Subs should of come on on 55 minutes not 65 minutes, this game is probably beyond Wales at the moment, we're awful up front, and can't seem to string two passes together behind. Pack deficiencies are very, very worrying.

Ref has been quite generous with Wales today but that often the way when a side is getting dominated.

Wales have struggled to create anything much all game. Nothing at all in the 2nd half.

Re: Wales and Ireland Two warm up test series Match Thread
The ref said on-field decision was a try before he spoke to Barnes - it was the commentator that said the ref called it as held up which was wrong as he was just signalling time-off/TMO.

It's obvious Wales should not have Navidi and Tipuric in the same back row, 2 light weight flankers is not working today. The front row is also a real concern in the scrum. Wales ball retention going into the tackle has been shocking as well.
Wales are simply too light weight to be competitve.

Navidi only just came on! Also, the front row has gone good generally, one penalty aside. It’s been stable all game.

Don’t talk ball aches.... ref said held up and signalled held up before Barnes came in questioning it and hence ref signalling for TMO. Refs do use hand signals as well as saying you know.... learn the rules.

Yes, but their making more yards now when their running into the fringes around the rucks.

Advantage for what this time? Raynal seems to be making up his own rules as the game goes on.

Heaf is right. Ref said he thought it was a try. I’m not sure he could ever have seen a clear try, but Heaf is spot on.

No you're wrong No 9. He signalled time off and said it's an on field decision as try.

If you bother to listen you can clearly hear him saying several times "on field decision is try for me" ... and I do know the laws thanks ... and he makes a clear T sign with his hands - no sign of the held-up signal or mention of it from the ref - the commentator got it wrong.

When he blew his whistle he said and signalled held up. What he said to Barnes after the clock was off before going to TMO has no bearing. When TMO said on filed decision, the on field decision was held up.

Why did he bin Beard when the (incorrect) offside call (latest supposed penalty) was against JD2?

I’ve rewound it. He never said held up, the commentator did. He never signalled held up, he signalled time off.

charity decision for Wales on that last scrum. Dominated the scrum again although not as much as last time.

Re: Wales and Ireland Two warm up test series Match Thread
Crucial decision not called that swung momentum in Ireland’s favour; AWJ won a turnover but holding on wasn’t called. Ireland persisted with the scrum and scored through Furlong.
Stander takes the ball outside the Irish 22, Murray kicks out on the full. Lineout isn’t back at the 22 like it should be, would’ve swung momentum to Wales.
Raynal just a bit odd with a few other calls; like the high tackle that never was, then going to the TMO for Ryan’s try but then remembering he has Superman X-Ray vision. He didn’t give a high tackle call against Sexton either but was giving incorrect ones against Wales. Like I said the other day, Ireland only beat Wales these days by relying on decisions like these, just like last week and the time we had to endure Glen Jackson (now dumped from the elite panel). We weren’t good enough to get back into the game today and it was disappointing how we fell apart. But Ireland are overrated and Schmidt is out of ideas.

Jeez now you're just seeing and hearing things that didn't happen - I've watched the replay several times to make sure I'm not talking 'ball aches' to use your terminology ... and others on here have heard/saw the same as me ...

Congrats Ireland. Well deserved. No shame to be beaten by the no.1 team in the world! But lots to work on for Wales.
I hope that no.1 tag hanging around your necks doesn’t weigh you down too much going in to the World Cup

Ireland win again, without ever really hitting top gear
Wales have fallen a little bit off their best form as well
Are warm up games any real guide to form in any case?
I would imagine both sides will be going off to the WC in pretty reasonable shape.

He did initially seem to suggest held up, but after an extra look and discussion with Barnes he changed his mind. Crucial thing is he asked "Any reason I cannot award a try"

Very disappointed with Wales. Full credit to Ireland for not letting Wales back into the game. Ireland seemed back to their physical, suffocating best there.

A totaly different game in the second half.
The amount of ball Wales had in the first half and able to build up a big enough lead at half time.
Well played Ireland a good win.
Both teams played really well a good game in the end.
