Just watched it.
My side are Arsenal as f*ck
With the ball, we look really good. Like Arsenal.
Without the ball, we're really bad. Like Arsenal.

Im getting the softest penalties. That’s the third one recently where I couldn’t work out what it was for.
Reus could have had another 2 goals, I’ve found a system that suits him.

Just to explain how soft I thought your penalty was, I thought the ref had given a free kick to me

Re: Challenge League Homepage VI
I had a similar one against Nadz.
No matter how many times I’ve watched I still can’t work out what it was for.
Reus up to 7 goals now though and leading scorer in the league

2nd half was probably my best performance of the season. The Silva goal was real class.

Yep completely passed me by. Welcome mistake though as the game was awful. Might end up losing a point but hopefully the game will be more entertaining!

My game is well worth seeing just for the second half. A first goal that could have been offside, a second from outside the box and an absolutely blinding goal saving tackle right at the end.

Re: Challenge League Homepage VI
As this season is now drawing to a close we need to decide upon the format properly for season 3.
I'm away for the week of the 10th-17th August (Friday to Friday).

Re: Challenge League Homepage VI
Seems pretty sensible to start season three when you're back then?
The last week of games would be the weekend of 4/5 August, would give us two weeks break before s3.
We need to decide what the cut off date will be for TM values, and how many games the 3rd season will be
My preference would be to run a shortened season then go for FIFA 19 with a view to a longer running game, but I know many disagree so happy to go with the majority

I can always do tactics up front and just have it changed for injuries, the same as Bam has done before, in the weeks I am away.
But it would be good to get a plan of how long a season, when it starts, what lawyers, foreigns, releases are allowed etc we will do in the meanwhile

Re: Challenge League Homepage VI
My thoughts are:
Length of season - same as season 2
Week 1 start date - 21st August, first tactics on 24th
Date of TM value refreeze - 13th August (allows one set of lawyers at old price and one at new before the season starts)
Lawyers/TPs/Releases - same as normal, two per week

Re: Challenge League Homepage VI
My personal preference:
Length of season - no home & away, half current season length. Current length starting on 24th August would see it ending on 28th December...unless we're planning to swap over mid season to FIFA 19?
Okay with the other proposals Afro referenced.
Also though wish to add in injuries/cards into games as think they only add to a game rather than detract from it.

Re: Challenge League Homepage VI
Yes, I'm willing to go either way on season length but we have to stick with FIFA 18 for the duration imo
On injuries / cards, are we saying those would be in addition to the weekly injuries we draw?
Suspensions probably makes sense, something like 2/3 yellow cards for a player to mean a ban? This would mean that someone would need to keep track, given how well that went for the player ratings earlier in the season is it likely to work?

Re: Challenge League Homepage VI
Injuries and cards wise are really minimal when I've tested them, for me it's more that it'll take into consideration players that are injury prone or those that can be a bit reckless more, so those with high aggression will be more at risk.

Re: Challenge League Homepage VI
Would also depend on what kind of injury - ie there's the little sticky plaster injury or the game ender
I'm assuming only the game ender would have an impact on the next game

Re: Challenge League Homepage VI
I'm happy to allow injuries and cards, three yellows or a red = 1 game suspension for the following week, and if someone is injured during the game they get subbed off by the CPU but are fine the following week.
I think we shouldn't change to Fifa 19 mid season so I'm inclined to go with Hero's idea with that. I say that because there will be some players in Fifa 18 that won't be in Fifa 19.

Yep only game enders result in next game injury so that's really few and far between unless I ramp up the injury levels.
I'll trial a few tonight with the injury rating to see what's a good level.

I'd not allow game enders to roll over into the following week personally if we already have injuries.

Re: Challenge League Homepage VI
A 9 week season would take us the 26th October which I reckon is a good time to swap over to FIFA19. It'd allow me a good few weeks to get my head round any changes and if we do a draft the time to amend squads for it.

My preference is a higher injury rating and remove the injury draw each week. Then the injuries come from the team done therefore encourages squad building and it's another thing that removes any concern of rigging etc (not that I am suggesting this occurs).

I'd suggest limiting it to 3 total injuries, so if you have a game ender then you only get drawn 2 in the normal way
Alternatively just be savage with it and its tough titties

Or that.
So you could lose none of your starting 11 or 3 / 4 in a week

Can I also suggest using Google sheets as team lists and to keep track of transfers. I sent a format Afro and Hero. It just makes things neater

Re: Challenge League Homepage VI
I'm happy with a 9 game season. Seems to make sense with the FIFA 19 change over really.
For a short season I wouldn't bother changing injuries and cards. Seems pointless changing it and needing to track it which just creates extra work. Like Bam said, doing player ratings didn't work as no one could put the time in, so why create more work.

You are, just like you update your page currently. Transfers and budget can be easily tracked then....no going through loads of pages to find if a player is available.
Plus a runner can allocate bonuses.

Given how good people were at updating player ratings, I have 0 confidence that anything on Google sheets will be updated by more than 50% of the league

Might be a good time to trial injuries and cards rather than sticking them in for a full season when starting up a new game

The only way to make sure of it is to say that no transfer has been completed until its updated on the google doc - if people start losing out on players because they haven't confirmed it on there, then it might actually get done
All that does is annoy anyone who loses out, and there will be many tantrums

I think it's an easier and evolved way to how we do it now. Let's face it not everyone keeps their transfer logs up to date like they are supposed to!

Yep, I don't do it on here, but I track my budget on an excel spreadsheet (I am that sad)
Doing it twice is just a faf, on top of making my transfers and confirming them on the two pages here
What if we had lawyers, foreign transfers page and releases page on here as normal, but all confirmations are made on the Google Doc?

I can definitely see the benefits behind both the injuries/cards, and tracking transfers on Google Docs.
But from past experience I just see it creating more work for a few and ultimately not achieving what it is designed to do.

I wouldn’t call it lazy. It’s a game and some are happier with simple and something that doesn’t take up much of their time, whilst others prefer something more sophisticated and will therefore put the time in for it.

You see with a Google Docs confirmation page you wouldn't have to do it twice. You just have a column which says domestic or foreign.
Done properly, you wouldn't even need to keep track of transfers on your page. Just saves work all round by keeping everything in one place.
