First topic message reminder :
I mean are we even sure Gordon isn't a one year wonder who never stuck around for his drop off season.
A lot of hype for a guy who's had more near comebacks than games played in years

I really don't get that - SF were the #1 seeds in the NFC and have a fantastic defence and running game, plus a more than adequate QB. KC have Mahomes and Hill (which is plenty to beat most...)

The only thing stopping me from rooting for KC is Pat Mahomes's annoying as heck girlfriend.
Should be a great game - hopefully it lives upto the billing, after a rather flat conference weekend

Kinda went under the radar that KC used Tyreek’s issues off the field to get a discount on his contract.

She is hella annoying. Also not great looking, he needs an upgrade in that department
And yes KC does employ some trash bags - the John Dorsey experience leaves a lot of that behind

The Jacksonville Jaguars will become the first NFL franchise in history to hold multiple regular season games outside the US, after confirming they will play at, Wembley Stadium, twice, during the 2020 campaign.

XFLv2 kicks off tonight if anyone wants more football. Let's see if they can outlast the AAF. Most teams will be starting someone you would believe was a backup on an NFL team if someone told you (Josh Johnson! Landry Jones! Cardale Jones!); Bob Stoops, Marc Trestman, Jim Zorn and Pep Hamilton are among the HC.

The over/under on teams who would have just traded a first round pick minimum straight up for Hopkins is surely in the 20s.

Diggs goes for a 1st, 4th, 5th and 6th
Hopkins goes for essentially a 2nd and the worst contract in the NFL on a RB, who's averaged 3.6 ypc since 2017.
Lmao Houston

So Rivers to Colts, Bridgewater to Panthers, Mariota to Raiders, Brees stays at Saints.
QBs still available/up for trade - Brady, Newton, Winston, Dalton, Carr (?), Brissett, Foles.
Teams still needing a QB - Pats, Chargers, Bucs, Bears
If I had to guess... Bears get Dalton, Chargers roll with Tyrod and a rookie, Brady goes to Arians and the Bucs to avoid playing Mahomes twice a year in LA and the Pats... Go for Cam I guess?

The Bucs' receivers are among the best in the NFL. Once JPP came back from injury last season, their defence was also top 10.
As for Brady, I suppose we'll have to see. But yes, it's a huge gamble. Especially considering the Bucs' suspect offensive line.

Yeah the OL combined with Arians love of going deep would be a worry for me - Brady's arm strength is still there for me, but his pocket mobility really declined last year. Do Tampa have cap room to go after OL? What are there main team needs would you say Pr4wn?

OL is probably the biggest need. Also remains to be seen whether Jones can kick it up a gear at RB.
Arians will chop and change his scheme to fit Brady, of course.
On D, safety and corner are the holes. The front seven is looking handy, especially now given we've tagged Barrett and re-signed JPP.

Re: Ongoing NFL Discussion Thread V
relying on the defense to stay in form is a big question mark for me, particularly when defensive consistency has a higher variance year to year than offense and last year was a clear outlier.
Would also put a small question mark against the receivers going from a QB that attempted every throw to a QB that cant make a number of them anymore.
Theres a real chance for me that the Bucs are getting end of career Peyton rather than 55 TDs Peyton. And in the NFC I dont think Brady even being above average will be enough

End of career Peyton won a Superbowl.
Also, the Buccaneers rode their defense to a Superbowl win once before.

yes.
however if you're relying on the defense to be historically good, it prompts the question as to why you're investing 30m a year in Brady

Who said anyone was relying on the D? You've come up with that by yourself.
I said the D is good, and that it's possible to win while relying on a D. Nobody is suggesting these Bucs will do that?
Weird.

Brady’s arm was fine last year. Manning’s was a noodle by the end. Whether he can avoid the rush (or he even wants to try - he gave up on plays early last year a lot) is another question.

BOB didn’t think he had enough injury prone receivers or players on bad contracts - so he just had to get one more.

Gronk is back! Traded to the Bucs (plus a Seventh) for a 4th.
Pats get a 4th round pick for a player who was retired and they couldn't afford - about as good as they could hope for. Bucs get to put the band back together. Imagine Brate or more likely Howard is gone now so the Bucs will get at least that fourth back.

Rumours of Miami wanting Herbert, or even trading upto #3 for a tackle, are surely a smokescreen to make sure the Chargers don't jump them for Tua, right?

Tua goes to Miami, they weren't making another Brees-style mistake.
Also Herbert goes the the Chargers. Really not sure about him. I love his story but he's not run the pro-style before and seems to struggle making quick decisions.

You do have to wonder whether the Chargers were lured in by all the Miami wanting a tackle at 5 pick... Been as standard so far really. No major shocks.
Wonder if NO starts to think about moving up for Love.
