I have been known to hurl food which has passed the Best Before Date but not the expiry date at poorly performing thespians. Especially if they are white, middle aged and don't believe in climate change.

Re: Music Section Morning Tea Society
It went very well apart from one of the actors couldn't get there. He is only in one play out of the five, so it could have been worse. They plays themselves look very good - I'm very impressed with everyone. The set transitions need to be smoother - I'm working on written instructions for everyone today (day off work) as asking them to commit to memory isn't working well enough.
Ticket sales are really good considering we are amateur theatre, with original plays i.e. no famous actors, no famous writers, not a musical, no child actors to bring along parent/grandparents/siblings etc. We could get up to 80 people in total over the 3 nights, which is more than I dared hope for.

Good to hear. Hope it goes well tonight/fracture a femur or whatever the phrase is.

Theatrical fisting to you all!
Fist night went really well! All the plays were better than the rehearsals - the actors really nailed it, and the set transitions, which I was co-organising went really smoothly.
It was thrilling to see something I'd written being performed on-stage in front of an audience.

Morning luvvies (throws cape nonchalantly over chair).
It all went really well. Great performances, no technical hitches and good-sized audiences - we played to nearly 100 over the 3 nights.
The audience all voted for their favourite play (we had 5 short plays, all performed every night) and mine placed second, which I'm pretty happy about.

Glad to know you still wear a cape, Jules.
Did the "Neighbour of Zero" attend the performance? Or was he the central character of your play?

The neighbours of zero are the few numbers either side of zero on the roulette wheel.
Edit - also, in the original short story, the main character had lost everything, so he had 'next to nothing' i.e. was a 'neighbour of zero'.

Ah yes. That was a good short story.
Really wanted to nail that guy's feet to the ground to stop him turning back around towards the roulette wheel.

Re: Music Section Morning Tea Society
Morning Rick and Jules.
Talking of gambling - I had a guest from a mining town in WA called Karratha, which had 10 consecutive days over 47°C last year.
There's nothing to do there after work except drink and gamble apparently. Lots of depressed and violent people in a hell hole of a place.
Anyway, we went down to the pub here. I turned my back for half a second and he's already placing bets on a "short distance" greyhound race in Tasmania... with a few runners. Told me he had no idea on the conditions of the track or the form. He then spreads his bets and collects $150. Instead of calling it quits he just keeps going until he is back to zero. So blase about throwing money away... a sort of boom and bust mentality.

That’s how it should be done. While I wouldn’t be upset if I saw someone putting cream on first, I certainly wouldn’t intervene if they were subsequently stabbed in the face because of it.

Fist sicond for me this week.
The slapdown was skillfully delivered with a deft fist.
It just goes to show... one should always delve deeper into an argument and examine the fine print in detail on any link posted by these slippery and devious individuals.
Thought super & craig had a good discussion on SNP and Brexit (and where to, with whom, when and how from here) even though they don't agree on all points. Very civil but also enlightening.

Re: Music Section Morning Tea Society
It was an artful smackdown but I do get a bit annoyed when celebrities like JK Rowling, Julius and Meryl Streep get involved in politics, they seem to think that their opinions are more valid because of their fame and they can influence the opinions of those who follow them mindlessly.

Just gonna take sicond whilst I'm here.
I pop by to give news:
I was added to a Facebook conversation which Tino "Tino" Tino was involved in. I told him that I was worried about breaking CC rules by speaking to him, but would let the CC know he is alive. He had a real name, but I refused to learn it.

I find this whole episode highly disturbing, not least because Tino is on F***book and communicating with you, but refusing to communicate with me via either F***book or the CC. If he weren't dead, I'd be rapidly losing my respect for him.
