Re: FIFA Challenge League Homepage III
If my "friends" did that, I'd have been straight to the papers telling them everything I knew about them, and never ever seeing them again. I could never look my "friends" in the eye knowing that their selfishness and greed had imposed who-knows-what suffering on one of their own children. I hope you didn't apologise!

Admittedly I haven't seen the Netflix documentary, so I'm probably a bit less informed than some of you fine chaps.
But I was left in hotel rooms by my parents while they were having a meal - as I understand it they were right by the hotel. It's easy to say that they should have done things differently, and I believe they are genuinely upset and would love to turn back time more than any of us observers.
It sounds horrible but surely there's been other disappearances which haven't got anywhere near the publicity they should.

Rightly or wrongly, I think leaving your kids in a locked room most likely several floors up is a bit different to leaving them in an unlocked apartment on the ground floor, drugged to sleep

The theory my wife and I have agreed on is that they accidentally overdosed Maddie on the sedative they used to spark the kids out for the night, then got their friends to help cover it up (seeing as they'd all drugged their kids that night)

Sounds the most plausible option. I am disgusted at the money that has gone into the whole thing.

They weren't right by them. They were in a ground floor apartment with their room having direct access too and from outside. They were several hundred metres down the road, in no line of sight

Re: FIFA Challenge League Homepage III
Everything about it is wrong, but it's the distance the parents knowingly put between themselves and their children that's the most callous. I've spent a grand total of two nights away from my son in my entire life, and both nights broke my heart. When I'm at work, he's with family. When I'm out of work, he's never more than 10m away from me. EVER. And the same goes for my daughter.Afro wrote:Trebs wrote: as I understand it they were right by the hotel.

Any parent who leaves their kids at home, for any reason, should have all their kids taken from them. Having children is a commitment - to them - and if you want to break that commitment for a bit of cheap sangria and a tuna salad? Those kids deserve better.

Yep - I stand corrected. I thought they were in a restaurant next door to the hotel.
I'm sure you're a very good parent Azzy, and that you really care about your kids. But if parents don't have their kids closeby, that doesn't make them awful people. There's so many shades of grey between the two extremes. I could add a lot more on this from personal experiences but it's probably best I don't.
I don't think they are murderers, they are people that made a terrible mistake. And they are suffering worse than any of us for that.

What about babysitters? Or kids having sleepovers?
Is it always 10 metres? What about during a school race? Do you run alongside?
Doctors are very unlikely to have killed their child with a sedative. Things like sleeping pills are almost impossible to overdose on, I think valium wouldn't be far away either.
My diagnosis? Bad babysitting

I would never employ a babysitter, or let my child sleep at someone else's house. And yes, 10m, because primary school races are very short things, like egg and spoon and skipping.Dolphin Ziggler wrote:What about babysitters? Or kids having sleepovers?

They’re definitely longer than 10m. I’d have guessed ours was at least 50m.

Losing weight is tough. I'm 37 now and if I don't eat for a week, I lose half a pound. But if I even look at a McDonald's, I put on four pounds. I have genuinely considered liposuction, because unless I take up smoking, I'm doomed to be a 16st guy who breathes heavily down the phone to everyone.

Davis v Kemen - who would get the best average over 5 games at CM.
Davis has been gash (other than the week he played CF). WIth him having one game to go and Kemen having played all 5, Davis needs to score 10.4 in the final game to draw level!!!
