And France get a scrum penalty on the stroke of HT and go for the corner

I think it was a combo of Jonny's height and his body position. Tough one but I think would've been harsh to card him.

Some might say that's been scrappy, but I thought it was a very enjoyable half

Hmmmm
Am I wear rose tinted glasses here?
Barnes have a knock on when it was ripped and then talked the TMO out of a penalty
Crucial calls too.
Scotland hold out. Can we get out in the second half and play some instead of tackling all day?

Yeah that Chat thing was very borderline. Personally probably a yellow but I can see how its judged as a brace for contact.

Perhaps not a card but it’s a penalty. He led with the forearm.

Dumb game management from France.
Scotland will be delighted with the HT score.

Re: Scotland v France - Autumn Nations Cup 2020
Great first half! Scotland look so much more organised than they did last year. Some poor errors though. Kinghorn at the start bumping Rattez and then his long kick, some sloppy rolling away but Barnes is being very quick on that which is his style. Overall a great performance though, just a bit unlucky in attack at times. Second half could be very entertaining!

Who is the French co-commentator on Prime? It’s annoying me that I’ve not been able to work it out!

Re: Scotland v France - Autumn Nations Cup 2020
Great half of very tense rugby, I've enjoyed it in a masochistic way! I'd like to see nomaits on for kinghorn, I think his defence has been poor and just a few mistakes that we can't afford in something this tight. Maitland is a steady hand and a great distributor. Also get berghan off I'd say, his contribution has been a penalty so far imo.

Understand the logic as given by Barnes. Its just an oddity of the way the regulations are now for high contact that as a tackler you'd be red carded and made to watch Wales Georgia second half for that kind of high contact but as the guy with the ball you can run into people and they have to take responsibility for being charged safely.
TBH dont think anyone would've been too outraged if it were given as a penalty and/or card.
Wouldve though the slog suits Scotland more than an opening attacking game, so don't wish too hard.

I have forgetten his name as well, but he used to play hooker for Clermont
Is not Ibanez, he is the team manager these days

Definitely. This autumn has very much highlighted his shortcomings. He needs a dropping to iron out his mistakes off the pitch.

What the hell is Barnes doing?
“That’s a maul, now it’s a maul”
“Tackle complete everyone away”
He’s lost the plot

When Duhan caught that he should have taken off. He’d have gone the length without a french player in front of him

Again you can’t penalise a Scottish player for taking a maul down when you see the french player judo throwing him to the ground!!!!

The contact area has been a bit of a lottery but we cannot hold onto the ball long enough to exert any pressure
