Premiership Round 15
First topic message reminder :
I really like having games on Friday afternoon (my time). I work most of the day then have a chance to get home, relax, and put on the Rugby with a pint and let the week disappear. Great door-opener for the weekend.
Round 15
Fri 6 Jan Gloucester v Saracens (7.45pm, live on BT Sport)
Sat 7 Jan Newcastle v Leicester (2pm, live on BT Sport)
Sat 7 Jan Exeter v Northampton (4.30pm, live on BT Sport)
Sun 8 Jan Harlequins v Sale (3pm, live on BT Sport)
Sun 8 Jan London Irish v Bristol (3pm)
Big test for Saints going down to Devon. Chiefs are struggling a bit and a great time for Saints to visit.

Aye, need to be more clinical whilst we're on top, Leicester will have a period of pressure in this game.

Brocklebank has become a very good LH...in fact our front row is strong these days. Still think Enhland would be wrong not to have another look at Trevor Davison.

Ref blew too early there - that's potentially 14 points he's taken off Falcons now

Did he injured himself celebrating or just take a knock from a team mate in the jubblies.

Yes he has and his lineout has been solid. It's why McGuigan was allowed to go ..it was one or the other.
Now that's he's starting he should be back in the England squad.

Yup. Always thought it was a bit odd he'd disappeared given he'd been largely impressive from the bench.

They've missed at least two clear penalty tries there as well.
That never went forward either he loses control but it goes back.
Wigglesworth will be struggling to keep the job until the end of the season at this rate. The organisation and intensity the team was built on is missing.

I do think he's having to do more in the loose at times this season and so hasn't quite got the energy of the opposition props who aren't leading the kick chase etc. The backrow and hooker injuries aren't helping.

Bit harsh on Wiggy maybe? Since he took over (not long ago) haven't Tiger's lost a lot of key players to injury?

To be fair he's missed a lot that would have gone in Newcastle's favour too.
Can't agree, really obvious knock on to my eyes. Think perhaps Newcastle were a bit lucky that it was spotted, but once it was the try was always going to get chalked off.

Perhaps it is the inbuilt pessimism of a Newcastle fan, but I'm still worried that we are going to lose this. Leicester get a couple of quick score and I'll be on the edge of the sofa.

I missed the first 25 mins unfortunately but since then he's been rather generous to you. Case in point another advantage when the try is scored but he's forgotten next penalty in the 22 warning at the end of the first half.
Possibly good Sam Stuart's 'tackle' on Liebenburg before the try wasn't reviewed as well.

It's a cross against borthwicks name if he hadn't deemed it necessary to fitness test Blamire or Radwan this week among 40 odd players.

It's just the one idiot. James Cronin again, having given a completely pointless blocking penalty away. Radwan was never going to trouble the catcher. I don't know why he's still on the pitch.
Nice maul work for Falcons, routine score.

Depends if they were available or not. Had they got niggles or bangs from last weekend they might have just had phone calls rather than putting them through a fitness test

Was he also the one that talked back to get the extra 10?
