Australia v Wales - 29/9/19, RWC, k/o 8:45 GMT - Match Thread - Aus 25-29 Wales
First topic message reminder :
Massive game this. Surely decides who wins Pool D and - at this stage - avoids both NZ and England in the knock-outs.
A real 50:50, too close to call game for me.
Wales : L Williams; North, Jonathan Davies, Parkes, Adams; Biggar, G Davies; Wyn Jones, Owens, Francis, Ball, Alun Wyn Jones (capt), Wainwright, Tipuric, Navidi.
Replacements: Smith, Dee, Lewis, Shingler, Moriarty, T Williams, Patchell, Watkin.
Australia : Haylett-Petty; Ashley-Cooper, O'Connor, Kerevi, Koroibete; Foley, Genia; Sio, Latu, Alaalatoa, Rodda, Arnold, Pocock, Hooper (capt), Naisarani.
Replacements: Uelese, Slipper, Kepu, Coleman, Salakaia-Loto, White, To'omua, Beale.
Officials: Referee, Romain Poite (France) GOOD LUCK EVERYONE; Assistant referees, Luke Pearce (England), Karl Dickson (England); TMO Ben Skeen (New Zealand).

Biggar's tackle was fine, open armed, literally never a penalty.
Kerevi leading arm a clear card - watch what he hits first, the skin of Patchell's jaw clearly wobbles from impact before contact with chest is made. Mitigating circumstances being marginal and a bit of a weird, almost freakish situation. But, straight arm, not a 'quick' change of direction - red card for straight arm to head mitigated to yellow.
Hooper a blatant yellow.
Cheika has everyone talking about Patchell's tackle technique and how they're hard done by. Genius.
Forget that Latu literally takes Tipuric out to create a gap that leads to first try, rather than just a penalty.
Forget the forward pass that lead to the second try.
Forget that Kerevi's penalty only led to 3 points from a 49m penalty kick.
Forget that Australia were deservedly beaten. They were cheated. That's the narrative. Cheated by the ref against a team it's their right to beat every time.
Actually sickened by the way Australia have dominated the media narrative post game, and the media has just lapped it up. Honestly hope England absolutely thrash them in the quarter final. Pummel the living daylights out of them. Hooper is a great player but he's fallen victim to his coach's 'siege mentality', let's say. What a whinging, b1tching team.
Hope the whinging dies soon enough and we can get back on to the rugby. Australia have literally no right to feel hard done by. Could easily have been a yellow and red by the letter of the law in the first 40 minutes as they failed to deal with Wales.
Wales hopefully are all eyes on Fiji and not stressing it. Also able to chill out and not feel like the fake news makes them feel like it was a fake win.

Who cares about the whining Aussies they have a genetic inferiority complex, they're done and history now. Best thing to do is let them chew it over and waste energy. Its great though because v England they will be itching for NH revenge.
