ATP Rankings Top Two
For the first time since 2003: Djokovic, Nadal, Federer (or Murray) don't occupy a spot in the ATP Rankings top two.
Federer was at No. 3, behind No. 1 Andy Roddick and No. 2 Juan Carlos Ferrero, the week of Nov. 10, 2003.
969 weeks. Nearly 20 years! It might have gone the full 20 as well, if Djokovic had not drawn Rafa in the quarters at the FO this year instead of the final, or if Novak has not lost the US Open final, or if Rafa had not been injured and not fully recovered for Madrid-Rome.
1 Medvedev
2 Zverev
3 Djokovic
4 Nadal
Doesn´t feel the end of an era just yet though.....I´m not sure however if the above is a fair representation of who the best players currently are. Novak and Rafa have won 5 out of the last 6 slams. Apart from the Thiem-Zverev behind closed doors no crowd slam final at the USO final 2020, Federer - Cilic 2018 was the last slam final without either Rafa or Novak.
If I were giving odds for who would most likely get the most points in the next four slams, I´d have Medvedev 3rd and Zverev 4th.
There´s not much in it though. Things could change quickly even if Rafa and Novak stay fit and motivated.

or if Djokovic had not been thrown out of Australia by the Australian Government preventing him from taking up his place at the 2022 Australian Open or if Djokovic had not been denied entry to the US to compete at the two back to back Masters at Miami and Indian Wells.Henman Bill wrote:For the first time since 2003: Djokovic, Nadal, Federer (or Murray) don't occupy a spot in the ATP Rankings top two.

Meanwhile Roger Federer currently ranked 68 in the world will shortly drop out of the rankings altogether.

Time goes by
But one of them will return to top 3 sooner than later

Re: ATP Rankings Top Two
Something tells me that tournament directors will be open to the idea of giving Roger Federer a wildcard!

Re: ATP Rankings Top Two
Due to current entry rules for Canada and the US anyone not fully vaccinated (double jabbed and boostered) are not allowed in so currently Djokovic won't be competing at the 2022 US Open.

I think that rule may have changed a few days ago (certainly, the requirement for a negative LFT was removed), and if not almost certainly will in the next couple of months.
