WWA Season 12
Marky wrote:Anyone for Season 12?
Feedback?
Would have to be different to previous seasons. Do a draft similar to The Hundred in Cricket. Vote on shows by ranking them in order, feedback optional, otherwise people won't vote.
Maybe draft 15 singles wrestlers each, 5 tag teams each, 5 women each, 2 announcers each, 1 GM each
Shows can be recaps without being voted down, because it's about the booking, not the word count.
No pressure, maybe it'll last longer with longer deadlines.

I'm up for it, I enjoy getting feedback so hopefully people put in the effort...I know i've been guilty in the past with writing long shows but I'll keep that to a minimum.

You little hero Tooze.
Aiming for 8 before we begin, but not saying we need 8 because each week will just be every show ranked against every other show.

Re: WWA Season 12
Draft would work as such;
(for example)
Marky - Pick 1, 12, 13, 24
Liam - Pick 2, 11, 14, 23
Twist - Pick 3, 10, 15, 22
Olly - Pick 4, 9, 16, 21
Tooze - Pick 5, 8, 17, 20
Samo - Pick 6, 7, 18, 19
And so on, the actual order for the first picks would be randomised.
(for example)
Marky - Pick 1, 12, 13, 24
Liam - Pick 2, 11, 14, 23
Twist - Pick 3, 10, 15, 22
Olly - Pick 4, 9, 16, 21
Tooze - Pick 5, 8, 17, 20
Samo - Pick 6, 7, 18, 19
And so on, the actual order for the first picks would be randomised.

Is there a draft pool or can we draft whoever we want (as long as someone else hasnt already drafted them)?

Literally whoever you want. As long as they're a wrestler.
Anyone dead or alive, in their prime.
15 males, then 5 tag teams, then 5 or 10 women, then announcers and managers.

I suppose we need a final date for people to join, then the process can begin.

Probably going to do 6 tag teams instead of 5, and at least 6 women (or more, but an even number) to make it easier to book matches.
Deadline for signing up is Friday, then we can begin the drafting process.

Are you allowed a wildcard person to join your fed of someone who's not been in the draft?

Once the draft is over, you can sign anyone you like who is a free agent, as long as they aren't already in. Also, trading between people is allowed.

I think 5 tag teams is a bit excessive? I also thought you had to make your own teams? So if you wanted LOD, you needed to draft Animal and Hawk separately?
For want of a better example, I could draft Strikeforce as a tag team, but then use Rick Martel as a singles wrestler? Or if you draft them as a team, they have to stay as a team? Because I could draft The Power Trip and stop people getting HHH and SCSA?

Re: WWA Season 12
You could draft The Two Man Power Trip if you wanted, but this is why we're drafting the singles wrestlers first. If nobody took either SCSA or HHH in the singles draft you could pick the Power Trip.
If you wanted LOD that badly, you could draft them individually in the singles draft to give you a better chance of getting them, or wait until the Tag Team Draft and get them as a team.
You can pair two singles guys if you want, that's up to you. Similarly you can book tag team wrestlers in singles matches. If you draft The New Day in the tag teams, you could use all three individually, similarly if someone drafted Kofi, then Big E and Xavier could still be drafted as a tag team.
I think common sense would prevail for stables with loads of guys, you cant just sign the nWo and expect to have every single member

Count us in then, though my entire idea is based solely around me acquiring one specific wrestler so if I fail in that respect to get them then it's scuppered.
As a back up though do fictional wrestlers count ie ones we've had in efeds?

Re: WWA Season 12
So if someone took Kofi in the singles then someone else could not draft New Day in the tags and get Kofi as well? Gotcha.
I am guessing for wrestlers that have different characters it is ok to have dupes? So someone could draft Dustin Rhodes but then someone else could draft Golddust?
Cue someone drafting Rocky Mavia and saying they are as good in their prime as The Rock was

No. You can't sign a duplicate. If someone signs Jon Moxley, you can't have Dean Ambrose.

Make that wrestler your number one pick then, and if you don't get them, trade for them.
Fictional wrestlers don't count. Technically I've done wrestling training so I could sign myself if I bent the rules, but best to draw the line at the person has to have been a Professional Wrestler or involved on TV (ie, paid to perform)

We have to ensure nobody signs Cactus Jack, Dude Love, Mankind and Mick Foley as four separate wrestlers

Then I fully intend to sign him and having him go full MPD and change characters mid-match!

Re: WWA Season 12
Two options for the draft, sticking with the 15 single male wrestlers first.
Either we draft one at a time, which would take much longer to do with people online at different times
or
Everyone sends in a list from 1 to 15, in priority order. For example, if I bid on Hulk Hogan at number 4, and someone else bids on him at number 2, they would get him. So, if you want someone desperately, put them at number 1.
Thoughts?

The second option is much quicker so I'd say that...this being said, I'm probably not going to take part...I know the shows will be quicker but I won't have time to read them/feedback properly.

Unless you can coordinate everyone to be online at the same time for a couple of hours to do one draft pick at a time it makes sense to send in 15 seeded picks.

Cool. We'll go with that then.
If you guys wanna start planning your lists, don't send them yet.
First we'll draft 15 male wrestlers, then 5 tag teams (not 6, as you can use two singles wrestlers to make a new team if you need a 6th team), then the women

Apart from "Not being a dick" whats to stop someone filling their 15 picks with single members of tag teams to screw up 15 potential tag picks?

Nothing. But then they'd have a rubbish roster
But if you had a proper man crush on a tag team you could draft both members individually in the singles draft.

Not sure, probably do 5 normal shows then a PPV week, and see if people want to continue after that. I'd want to do another cycle, so 10 shows and 2 PPV's.

If you want to send me your list of 15 males, either via PM or by Facebook messenger, you may do so.
I've sent Hero my list of 15, so that I can't cheat. He's sent me his, which is why I'm just making it open now for those who are 100% in.

Re: WWA Season 12
So, five lists in, already some people have missed out
Can't reveal who until the rest are in, but you will have a chance to draft the remaining numbers.
The numbers will remain, so if you lose your number 7 pick, 7th is the highest they can be drafted, when it comes to beating others in a second round of the draft.
