Glasgow go into the break 10-7 up but the scoreline massively flatters the Scaaalets.
Ollie Kebble went off after 9 minutes and Murphy Walker is doing well in his place.
Can't see Glasgow losing this tbh.

Mind if the ref keeps disallowing perfectly good tries
That's a 14 point swing there.

I get the feeling that at half time someone said, " Lads, they've had the ball for 38 minutes and scored one try; we've had it for two minutes and scored one. Let's stop being so timid and run at the buggers."
No excuses, no blaming the ref.
Well done Scaaalets

Meanwhile Jones and Maitland picking up more trys for their clubs and Hastings playing in their win over Northampton. None likely to be involved against Italy or Ireland.

Jez, that was pretty disappointing from Glasgow who just folded when the pressure came on and Scarlets suddenly found some form.
Not much to take that from that game at all, other than Ollie Smith looking decent again and them him taking a bad looking injury!
Who is going to bench at LH for Scotland next weekend now that Ollie Keeble is injured again? Back to Alan Dell you would imagine.

Re: Glasgow and Edinburgh - Unceasing Banter Thread 27
There is some talk of a sickness bug inn the Glasgow camp this week.
Wilson cryptically referred to an interesting build up to the game in his pre match interview and the team as a whole just looked completely off the pace in the second half. Sam Johnson was apparently subbed as he started vomiting on the pitch during the game.
Hard to know what to make of that, if it was a problem, then to Wilson's credit, he does not seem to be using it as an excuse. It did seem a really odd performance though in the way they disintegrated during the second half.

I'm seeing comments on other forums about a winter vomiting type bug running riot at Scotstoun during the week. But, as the truism has it, once you step out on the field there are no excuses.
N.B. I always gave this advice to younger teachers; if you are ill stay home, if you struggle in and then fecc up no-one will remeber your noble sacrifice they will only remember the fecc up.

Re: Glasgow and Edinburgh - Unceasing Banter Thread 27
Did not see either game but saw the text commentary on the try. It seemed to kill our game. The rumours about the sickness bug would probably fit as Glasgow's bench looked decent for this one.
At least if it is a vomiting bug, we should have it sorted quite quickly and in time for Edinburgh. Hopefully Kebble was precautionary and Smith is not too bad. We could do with Lambert and McBeth getting fit regardless.
Edinburgh had a great and very necessary result. A loss there and that might have been playoffs in doubt. Two more wins from six should be enough.

Re: Glasgow and Edinburgh - Unceasing Banter Thread 27
At least with Smith, we have Forbes and McKay to step in there. McLean has been injured so I am guessing Fifita, Tagive or Cancelliere will take a wing spot. Regardless, hopefully it is not a year, or even season, ender. Glasgow have the chance to make a run in the Challenge Cup that would be great experience for him.
Kebble hurts as we already have three injured LH's for Glasgow and two for Scotland. Lambert has been out all season and I have no idea how serious McBeth's injury is. Fingers crossed two more weeks lets them come into contention or else our academy TH Walker will be starting LH with god knows who backing him up. Edinburgh's TH's should have a field day.

Re: Glasgow and Edinburgh - Unceasing Banter Thread 27
Only just caught up with the weekend rugby, which can best be summarised as Edinburgh = good, Glasgow = bad.
Bradbury off to Bristol next season. All the best I say. A frustrating player all be told, and although he's put in some stellar shifts this season, he's still fallen well short of potential for me. If I were honestly picking the best Edinburgh match day squad, he isn't in it, and with young Muncaster looking pretty ruddy awesome, I think his salary is probably one we can do without.
That all said, looking forward to seeing him have a crack at the Prem next season.

Solid looking team for Glasgow, front 5 looks solid with Cummings and Gray coming back in.
Hopefully Duncy finds some form with his boot this time and can get the ball moving.

If you exclude Magnus Bradbury, Ryan Wilson has more appearances than the rest of the Edinburgh forwards subs and starting forwards put together.
The backs look very evenly matched though.

A very interesting first 40. If the MFL can hold on to the ball for more than 20 seconds they could win this. Henners is looking nippy but VDW isn't doing much

Well played Glasgow. The smarter and more accurate side. Really frustrating performance from Edinburgh (Muncaster and Boyle aside). VDW was mince, and the passing from Pyrgos was all over the place.

Edinburgh never really got back into the game after the C2C try it really knock the stuffing out of them.
Some good young players out there on both sides though
Walker, Muncaster, Dobie, Boyle - surely they will all run up a few Scotland caps

There is some truth in that and maybe a bit of a changing of the guard in the west. No Harley, Wilson subbed off and the subs upping the pace considerably.

Dobie just looks a class player though, the speed of his pass and his reading of the game, hard to believe he is only 20!
Probably done him no harm leaving him out of the Scotland squad to get some proper game time with Glasgow.

I do think the time has come for Harley and Wilson, particularly when you see what you get from Darge, Gordon and Dempsey (what a terrific player he is).
The other Weegie player who was really good tonight was Cancellieri. Really good.
