Glad this got posted. Watched it yesterday and loved his reaction when he holed #230. Nice, repetitive swing as well.

The London Club, actually at New Ash Green in Kent, not far from Brands Hatch. It’s definitely not an easy Par 3 - downhill, in a bowl, as you could see by the way he ran like a manic to pick the ball out of the hole. Doubt he’d have run back up!
The story about how it got its name is the original Japanese owners wanted a course in London, looked at the site on a map and saw the symbol for an airport and thought it was Heathrow so decided that’s where they wanted to build their very expensive, exclusive course. Trouble was, it was Biggin Hill Airport! It’s staged a few Senior Tour events (and I think will do this year too) but the infrastructure is so poor that it’s a nightmare to get in and out - just one narrow lane to the only entrance. The Japanese sold the course some Spanish consortium a few years ago but I’ve no idea who owns the course now.

Just did a Google search and The Bendinat Group appear to be the owners. Two directors I've not heard of. Made a loss of around £190,000 2017 and a profit in 2018 of £80,000. But they have a number of outstanding loans, one of over £3 million.They have planning permission to build a 130 room 5 star hotel on the site. But the company reports start off with the principal business being "a golf course of international championship standard based close to South East London and Canary Wharf" ????? As Lady Putt says it is due to hold the Staysure Seniors PGA Championship this August.

So they still own it. Not exactly “close to Canary Wharf”! Where do they learn their geography? I used to live within spitting distance (across the water) from Canary Wharf and was a good half an hour’s drive on a good day from the London Club but then I suppose if you have a private helicopter it could be called close
