I see the Luvvies have given tickets to 1500 Ukrainian refugees for Friday.
That's tripled the home crowd.
However have those poor people not suffered enough?

Last I heard Bru had two stones.
Luvvies will only score 34 points if they put 1500 Ukranians in the pack.

Re: Glasgow and Edinburgh 29 - Buckfast & Bollinger
I thought we might see a bit more rotation from Glasgow for this game, but it looks like he is pretty much going all in.
The changes and resting I guess we will see next weekend away in France.
Looks a pretty solid team though, looking forward to the game

Luvvies would probably have been better running a raffle for the Ukranian visitors: two lucky ticket holders get tp be half backs for the evening.

King Boff signs on for another couple of years at Edinburgh, that is a seriously good bit of business. You can bet plenty clubs were interested in him!

Huge signing - he's right in his prime and will have had plenty of offers.
He'll be away a lot with Argentina but great when we have him.

The Boff is a great player.
Covers wing and 15 and has a deadly boot.
Not going to lie, he could be the difference tomorrow night

Re: Glasgow and Edinburgh 29 - Buckfast & Bollinger
Definitely shows that the SRU are in the game moneywise atm, there would no doubt have been some serious offers coming his way.
ATM though, PLR are skint and awash with good players looking for contracts. France is where the money is, but there are limits on foreign players now and an active Argentinian international, who will miss chunks of the season and be in revovery for other bits, may not be as attractive as an ex international All Black or Saffer.
Edinburgh will no doubt be paying decent money for him, but from what we have seen so fsr, he will be well worth it.

Similarly the Irish press press are running with Toonie asking Ben Healey to sign for either Scottish side so he can play for Scotland with a clear conscience. Does seem to indicate that perhaps, possibly, just maybe Blarehorn isn't really the world class 10 Toonie said he would become.

Re: Glasgow and Edinburgh 29 - Buckfast & Bollinger
Not so sure about that Jim
Maybe more about the future. Neither side are stacked with FH talent and consequently any SQ FH needs to be looked at. The jury is out if he is international quality atm, but he is certainly a better option than Duncy or VDW now and likely as good/better than Thompson and Savala.
If he is available, then we should be looking. His career has stalled at Munster, but no doubt he is a good player.

The new contract for Boff is terrific news.
Pyrgos at 9 is less good news. Advantage Glasgow until Shiel comes on!

Re: Glasgow and Edinburgh 29 - Buckfast & Bollinger
The only worry the signing Boffelli was the Edinburgh management appear to have done absolutely everything in their power to keep him.
By which I think they mean spending a massive wad of cash.
What will the knock on effect be on other contacts that are negotiated in the next couple of seasons ?

Re: Glasgow and Edinburgh 29 - Buckfast & Bollinger
This, in conjunction with signing DTH on a multi year deal. The SRU seem to be throwing a decent sledge of cash at Edinburgh at the moment!
Either they've seen the cost that's required to compete or we are about to see some big money earners get punted on
Bill mata maybe, Nel to retire at some point, Watson is slowly becoming decrepit (admittedly like a granite boulder under an ice flow), pyrgos to retire or move on?
There's a surprising amount of edinburghs old guard who are becoming pushed out by younger pretenders

We'll likely see a few of the old guard moving on east and west at the end of the season.
Weir and Wilson at Glasgow surely, maybe Brown as well.
Nelly, HP and McInally at Edinburgh spring to mind as well.
There will likely be others as well

Piss poor defending from Edinburgh - that was embarrassing.

Crossed my mind as well. Not sure that the refs justification that it was slow ball therefore not cynical makes any sense!

It was slow because of the penalty indiscretion!

I thought that for Crosby's try Cruse ran in front of him just before the line and cleated out Price and Cancelliere.

But I agree the ref has been poor. The first scrum pen was a complete joke, and both sides have been cynical at the breakdown without warning, particularly in opposition 22.
