Faz ruled out.

Furbank starting at 10 - Smith surely not fully fit!

Lawes skippering. Personally would have gone with Itoje or Curry.

If he's not fit whys he on the bench though. If Furbanknis injured after a minute what happens.

I'm not picking the side pal. I'd have Ford in the 23 with Smith and Farrell starting at 10 and 12 with everyone fit. To me the tactical difference Ford's control can offer from the bench is worth having in the matchday squad even with Smith starting. Especially with the 50-22 rule changing how sides defend the back field.

A general question which is just baffling me. Would have 3 tens in the match day squad myself. Oh well we wait for Smith in the 2nd half.

If Smith is fir he has to start. I am sure Furbank has enjoyed little more training at 10 than Smith has this week. We will just kill time until Smith arrives.

I think they are planning on Smith starting the next 2 tests and want to protect him today.

If Farrell is isolating for 10 days they have to bring Ford back into the squad surely

There is a replay on Sunday at 6:00pm on Sky sports 1. I presume this game clashes with as ABs v Italy. You will find all /most of the other games are broadcast live.

Sweet cheers OK

Its live Sky Sports 5.

Bright start from England. On the brief replay it looked a lot like Furbank was obstructing the defenders coming across though!

Yeah I was waiting on the TMO to call us back for that.

The talk about Furbank running at 10 during the well might have been overhyped. Youngs is constantly having to look for him and the backs moves look a little stilted. None of it looks like someone who's been given the minutes to make sure stepping in his seemless. Hopefully he grows into the game and the familiarisation comes.

He'll catch then all day. No idea why Curry then concedes a penalty trying to shield him.

He's doing Steward things. Nothing fancy just all the bits you want him to do to give confidence and space to his back three. His big tests are still to come but it's a good start so far.

I know but I think he was challenging for the ball...albeit a bit clumsily. Never a yellow card imo

With how those contests are now reffed it's not inconsistent to be yellow card but I've got to agree with Veainu that his eyes are on the ball. It's not like Daly's red card against Argentina when he took his eyes off the ball, over ran, wasn't even off the ground and wipes out the man in the air. Kata's eyes are on the ball and he is trying to compete, May has just completely beaten him by getting higher then they collide.

I'm not sure it was a genuine attempt for the ball, he would have known May was getting there first.

Courtney, Courtney, Courtney.

Steward seemed to get there a touch early and couldn't line him up properly.

For those questioning the pace of Steward he got back to TV there. Only managed to slow him down for Lawes to complete the job but catching TV is still a good effort. TV has pace for days and the step is still devastating, glad to see that he's still got it always been a player that's great to watch.

Same player has just left Underhill requiring medical treatment after stepping him in a space similar to a phone box.

He was coming across on an angle, My gran wouls have caught TV there. She'd have made a better attempt at a tackle too!

Apart from that, Steward has looked solid though. Furbank surprising a better 10 than 15 too!

Did well to slow him for me. And I disagree on Furbank good running ball in hand everything else suggests he's not a fly half for me.

A good try to round off a strong half for Youngs.

I've thought that Fubank has done pretty well overall, albeit with an armchair ride!

Hopefully Dombrandt can get on fairly early in the second half given the way they are dominating. I'd probably get Blamire and Stuart on early too so they get a chance.

I sometimes wonder if there's an alternative universe where Northampton rather than Tigers kept poaching Falcons players a few years back leading to a poster called General_Dooly on 707v2 slagging off every Saints player that comes near the England squad... Hug

Given TV's rep I wouldn't mark Steward down too much for missing him. That tackle by Lawes was a bit special.

Manu is looking very slim and is playing very well. He and Slade are switching between 12 and 13 as before.

Curry is doing good things but he's not Billy by any means

It has to be said it wasn't great from Steward and i'd want my full back making the tackle not relying on someone else to do it. If that was Daly we'd all be rightfully admonishing him.

The Rock at the back who has quick hands and an improving attack.
