!

I have only really got to grips with that and custom tactics in the last couple of weeks, so I'm hoping it bears fruit soon.

Ah good

Was a really good game to watch! I thought my team looked stronger barring that early goal, think I need to dial up the shooting tactics a bit as they were going a bit too Arsenal and trying to walk it in for my liking

Fabinho and Kante were really good, Newcastle really struggled to get past them

Also watched the other game, but will wait till I know both managers know the result to comment

For your game Bam I thought early on that Nadz had you as there were gaps galore for him to exploit but Kante and Fabinho got their act in gear after that.
Ronaldo was pretty much a spectator in that game, for me I don't think he suits being the main striker as he's not seeing enough of the play.
Spine of your team is just so solid now.

I'd like to have another go at your midfield now I've got Pogba in, him, Nainggolan and Hamsik v Kante, Fabinho & Viera sounds a great tussle.

Ronaldo was dominating in the air against Boateng early on, but weirdly it seemed to be him against Koulibaly the rest of the game, and he went very quiet

Viera is one of my main players I want to upgrade on, but he's been very good

Was a good game between me and bam. I had soooooo many chances to hit the oppo on the counter attack but bam's players were getting back to defend like crazy. Can't believe my team didn't even make one substitution ffs!

At least Ronaldo got an assist tho Cool

Well played then Nando Ok!

I'm getting really frustrated, mainly with myself furious

In my head what I'm doing make sense, and in fairness the player ratings I'm getting are improving, but I'm just not getting them playing how I imagine in my head Laugh

Anyway, we keep learning, so on to next week. Nice easy one against Bam's form side

Nando and I discussed it afterwards, thoughts were that whilst you're playing a conventional 4 at the back they're perhaps not the best FBs to use for it and they'd be better used in a 3-5-2 formation.

For Bam:

[*]Filipe Luis - £9m - 86 (Atletico Madrid)

I'm probably going to regret this further, but you probably need to draw me another instead of Verdi.

I have a lawyer for him that I will be accepting and in normal weeks this would have to be before injuries are drawn.

So I shouldn't be benefiting from having early injuries.

Always wondered about that. How does this work? So if someone was 81 but 78 in a different position would it be minus 3 for all their stats (like strength, shot power etc.)

If not, is there any way you can calculate what hit you are taking this way?
