A quick question for the Man Utd fans like myself. Who would you prefer to win the Premier League, Liverpool or Man City?

That's easy, Man City. Might as well keep the trophy in the city.

Well, I'm a very happy chappy as Utd lead Cardiff 1-3 away.
I'm hearing nothing but good things about Utd from the kick off.
Keep it going lads and nice one Ole!

Tottenham are a superb value bet at 20/1 to win the league. It might just be the most thrilling race in years. There again, it might not be. But the thrill is in the anticipation.

On one hand, Liverpool winning the title again could make them be able to go on a run of titles, pulling even then ahead of United with titles won. Man City on the other hand, have only five titles, and it'll take them many years for them to catch United. But I'm usually a person who wants the underdog to win, and in this race it's Liverpool. Plus I have to admit, I'd have a very small smirk on my face if Perfect Pep couldn't deliver a title this year.

A few weeks ago I was thinking City could go the whole season without a loss. Now it's three losses in their last four games for City.

Anybody who doesn't want City to win the title over Liverpool who isn't a Liverpool needs their heads checked. Everything must be done to stop them winning the title and hearing about it from their fans forever...where's Sergio Ramos when we need him

I’d like to see Liverpool win the league.
They’ve never won it before, been close.
Rather then than Spurs or City for me.
Be nice to see a different team win it other than your Manchester’s, Chelsea Arsenal and the one Leicester triumph.
I prefer Liverpool to Spurs anyway.

Wow, just when you start to believe in Spurs they go and have a result like they did today, a 3-1 loss to Wolves.

Probably the only decision the club have got right, since SAF left. Inevitable that they would win three on the bounce. Still think Pogba et al have been a disgrace, irrespective of the inferior opposition.

Pogba I think quit on Jose (not that I blame him after being called a virus by him)
The rest however I don't think quit, just the tactics where atrocious. Out of 20 games this season we've scored 29.26% of league goals under Ole....in just 3 games. I understand that Jose highlighted that we weren't great defensively but he also never really appreciated the talent we have going forward either. Even Matic who was very much a Jose guy looks like a new man, passes forward and everything because players are allowed to attack

I didn't think that Liverpool played that bad. It was a tough game for both sides and City managed to find the net twice.

When you are born losers like Klopp, Henderson etc you are always gonna get exposed. As if those clowns could emulate the great Wenger side.
When does the mediocre Salah do it against the top sides?

That's appalling news for Huddersfield. Wagner is a great manager, though, no doubt things will work out for him.
And I suppose the same tired, uninspiring list of candidates will be touted for Huddersfield - Allardyce, Hughes, Pardew, Moyes, Redknapp etc.

Kane out for two months, and Son away on national duty. Top 4 finish will be under threat.

Thankfully Huddersfield. - a very well run club, credit to the game - have made an excellent appointment and stayed away from the usual drivel.

Re: 2018/19 Premier League Thread - Jose’s Difficult Third Year
Here's my prediction regarding Ole Solskjaer.
Due to Tottenham losing their last game and Ole currently on his 7th straight victory, I predict that Ole will get the permanent Man Utd managers job.
Maurizio will probably go to Real Madrid considering his options.
Some Utd players, past and present seem to think that Ole is the favourite.
I personally hope he gets the job considering his effect on the players, staff and everyone in general.

Unless there is some sort of calamity with the United team between now and the end of the season, I think Ole will get the job full time. Also with the rumours that United are looking for a Director of Football, they need a manager who believes in playing the "United Way". Ole seems to meet all the criteria needed.

I think he's done an alright job with them, really. Think of how it spiralled; that won't happen under Puel. He's not always pretty, but he's not dull either. I think his demeanour tricks people. That Wolves game for example: they went for it till the end.
Sadly, I think he's been a little scarred by the Southampton experience. In the end, a cup final for him in that job didn't do him any favours when he'd done a very good job there (as can be seen from the shambles ever since). Not only that, he's managed a club that has had a really difficult time this season, uniquely. I think that they haven't basically lost it this season is a credit to him.

Solskjaer - managing a short-term stint is really very different to managing that job for real. They need to be careful they don't forget that

Possibly, but I think survival at all costs plays better to the board room than fans. The complaints from Leicester fans mirror the Southampton ones with regards to how dour the football is

Any praise of Ole is well deserved and not to be sneered at.
If Ole gets the job he'll do a damn site better one than Jose and maybe some others.
It's good to be a manager especially one who can lift the players spirits and have such a powerful effect on them.
He is human but at least he hasn't lost yet.

Re: 2018/19 Premier League Thread - Jose’s Difficult Third Year
Manchester City's recent patchy form in the league shows just how difficult it is to retain the Premier League title.
Many thought City would waltz thru and be champions again this year. For a while it looked like this would be the case, but they now are playing catch-up to Liverpool.
It's 10 years since a team retained the title. And although some say it's the same old teams at the top, at least the destination of the title is not a foregone conclusion.
I think Liverpool will do it this year. But there could be some nervous moments. They could - and should - have won it in 2014. I think their attack was better then but their defence is better now. Will Klopp stay calm enough to see them through?

What a manager. He has them doing forward passes, running and shooting at the goal. A tactical genius the like of which we are unlikely to ever see again. A modern day Bill Shankly. Truly honoured to just be able to watch his sides

Just add it to the list of Klopp excuses - it was the snow against Leicester, the refs against West Ham - the wind against Wolves last year! Odious man
