The ABs, well, they won, but did they?
Scoreboard says the AB's won, at least they tried to play rugby.
I am told it is in our DNA.

So that's all done and dusted. Now it's time for World rugby to throw the book at Rassie.

Re: Rugby Championship 2021
Tried? The ABs execution was abysmal, horrible. Both teams failed to deliver. Hard aggressive dominating controlling rugby with flashes of brilliance is my stereotype of SA rugby. That’s the DNA imo, it can be frustrating being dominated, but I respect it and expect a battle. But it’s not there at the moment with this game plan for whatever reason. The kicking and reliance on slowing the game down has gone too far and it’s got to the point where SA don’t seem to be able to construct a try for fear of losing the ball. Dunno, that game was frustrating due to poor skills execution from both teams, both should be better.Old Man wrote:ebop wrote:Old Man, what can I say, you guys are better than that and you fricken know it. Kerevi running rampant for the Wallabies.
What a coup it was to get him back in a Wallabies jersey!

Wallabies looking comfortable 17-3 HT.
It's fair to say that Argentina have really added very little this Rugby Championship so far.

I wonder what the impact of the demise of Super Rugby Jaguares has on the Pumas team.

Thought that was worth a look from the TMO - Argentina player looked to charge into a prone Nick White in the ruck before the penalty was called.

Fair to say Wallabies v Argentina isn't much of a classic so far either.
Strange decision from Australia to go for the posts when they were 9 points and a man up.

Re: Rugby Championship 2021
Comfortable 27-8 win for the Wallabies in what was a pretty poor
quality game. Not that the Wallabies will care - first time winning 3 in a row in 4 years.
They did play like headless chickens when trying to get the 4th try though.
As for Argentina, I really don't know what their style of play is meant to be. They're just 'meh' in everything right now.

Dont think I've seen a NZ back 3 play as badly as that ever. Closely followed by Perenara and Barrett. But Jesus SA like to kick dont they. Surely they have to start passing soon?

Nienaber doesn't believe in the pass, if you can't get foot to ball, you must go down in the tackle

Seriously how could this actually happen? They've been in Australia long enough to know the rules, and surely the team manager of all people should have known they couldn't do that!
They maybe didn't realise Byron Bay was in NSW given it is only an hour from Gold Coast, but it's still not an excuse.
This could get real messy for them as they won't be able to join up with the squad any time soon. Or indeed be able to fly home with the team, and there'll be no flights to Argentina from Sydney right now!

Re: Rugby Championship 2021
Crazy. They’ve ‘checked out’ as they’ve been pretty underwhelming this RC. Sure they’ve been away from home a while, and I bet that’s hard, but it would have been nice of them to show a bit of professionalism.

The game desperately needed that 2nd try - great set piece attacking play from the Wallabies.

I don't quite get the SH reffing at times. Aus 3 shoulder charges the Arg 9...no attempt of a wrap, smashes him. Nothing at all....not even discussed on the replays.

Really excited to see the Wallabies tour this Autumn, they're going to force a looser game which could mean some very entertaining matches. Cooper vs Russell and Smith is going to be highly entertaining match up. Roll on Novemeber!

I can't wait to see the Wallabies test themselves in the NH. The game v Scotland should be entertainingly - both teams have a similar style.
Argentina in trouble here - this could be a long half if they don't pick things up.

Australia getting very loose again - I'd like to see them really turn the screw instead of trying to play Barbarians rugby. The same thing happened last week trying to chase the 4th try - they were throwing miracle passes instead of building the score.

Decent result for the Wallabies considering they played all their matches at home.

First Wallaby team to win 4 in a row. Yes it was all at home but that was SA X2 and Argentina x2 on the back of 3 Tests against the ABs.
Big expectation for the autumn tests.

This is the most attacking the Boks have been in a long time. There's actually been multi-phase attack - not set it up, kick and repeat.

Boks really aren't ones for momentum are they. Pounding the NZ line, gaining a few penalties, ref probably thinking yellow soon - go for 3 points...

Boks playing with so much intensity - ABs completely on the ropes. I'd love to see the penalty count as ABs will be way in front.
If SA could play like this for 80 minutes no one could live with them.
ABs have barely had the ball!

Re: Rugby Championship 2021
Absolutely incredible test match! So much intensity and drama. If SA had lost that they would have been absolutely gutted - they completely dominated the game.
There were so many penalties in that last 10 minutes and a lot of them were borderline. You could ask if we really want that to be deciding games, but it was so dramatic who cares!
That was such a dominant performance by the Boks though - ABs soft underbelly once again exposed. I'm absolutely amazed NZ didn't find a way to protect their ruck ball more all game. Also with 30s to go and a well set up pod you really shouldn't be getting turned over!
Great drama and entertainment.

It's a lot of fun watching the last six minutes of this South African fan doing a live commentary of the match (no footage of the match, just him freaking out).

No! It's aim was to encourage ball in hand play supposedly, if that's the case it's failed.

Yeah right , goes against all this whining about style of play even if the Boks win by 1 point. Typical no show when they performed well. I guess typical South African 'supporter' and I use that word very loosely. Boks dont need supporters like that

Re: Rugby Championship 2021
And what kind of "supporter" is that?
Which kind of supporter are you? The kind that blindly follows the game plan and believe in the "toe the party line"?
I have been a critic of my Bok team forever, I have also been a supporter of my bok team forever.
Did you know?
Jake White had a fantastic record in his first two years, his win rate was close to 70%, then in the last two years before he won the world cup his win rate dropped dramatically.
The same happened under Mallett, Heyneke Meyer, Pieter de Villiers and as we all know under Coetzee we were terrible.
Every professional era Springbok coach falters in year three.
Have you figured it out yet?
Because they don't evolve.
I f you are happy to blindly follow the Boks, then that is your prerogative, I expect more, and I demand more. that is the kind of supporter I am.
Enjoy your bubble of blissful ignorance or acceptance, whichever you prefer.

Indeed.
Or RDW could just mean the Rugby Championship or Tri Nations (since 1996) where winning 2 or 3 in a row was a decent achievement for the Wallabies who have only won those trophies 4 times. The same as SA.
