Karanka leaves Forest

That's a mental decision by Forest, quite a few dodgy seasons and they just seemed to be getting on an even keel and fighting for top 6. How do the Forest fans on here see it?
I know us derby fans will be laughing about it as you seemed a threat with him in charge. Wonder how the players feel.

All a bit silly, but Marinakis has a reputation for this from Olympiakos and Karanka has one of being difficult from Boro so I'm not completely shocked.

In other news Leeds sent a spy to watch Derby train and he ended up being picked up by the police

Is there any actual punishment, or precedent for this? Weird story

I don't really see a massive problem with this unless he broke in somewhere, if he did then fair enough, throw the book at them if not then if you don't want to be watched then train behind closed doors

Well this will a long trip home.
If the result wasn’t bad enough, only needed Grimsby to score for £616.
Puffs cheeks out.

Getting weirder. Can't see any positive way out of this for Leeds, although I'm unsure if they've actually broken any rules. If they have, imagine if they missed out on promotion because of a points deduction!

They haven't broken any rules so any punishment would be unprecedented.
What I find staggering is, firstly, pundits that say that "diving is just part of the game that we should accept" are advocating a points deduction or, even more hilariously, a reversal of the Derby result.
Also, English football taking the moral high-ground on this is a bit ridiculous. They're happy to let Russian oligarchs and Middle-Eastern torturers own teams, happy for gambling companies that profit from the misery of the poor to sponsor the shirt of teams, happy for teams for effectively price out their core support. But then Bielsa does something that has literally been done thousands of times before and we see this ridiculous incredulity.

Yep it's ludicrous isn't it! I've seen journalists use the phrase "spirit of the game" without irony!!! The same journalists who likely would have done the same thing, and particularly have done the same thing with England before to get stories...

Gayle dives, wins a penalty that costs us 2 points.
Gets a ban against the team 2 points behind us.
Punishment doesn't really fit the crime...

And a 10 year banning order I heard.
Very fitting that Jack scores the winner.

The latest chairman's notes were simultaneously insane and harrowing - what a state that man has gotten the club into, but looking back how the EFL ever let him take over is beyond me. He literally was banned from being a Director of companies for 8 years by the government because he basically funneled money from his old business into his personal accounts...complete nonsense

Because much like this time they have a choice between him or the club going into oblivion which creates myriad issues.

Congrats on Norwich and Sheffield united going up this season. Totally deserved.
Now. Hopefully Villa can make it third time lucky.

Just seen today's incident - you play to the whistle. Sick and tired of teams demanding the ball is put out when one of their players is down. Only referees should make that call. Otherwise play on. Only mistake Leeds made was gifting Villa a goal in reply to the latter's intimidation. Referee also made a mistake in that he should have booked about four Villa players for their actions (including sending off Mings) post-goal.

Re: SkyBet Championship 2018/19 Thread - Tom Ince stars in Groundhog Day
It’s called fair play. We put the ball out for Leeds. Yes to play the whistle, but let’s have a bit of sportsman ship in the game.
As for us having players booked. Leeds should of had more bookings to.
Not to mention Bamford the fckng cheat.
Should be embarrassed to walk the streets after that nonsense.
Also cloths lined Hourihane. That was missed though.
Fair play to the Leeds manager. Showing a bit of class.
Anyway fk em.

I think you either stop or play, Leeds stopped as though they were putting the ball out so Villa froze, then he played the key pass. To me, that's not on.

Fair play? Sportsmanship? Villa didn't show much of that - diving, faking injuries, attacking opposition players, starting a brawl in the technical dugout...disgraceful stuff. With the exception of Bamford, who I believe dived, Leeds' behaviour was impeccable. Villa were very fortunate not to be reduced to 8 or 9 players.

I think that's fair, but also kicked off as a result of Leeds in the first place.

What game were you watching.
Also your comment about Mings being sent off post goal is stupid. He was actually trying to keep the calm.
Down to 8 or 9 players. Wtf.
If Leeds has done the decent thing and put the ball out in the first place. Nothing would of happend. Any team would have been annoyed.
What did you expect would happen. Oh well you didn’t put the ball out for us Leeds, but good goal all the same.
Did you watch the whole game?

Re: SkyBet Championship 2018/19 Thread - Tom Ince stars in Groundhog Day
It's not a decent thing to put the ball out just because the opposition player has faked an injury and wants to time waste. The game should only be stopped when the referee blows his whistle.
And yes, Villa were lucky not to have more than one player sent off. They got off very lightly, even more so as Leeds gifted them a goal.

The issue is Leeds stopped playing as if they were going to put it out, then played it through as Villa switched off. Not whether they put it out or not initially.

Well to Norwich and Sheffield united getting promoted.
Onto the play offs.
I’m confident we can go up this season. Playing some great stuff.
Won’t be easy though.
Roll on Saturday, hopefully we can take a win going into the second leg.

We can but hope. But thats another new manager and another season of rebuilding for Boro.
We're rapidly becoming like those clubs we used to make fun of, for chopping & changing their managers every couple of years.
