6CWF Presents Proving Grounds - Season Premiere Results - Monday May 8th 2023
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]*The show begins from live inside the Copper Box in London as “All of the lights” is blazing from the speakers. There are 7,000 fans packed inside for the Season Premiere of the brand new 6CWF. We are introduced to the show by Jeff Thadeus and RJ before an in-depth video package plays that highlights many of the great moments from 6WF & 6CW.
The set-up of the arena shows that the ramp runs directly from the stage and attaches to the ring apron. The black aprons are adorned with “6CWF Proving Grounds” in golden text and the ring ropes are blood red. There is a huge screen VIPTron over the front of the stage as pyros now explode high into the arena air.
*The 6CWF announce table is situated on the left hand side of the stage before the cameras pan around to show us Spanish, Japanese and Social Media announce desks situated at ringside.
*There is an almighty reception from the crowd as “Here comes the boom” hits the airwaves and JJ Johnson is live inside the Copper Box. JJ is full of life as he works the audience in his trademark manner. He greets the commentary team and then makes his way to ringside as the fans chant his name.
JJ is on the mic and he’s delighted to be part of history. He praises the loyal fans and welcomes everyone back to the greatest wrestling promotion in the world. JJ points out that Harold and Henry Lloyd are running the Social Media announce desk and says there’s plenty more surprises to come here tonight.
JJ points back to his press conference last week and reiterates the points he made on how things are going to run around here. Johnson tells us that every single member of his appointed “Board of Directors” is attendance here tonight and he’s sure they will be announcing themselves throughout the night. JJ wants us to get back to what brought us to the dance and he’s leaving all egos at the door…..this is about creating the best damn wrestling product on the market and that starts right here tonight. JJ promises that the fans are going to get more than their money’s worth each and every week.
Johnson now wants to talk about a huge point of contention that has been doing the rounds since his announcement last week and that is the status of both the 6WF & 6CW World Heavyweight Championships. JJ says both championships have incredible history and prestige and he wants to preserve that. He understands that last time the doors were open there were two men who held these championships but those days are done and the titles are now property of VIP Promotions and 6CWF.
JJ wants to see these championships earned by the most worthy superstars and that means he wants to see all-out war from the guys in the back to prove they deserve the honour of wearing one of those belts around their waist. There will be no rushed decisions and there will be no hand outs. Friday June 9th at the “From the Ashes” premium event world champions will be crowned and from this point forward it is down to the wrestlers in the back to prove they deserve to be in contention when that time comes.
JJ tells us he isn’t going to get bogged down in how many championships will be introduced or just how the champions will be decided because that will “give all the fun away” but promises high octane action from the moment the first bell rings here tonight.
Johnson says this promotion belongs to the fans and their love made this all possible. They want to give back for all the support and that means producing the best product imaginable with the best superstars at the forefront and leading 6CWF into the greatest era ever known.
The crowd are stunned as Clarke James interrupts JJ’s opener. CJ soaks up the atmosphere before striding down to the ring. JJ wants to welcome Clarke back and he’s happy to see him but James shuts him down. James looks at JJ with disgust and shakes his head.
CJ wants us to take a trip down memory lane and we get a VT showing the last few months of 2021 when Clarke was crowned 6CW World Champion by brutalising Marshall Murdoch. We get clips of horrendous assaults on Perfect Jack and Jackson Jackson as well.
Clarke didn’t want it to come to this but he needs JJ to understand what he had to sacrifice to get to the top. Marshall and PJ especially were “like brothers” but they stood in his way and he just could not allow that to happen. CJ has given everything to this industry and just when he finally got what he deserved….6CW closed its doors.
And just a couple of weeks ago a ray of light presented itself. The re-emergence of 6CWF led by one of CJ’s greatest friends JJ Johnson. Clarke was sure that meant he would be reinstated at 6CW World Champion and allowed to cement himself as the greatest ever. But no!
Because now JJ has shown himself just like the others. Desperate and jealous. Happy for Clarke to be his bridesmaid, supporting actor but never the lead. CJ accuses Johnson of pulling the rug from underneath him.
JJ is taken aback and shocked by CJs accusations. JJ believes and always has that Clarke was world championship material. He was delighted for Clarke, despite his questionable actions, to get his name up in lights and was sorry 6CW ended the way it did. JJ wanted CJ back and offered the olive branch last week so Clarke could come in and prove himself once more.
This riles James up. He doesn’t need to “prove” anything and he spits at JJ’s feet, telling him to shove his olive branch. James is here because he is the rightful 6CW World Champion and he wants JJ to acknowledge that here tonight. He wants his championship back right now.
JJ looks disappointed and tells CJ that isn’t going to happen. He has a contract in the back for Clarke to sign as a member of the 6CWF roster but if James wants to be known as world champion then he needs to get in the ring and earn it.
James has a dark smile on his face and he wants the VT played again. He wants JJ to watch carefully. He wants Johnson to see what James is capable of and what lengths he was willing to go to despite his history and bonds with the men in question. JJ sees where James is going but he isn’t backing down and tells CJ he should know better than trying to intimidate The Franchise. JJ says the contract will be there all night and he hopes CJ sees sense and signs before the show ends.
There is a definite air and expectance of a Clarke James attack but he merely sneers at JJ and leaves the ring. The commentators are quick to hype up what we have just seen between the two former friends.
JJ is definitely knocked by the confrontation as Clarke leaves. He takes a moment to compose himself and then says enough of him talking. The people came to see professional wrestling and that is exactly what they are going to get.
*Just for reference on how the elevated ramp would look

Re: 6CWF Presents Proving Grounds - Season Premiere Results - Monday May 8th 2023
*We come back from an advert for “The Boys” Season 4 and the crowd go wild as JJ Johnson greets his beautiful wife Brandi Johnson in the backstage area. The two embrace and it becomes clear that Brandi Johnson will be acting as a member of the 6CWF Board and as JJ’s chief confidante. Brandi doesn’t seem impressed by Clarke James but JJ tells her to let it play out. Brandi isn’t happy that CJ has been in their home, played with their children, and yet has the audacity to treat JJ that way. Johnson tells his wife that the lure of gold and power can corrupt even the greatest minds but he thinks CJ will come round. He wants James on the roster and hopes he’ll sign the contract.
*More cheers as Cameron Faith has arrived at the Copper Box. Timothy Allen manages to catch up with Faith for a quick interview and Faith is in good spirits. Faith knows that there’s a lot of “what ifs” in regards to his wrestling career but he sees this as his best chance ever. He says he’s in the best shape of his life and he’s done his best to remove all distractions from his life. Tim Allen jokes “Does that mean Kristal isn’t around” and Faith responds “That’s my wife now” before bursting out laughing as Allen looks horrified. Faith says he should have been a world champion by now, everyone knows that, but he’s not feeling sorry for himself. This time around he will do everything and anything it takes to make that a reality.

Re: 6CWF Presents Proving Grounds - Season Premiere Results - Monday May 8th 2023
Bout 1
RJ: Cameron Faith showing huge heart right there…..
JT: I think most people thought it was all over…
Scorpion is up on his feet and he is slapping his hands in the referee’s face, indicating the count should have been faster. He looks down at Faith, who is holding his neck, and then he backs up into the corner and wills his opponent to stand…
RJ: Scorpion has Cameron Faith in the crosshairs here….he’s feeling this upset right now…..
JT: The fans in attendance were not expecting this…..
RJ: I have to be honest, neither was I….
JT: ARIZONA BA-OOOOOMMM!
*Huge cheers from the crowd
RJ: Out of nowhere…..
Scorpion sprints across the ring and he dives for the spear but Faith turns, from nowhere, and snaps off the superkick to the top of the head whilst Scorpion is in mid flight. Faith drops to his knees and rolls his foe over…
1.
….2
………3!
JT: And just like that, Cameron Faith is off the mark here in 6CWF….big win on the board…
RJ: He damn sure had to work hard for that, maybe harder than he would of expected…..Scorpion really pushed him….
JT: JJ Johnson told us this would be a competitive roster and he sure wasn’t lying……that was back and forth….but, in the end, Cameron Faith pulled out the big equaliser and he’s got the W….
RJ: Faith’s heart pulled him through tonight but there was definitely a vulnerability or two that the rest of the boys in the back will have noticed…
JT: That’s all well and good but if anyone walks onto that superkick then it’s “Goodnight Vienna”…..like a Deontay Wilder right hand….keeps him in the mix even against serious adversity….
Cameron Faith sits on the mat and takes a deep breath as the fans applaud him. He nods his head and then pats Scorpion on the shoulder before standing up, soaking up the adulation.
RJ: Do you see Cameron Faith in the title mix come From the Ashes?
JT: I’d say anything could happen….he’s the first man off the mark and I’m sure the Board of Directors will have been watching with great interest….
*The commentary team are hyped for the first bout of the night and they go wild as Cameron Faith makes his entrance. Faith bows to the crowd and then swaggers to the ring, clearly full of confidence.
*RJ and Jeff Thadeus talk about how Cameron Faith was once the hottest prospect in 6WF when he held the Freeweight & European Championships as well as the Fight for the Right briefcase but it just never quite clicked for various reasons. Faith has all the skills in the world but he has lacked discipline over the years. Can he finally fit all the pieces of the jigsaw together in this run?
*Faith works the crowd and then waits his mystery opponent. There is a stunned expression and a big ovation as Scorpion rides out on his chopper. Scorpion taunts the crowd, as endearing as ever, before making his way to the ring. He gets up in Faith’s face as the referee moves to separate them.
*RJ tells the audience about Scorpion’s run as 6WF Hardcore Champion and his former allegiance with Jessica Lawless. At one time it was believed he would be a main event star just like his opponent but once Jessica’s direction was removed he found himself struggling to establish himself.
*Early going sees Scorpion slap Faith in the mouth, sparking boos from the crowd. Faith takes his foe down and goes to town with a barrage of punches before Scorpion rolls from the ring to safety.
*Faith nails a suicide dive and drives Scorpion into the ringside barrier before suplexing him onto the hard flooring. He gets Scorpion back in the ring but eats a kick to the head as he climbs through the ropes. Scorpion scores with a DDT from the ropes but Faith finds the ropes.
*Scorpion goes to the corner and climbs up. Faith responds with a dropkick and takes his opponent’s legs out from under him. Big time superplex scores from the Scotsman but Scorpion kicks out.
*Faith thinks about the superkick but Scorpion catches his foot and spins him around into a back suplex. Scorpion applies and STF and Faith is forced to endure nearly two minutes in the hold before he is able to reach the ropes.
*Scorpion argues with the referee and then sets for the “Death Stalker”. Faith puts the brakes on and counters the stunner into an inverted backbreaker/neckbreaker combo (Ghetto Blaster) for a two count.
*Faith heads for the corner but Scorpion is up with a hard right hand. Scorpion climbs up for another suplex but Faith fights him off and shoves him down. Faith stands on the top rope and spins on his heel before turning into a double rotation moonsault, only for Scorpion to move at the last minute.
*The audience are stunned as Scorpion nails the “Death Stalker” but Faith kicks out, sparking huge cheers.
RJ: Cameron Faith showing huge heart right there…..

Re: 6CWF Presents Proving Grounds - Season Premiere Results - Monday May 8th 2023
*Eddy Kent is interviewed by Clarissa. Alex Walker applauds as he walks into shot and Kent seems a bit surprised to see his former employer. Walker reveals, amidst huge boos from the crowd, that JJ Johnson has appointed him to the board because nobody can ignore Walker’s success in this business. Walker says he always knew Kent was destined for greatness, that’s why he hand-picked him. He’s proud of Kent’s achievements but he has a funny feeling that there is a whole lot more to come. Walker tells Kent he’s excited to see him go to work and they shake hands as the scene comes to an end.
*Scene changes and we see Liam Wood signing his contract with Brandi Johnson. Brandi welcomes Wood back and says it was a no brainer to VIP Promotions to bring him into the fold. Wood says it is a decade since his debut and he’s still got a whole lot of unfinished business, which made this decision easy. Brandi tells him that he will be make his re-debut next week on Proving Grounds.
*JJ Johnson is sitting in an executive office when Acer walks in, sparking yet more raucous cheers from the crowd. The two men hug and we find out that Acer is the fourth member of the 6CWF Board. Acer is so glad to be back in the business and appreciates JJ offering him the position. JJ waves him off and says Acer taught him so much and it was the least he could do. He knows Acer will help him take this promotion to the next level.
Acer wants to talk about Clarke James. He tells JJ that CJ came through the curtain and snatched his contract from Gorilla but, as of yet, nobody has a clue if he has signed it or not. Acer is concerned that JJ is making a mistake by bringing James back, given his penchant for causing horrifying injuries to talent and, especially, those with whom he has had a close personal connection. Acer warns JJ that men like Clarke James will do anything to get what they want.
JJ understands and appreciates Acer’s concerns and he agrees it is a risk. But he says he’s had wars with Acer over the years, wars with The Saint and yet they’re like brothers….he considers CJ a “brother” too and he can’t just turn his back on that….he’s trying to build the most successful wrestling promotion in the world and that means having a guy like Clarke James on the roster.
Acer looks unconvinced and tells JJ he is afraid this is a Pandora’s Box moment. He says he understands that they have fought over the years, same with Saint….but this isn’t the same…Acer tells JJ there is only one man he can compare to this version of Clarke James and JJ knows exactly who he means….JJ does not want to through that again and Acer is sure that Brandi will say the same.

Re: 6CWF Presents Proving Grounds - Season Premiere Results - Monday May 8th 2023
Bout 2
RJ: This has been a hellacious affair between two tremendous technicians….
JT: When two styles just gel this is exactly what you get….the fans in attendance are being treated to a fantastic battle….
RJ: Harris landed two huge blows there but Kent, the veteran, is digging deep into his intestinal fortitude…
JT: Everyone wants to make a big impression on the season premiere….
Harris clambers to his feet and he wipes a bead of sweat from his brow before fixing his attention back on Eddy Kent. Kent is wincing in pain and holding his jaw as he tries to reach his vertical base….
RJ: I’m not sure Kent knows exactly where he is right now….
JT: Well he better work it out quick because Scott Harris is not letting up…..”The Sharpshooter” is locked on…..SHOT IN THE DARK!
Kent gets up and Harris grabs him by the wrist and lifts him up into the “Olympic slam” but Kent counters with an armdrag takedown and he quickly rolls to the ground with Harris…
RJ: WHAT A COUNTER…..
JT: THAT GUILLOTINE IS LOCKED IN TIGHT….HARRIS DIDN’T EVEN SEE IT COMING!
There are some members of the crowd applauding Kent’s ingenuity as he manages to wrap his legs around Harris and synches in the guillotine choke. Harris is scrambling on the floor, his feet kicking out behind him…
RJ: Scott Harris felt he had this one sewn up….he thought he was one shot away….
JT: And he was….but all of a sudden he finds himself staring down the barrel of defeat….
Kent’s face is a picture of determination as he really tugs on the head of Harris, his arms locked under the chin and across the windpipe. Harris is reaching out with all of his appendages but is nowhere near to finding the refuge of the ropes…
RJ: I don’t see what Harris can do here…..
JT: He could do that!
There are cheers from the Harris fans as suddenly he throws caution to the wind and summons all of his strength to lift himself and Kent up off the mat. Kent’s face shows some surprise….
RJ: I can’t believe Harris even has the energy for this…
JT: He barely does….
RJ: He’s emptied the tank…
Harris is still reaching into thin air as Kent continues to rip and tear with the submission. Harris’ legs begin to wobble and suddenly he collapses back to his knees…
RJ: This one is over….
Ding ding
JT: What happened?
RJ: I don’t believe it….
JT: You wanna talk about saved by the bell?
Eddy Kent releases the submission hold and fist pumps the air but the referee pulls his arm down and is explaining something to him. Kent’s colour changes as anger gets the better of him….
RJ: This is incredible…..I think Scott Harris passed out from the “Kent Lock” but the fifteen minute time limit expired….
JT: I think Eddy Kent may be appealing this one…
RJ: He can appeal whatever he likes but I think the result is going to stand….fifteen minutes are up and this one is a draw…
Kent kicks the ropes in a fury and he’s yelling at the referee “He’s (beeping) asleep”. “I choked him out” but the official points at his watch.
JT: Eddy Kent is not impressed in the slightest and I get it but that’s what the time limits are for….
RJ: One second earlier and Kent has his arm raised in victory….this is quite simply incredible….I was not expecting this….
JT: What a match….both these guys put on a show….and I see no reason to not run it back….
RJ: Well we need a definitive finish….impressive performance by both men but neither man is taking away a W….
Scott Harris is sat up and asking the referee what happened as Kent shakes his head in disbelief and leaves the ring. Harris and Kent stare at one another before Kent walks backstage.
*Eddy Kent is the first superstar on for the next bout and is met by boos from the crowd after they have just heard his backstage interview. Kent ushers the camera toward him and tells us we are about to “witness greatness” before he uses the ropes to stretch off in preparation.
*We get RJ and Jeff Thadeus’ analysis on Kent. The former 6WF World Champion and breakout member of Genesis is certainly primed for a place in the Hall of Fame down the line but what is left in the tank of this once fan favourite. Kent has promised a much more cerebral approach to professional wrestling in this tenure. RJ wonders if Alex Walker being a member of the board will have any influence over Kent here in 6CWF.
*A complete contrast in fan reaction as Scott Harris is announced as Kent’s opposition. Harris removes his hood as he walks out onto the stage and taps his heart in appreciation of the support he is receiving. Harris reaches down and slaps hands with the fans by the rampway as he walks to the ring.
*We take a look at Harris’ glory days as a 6CW Tag Team Champion alongside Mike Masters. Harris was once looked upon as the standout graduate of 6CW’s “Snake Pit” development but a decade on and it is safe to say, despite his fantastic ring credentials, that he has not lived up to his expected hype.
*RJ and Jeff Thadeus are expecting a very technical battle as the referee goes over his instructions with both competitors. Kent is right up in Harris’ face as the bell sounds and shoves him back with his forehead before Harris responds with a full blown headbutt, sparking huge cheers from the crowd.
*Both men go to war with punches before Kent rakes the eyes of his opponent and then rakes down the back. He pushes Harris against the ropes and drops him with a knee lift to the gut before applying a seated chinlock.
*Harris battles out and manages to scoop Kent on his shoulders but Kent drops off and hits an inverted headlock backbreaker for a two count. Kent attempts a swinging neckbreaker but Harris spins through and nails an overhead suplex. Kent is back up and eats a t-bone suplex for another close call.
*Harris sets about trying to keep Kent grounded and pushes his foot into the spine as he stretches his opponent’s arms out behind him. Kent is able to squirm free and lands a hard elbow to the gut. He gets Harris on his shoulders for a fireman’s lift rolling slam but Harris falls off the back and nails a big release German suplex for two. Kent walks into a pendulum backbreaker and Harris attempts the sharpshooter but is pulled down into a guillotine.
*Harris fights and battles but is clearly restricted. He manages to shift his body so that Kent’s shoulders are on the mat and he is forced to release the submission before the referee counts to three.
*They get back up and Kent pulls Harris in close to the “Mic Check” position but Harris elbows free and then takes Kent down for a crossface attempt. They scramble on the ground before getting back up and Kent quickly nails the swinging neckbreaker for two.
*Harris crawls to the corner and Kent facewashes him before bouncing off the opposite ropes and returning with a brutal kick to the face (ala Matt Cardona). He drags Harris out into a cover but Harris kicks out.
*Kent goes to the corner and climbs up but Harris is up and sprints up the ropes. They do battle on the top rope as Kent blocks the top rope suplex before they topple sideways and land, hard, on the rampway.
*The referee’s count reaches eight as Kent runs at Harris but is caught in his grasp and overhead suplexed over the top rope into the ring. Harris goes up high and scores with a beautiful frogsplash but only gets a two count.
*Harris sets for the codebreaker but Kent leans out and lets his foe hit the deck. He slingshots Harris to the corner and then scoops him up and nails the rolling fireman’s slam but Harris kicks out.
*Kent drags Harris back up but is stunned by the codebreaker from nowhere. Harris charges off the ropes and hits a stiff shining wizard to his kneeling opponent but Kent, once again, shows resiliency to kick out.

Re: 6CWF Presents Proving Grounds - Season Premiere Results - Monday May 8th 2023
*We go backstage and it appears that some legendary members of 6CW & 6WF have been invited to the show and are being hosted in the VIP lounge by Diablo, who is revealed as the fifth member of the 6CWF Board. He is deep in conversation with Primetime and Hollywood Johnson before we get a shot of Xanthi Rose, Phoenix Rose (no relation) and former world champion GWC. There is also Sally Hendrix, Ryan Rose (again no relation), Sohail SRA, AJ Harvey and Blade. Diablo seems in his element as the host of the party and he’s trying to tempt GWC into a return before telling Xanthi Rose that she is a dead ringer for Rhea Ripley.
*Scene change and Scott Harris is talking with Jack Reynolds. Harris is as honest as ever and he knows he made a mistake and got lucky. But he’s taking heart from the fact that he didn’t lose and that as good as Kent performed, he didn’t get the job done. Reynolds asks Harris what he wants from here and Harris says the re-match with Kent. He knows Kent will want it and he sees no reason why the Board cannot order it immediately because they can’t leave it like that. Harris says he has goals to be a champion, he wants to be one of those names in the mix at “From the Ashes” and he needs Ws to make that happen.
*Tyler Roth receives a huge ovation as he interviewed by Tim Allen. Roth reiterates his comments from earlier in the week that he’s had success all around the world but being world champion here in 6CWF, where it all began, is his ultimate goal. Roth wants to face the biggest, baddest and best….he’s back for elite level competition and world championship gold. Allen askes if Roth has a preference on opposition but Roth just wants to reap the souls of the greats. Roth says actions will speaker louder than words and he’s heading out to ringside to make sure everyone hears him loud and clear

Re: 6CWF Presents Proving Grounds - Season Premiere Results - Monday May 8th 2023
Bout 3
JT: Apart from that early moment when Petrov surprised Tyler Roth before the bell I don’t think he’s had a second of offense…..Roth has been absolutely dominant….
RJ: I didn’t think I would ever see the day when anyone physically dominated Ivan Petrov in the way we have seen here tonight….Tyler Roth is even more impressive than I could have believed….
JT: This kind of performance is what became customary during Roth’s last run in 6CW….this is the man who was the most feared superstar in Japan….he ran roughshod over the New Japan roster…
RJ: Never mind that, he ran roughshod over every man he stepped in the cage with during his Bellator run….12 consecutive stoppages en route to winning the world title….
JT: It’s hard to imagine who, if anyone, can step to this man….WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT!
Ivan Petrov is all at sea, his legs buckling under him, but somehow he makes it up. Tyler Roth seems almost impressed as he pulls Petrov into the back suplex position and flips him over into the sickening powerbomb….
JT: He calls that The Reaping….
RJ: And I’d say Tyler Roth has claimed his first soul…..
1……………….2………………..3!
There are no surprises as the referee’s hand comes down and completes the three. “Riot” plays out of the speakers as Tyler Roth gets back to his feet and has his arm raised in victory….
RJ: I tell you we have seen some great wrestling already here tonight but how about that? Colour me impressed….
JT: Tyler Roth has officially put the 6CWF roster on notice…
RJ: Clarke James out here earlier making demands of the Board…….well CJ needs to be watching because that, right there, is how you get management’s attention…..how can you ignore Tyler Roth?
JT: Quite simply put….you can’t!.....Roth is the real deal, I’ve been saying it for a long time and it may be time for the UK wrestling scene to witness that first hand…..
RJ: I accept this is only night one but you want to talk about a man in contention for world titles then I present Tyler Roth….
The applause continues as Roth stands centre ring and takes in the adulation. It looks as though Jack Reynolds has made his way out to conduct an in-ring interview….
Reynolds: Tyler Roth….I mean what do you say…..where do you start? You said “bring on the competition” and then….
*Crowd pop
JT: No way….it cannot be….
RJ: Business just picked up….
Roth is listening to Jack Reynolds when suddenly “Remedy” booms through the airwaves and all eyes turn toward the stage. There is a loud bang of pyros before Marty Helms comes walking out through a plume of smoke….
JT: Everything we’ve just said about Tyler Roth….impressive, dominant, brutal…..I present to you “The Last Outlaw” himself…..
RJ: I don’t know a whole lot about Marty Helms but I know you do Jeff…..I feel the intensity in this arena so I know this is a huge moment….
JT: Beyond huge….Marty Helms is one of the most callous and destructive forces of the last decade in 6CW……this is the man who went toe to toe with the monster Cerberus and not only did he survive, he put Cerberus away….we haven’t seen the monster since…Marty Helms is as bad as they come…
RJ: Former 6CW World Champion?
JT: A real point of contention is that one….Marty Helms is never recognised as world champion, despite a moment in history when he was presented with the title….
RJ: But it was never ratified?
JT: Unfortunately it came at a time when 6CW was going out of business and Helms was never official…..since then he has chased that elusive title, causing uproar wherever he goes…
RJ: And I’m guessing that’s why he’s out here…
Jack Reynolds is backing away as Marty Helms walks across the rampway and climbs into the ring. He goes head to head with Tyler Roth….
JT: Marty Helms is 6’6. 280lbs…..Tyler Roth 6’4. 300lbs…..
RJ: Two behemoths staring one another down in the middle of that ring….
JT: Marty Helms will have purposefully picked Tyler Roth to target….he has no fear…
RJ: And why should he? Just look at him….
JT: Helms thrives in this kind of environment…..he never met a fight he didn’t like…..the prospect of going to war with someone like Tyler Roth will be a turn on to Marty Helms….
RJ: I think Tyler Roth feels the same way….
Both men are talking to one another and smiling as the energy of the crowd grows by the second. The cameras pick up on a piece of their conversation…
Helms: I heard you wanted some competition….so how about it, big boy?
Roth: Anytime, any place….
Helms: Let’s do it…
JT: Marty Helms is throwing down the gauntlet….
RJ: And it seems like Tyler Roth is more than happy to accept…..I tell you this could be one for the ages….
JT: Any fan of 6CW will have goosebumps right now…..this is a real dream clash….
RJ: I hope the Board of Directors are watching and they’re making official plans because the audience are making their feelings known….they want to see this go down….
*Tyler Roth and Marty Helms continue to talk to one another and goad each other before the action pans backstage.
*RJ and Jeff Thadeus are waxing lyrical about Roth’s immense strength as he paces the ring and shouts at Petrov to get back up.*Tyler Roth is met by a big ovation from the crowd. He shows off his immense frame and then motions a belt around his waist as he makes his way to ringside. The commentary team talk about Roth’s last run in 6CW and how he looked destined to become a world champion on these shores…emulating the success he’s had in Japan and Bellator. RJ says that Tyler Roth may be the most ferocious combat sports competitor we have ever seen in this company and that only the very best are going to be able to stand toe to toe with him.
*Roth tells the cameras “Bring on the competition” as the “Russian Nightmare” Ivan Petrov walks out onto the stage. RJ gives us the backstory on the former Crime Syndicate member who knocked off Abe Abercorn in his 6WF debut. Petrov never lived up to that reputation afterwards but he is clearly of formidable stature.
*Roth smirks at Petrov as they go head to head. Petrov suddenly wraps both hands around Roth’s throat and lifts him into a devastating chokebomb before the bell sounds to start the contest.
*Petrov cracks a huge uppercut under Roth’s chin as he staggers up and whips him across the ring before flattening him with a big boot as he returns. Roth kicks out on two
*Petrov drags Roth back up but is surprised by a big right hand to the throat. Roth nails a European uppercut and then a discus lariat. Petrov wobbles and Roth pushes him into the ropes before showing great strength to pop him into a powerbomb.
*Roth crashes into Petrov in the corner and nails ten straight clotheslines before showing his strength again by launching Petrov across the ring with a Biel throw.
*There is applause from the fans as Roth storms through Petrov with a huge spear. He raises an arm to the audience and then drags Petrov back up. He cradles him into a suplex and runs into the muscle buster (The Hangman).

Re: 6CWF Presents Proving Grounds - Season Premiere Results - Monday May 8th 2023
*We get a recap on Max Adamson’s press conference earlier in the week and the introduction of Rex Adamson. We go live now and Max is presenting the 6CWF Panel from inside the crowd area. He has Finlay (drinking a Guinness), Trish Stratus and Rock V2 as guests on the panel and they are covering what has gone down on the show so far. Adamson then introduces his nephew to the live crowd as Rex Adamson appears on the panel. Rex is man sausage-sure of himself and Max announces that Rex will be making his debut next week. They bounce off of one another as Max mocks Rock V2 that the Adamson Dynasty will make the Maivia’s a footnote when they are done….
Rex is trash talking and Max warns his nephew not to get carried away unless he wants his uncle to come out of retirement and put him in his place. Rex shuts Max down and tells him as good as he was….Rex will surpass all his achievements. Rex says next week the 6CWF fans will see greatness in the flesh. He challenges Finlay or Rock V2 to show up next week and be relevant for one last time…but he knows they are scared and he doesn’t blame them. Rex blows a kiss to Trish Stratus as he walks off. Max looks a mixture of proud and annoyed as he downs Finlay’s Guinness.
*More cheers as Uryu Ishida has arrived at the Copper Box. He is heading straight for the rooftops when he finds the door barred by Christy James, who is looking fantastic. Uryu seems surprised to see her and Christy reveals that JJ & Brandi called her and offered her a place on the Board. Uryu is delighted.
There is quite clearly plenty of spark between the two of them as we find out that Christy and Gazzy have separated and Christy believes that getting back to work is a great distraction from “all of that”. Uryu agrees but it is clear he is overjoyed. Ishida says he needs to go get ready and Christy says she just wanted to see him and wish him luck….she’s looking forward to him putting on a show for all of the fans.
Uryu heads for the roof as Brandi Johnson walks into shot. She raises her eyebrows at Christy and smiles as Christy tells her to “shut up” but cannot suppress a smile of her own.
*Lex Hart is back in 6CWF and he’s getting himself prepared for the next contest. He is strapping up his boots when he raises his head and finds himself face to face with Alex Walker. Walker has a big smile on his face and offers a handshake but Lex refuses it and wants to know why Walker is here. Walker informs Lex of his position on the Board and Hart cannot believe it. Walker says that Lex broke JJ’s neck but he still got a contract here so he shouldn’t be so surprised at Johnson’s generosity.
Lex tells Walker that whatever happened in the past is done. He doesn’t want to revisit it and he doesn’t want anything to do with Walker, at all. Walker says he is just here to help 6CWF, which causes Lex to scoff. Walker says he can understand the mistrust but Lex should take a look in the mirror before he judges others.
Hart is ready to retort when Eddy Kent enters the scene, still smarting from the earlier result. There is plenty of tension between the former Genesis teammates. Kent smirks at Lex and accuses him of putting on a “new face” but we all know a “leopard doesn’t change its spots”. Lex says Kent should remember his place but EK bites back that this isn’t 2012 anymore and he has outgrown and outshone Lex. He tells Hart he should be the one following nowadays. Lex and Kent square up as Walker presses them apart, although it is clear that he is enjoying it. Walker tells Lex he has a match and Lex stares at them both before turning away.
Kent badmouths Lex about “thinking he’s better than us” as he leaves and Walker merely listens, giving no indication of his opinion. Kent then turns to Walker and says he’s happy they ran into each other again. Kent wants to request a re-match with Scott Harris or an overturn of the result after what went down. Walker says he doesn’t carry the power to overturn results and he doesn’t believe the Board will carry that motion but he will certainly push the re-match as it is what’s best for business and will draw great ratings. Walker tells Kent “don’t leave anything to chance next time. Remember everything you’ve learned over the years”. He winks at Kent and walks off as Kent smirks.

Re: 6CWF Presents Proving Grounds - Season Premiere Results - Monday May 8th 2023
6CW Blast from the past:
20th April 2009 - Dicey Reilly/Daniel Reilly vs Triple X/AK Worthy - First ever Escalation
20th April 2009 - Dicey Reilly/Daniel Reilly vs Triple X/AK Worthy - First ever Escalation
Henry: ‘That is true but right now, it’s time for our first tag team match. Dicey and Daniel Riley Vs Triple X and AK Worthy. These 4 men will face each other next in qualifying matches for Night of Glory.’
Harold: ‘Well as long as they beat the hell out of each other then next week will be a breeze.’
Born to Fight starts to play as Dicey Riley makes his way into the ring.
Harold: ‘Dicey is one mean son of a gun. According to him he’s here to fight.’
Henry: ‘Just fight.’
Harold: ‘Yep my kind of man.’
Big Things Poppin’ starts to play as Daniel Riley makes his way to the ring.
Henry: ‘And here’s Daniel Riley, no relation to Dicey but just as nasty.’
Hunt you Down reverberates around the arena as Triple X makes his way to the ring.
Harold: ‘And here he is the next big failure in sports entertainment.’
Triple X enters the ring and smiles at the Lloyd’s at ringside.
Harold: ‘Wipe the smirk off your face you idiot, and get on with the match.’
Born of Osiris plays as the crowd erupts! AK Worthy comes out and makes his way to the ring.
Henry: ‘Here comes the phoenix. AK Worthy seems to have captured the imagination of the 6CW fans. The former marine has spent time in Iraq and now is here in 6CW.’
Harold: ‘Thing about Iraq you have guns, here there’s nothing to help.’
The bell rings and the match begins. Daniel and Dicey begin arguing over who should start off. X and AK look at each other, shrug there shoulders and charge the Riley’s from behind and begin beating on them. They separate them into opposite corners and Irish whip them into each other.
Henry: ‘I think the Riley’s just gave each a non family hug in the middle of the ring. And now a double clothesline sends the Riley’s to the outside.’
Dicey and Daniel help each other stand up as AK heads up top.
Henry: ‘What a shooting star press onto the Riley’s from AK Worthy.’
Triple X joins the other 3 men on the outside and throws Dicey back into the ring. He checks on AK then rolls back in the ring where he is met by the boot of Riley. Riley continues laying the boots in X as Daniel makes his way to the corner. Tag made to the other Riley, and he hits X with a huge scoop slam. Leg drop onto X.
Harold: ‘1, 2… kick out’
AK Worthy is just about making his way back to the corner, when Jack and Jill start walking to the ring to a chorus of boo’s. Dicey and AK stare down the two bodyguards. Tag to Dicey.
Henry: ‘Dicey does not seem happy to have Jack and Jill here.’
Harold: ‘Neither does AK Worthy, but from what I’ve heard they both deserve what Jack and Jill are gonna dish out.’
Dicey whips X across the ring and hits a big standing drop kick. Dicey gets to one knee and smiles. He covers X, but AK breaks it up. The ref pushes him out of the ring, as Dicey and Daniel stand hammering away on the back of X and hit a big time double suplex.
Henry: ‘Big double suplex from Dicey and Daniel on X. AK Worthy really needs to get into this match.’
Harold: ‘Why, let him watch X get destroyed. With any luck he’ll get him next week and it’ll be easy for him.’
Daniel tags in, whips X into the ropes and hits a snap hurracarana. Cover but only gets a 2 count. Daniel flips the bird at AK who tries to storm the ring, but the ref holds him back, as Dicey and Daniel double team X. Dicey now with X and sets him up for a brain buster.
Harold: ‘Game over for X here, good job there’s not much brain in there to damage, ouch.’
Cover
Henry: ‘1, 2 kick out at 2 and 7/8’s.’
Dicey does not look happy. He picks X up and sets him up for a piledriver.
Harold: ‘CraicDown time.’
Henry: ‘This is the end for sure.’
Dicey hits the CraicDown piledriver and covers X.
Henry: ‘1, 2, broken up by AK Worthy.’
AK starts hammering away on Dicey as the ref tries to grab hold of him. AK pushes the ref away as Daniel runs into the ring. The ref rings the bell. AK starts to hammer away on Daniel as Jack and Jill get up onto the apron. They stare at AK.
Harold: ‘Your in trouble now.’
AK grabs Daniel and sets him up for the curb stomp.
Harold: ‘Night night Daniel, say goodbye to your front teeth.’
Henry: ‘Curb Stomp! Daniel looks gone.’
AK stares at Jack and Jill as they smile and jump off the apron and make there way back up the ramp, keeping there eyes on AK Worthy.
‘The winners of this bout as a result of a DQ, Daniel Riley and Dicey Riley.’
AK goes ballistic as the ref sprints from the ring. X is holding his head on the outside as Dicey holds his arm up in the air smiling while walking up the ramp. AK sees Daniel lying motionless in the ring.
Henry: ‘Come on kid, don’t. You’ve proved a point already.’
Harold: ‘Go on, do it. Think about next week. Boom! Curb Stomp number 2.’
AK Worthy hits the curb stomp for a 2nd time on Daniel as Born of Osiris starts to play.

Re: 6CWF Presents Proving Grounds - Season Premiere Results - Monday May 8th 2023
Bout 4
RJ: This has been spectacular….
JT: The audience certainly agree….this would be worthy of any pay per view event….
RJ: Hill and Hart rolling back the years….but who will come out on top?
JT: Lex has forced himself an opening here…..FLATLINE!
Hill is slow to reach his feet, sucking in deep breaths, but eventually he rises and turns straight into an RKO…
RJ: Backslide….
1….
..
……..2
..
………………Hart kicks out!
JT: So so close…..
RJ: Hill-can-rana!
Lex squirms free of the backslide counter and both men scurry for their feet. Hill leaps through the air this time for a hurricanrana but Hart catches him in a powerbomb position and drops him down across his knee before twisting him over into the sharpshooter…
JT: That backbreaker was devastating….
RJ: Almost as devastating as this submission hold…..
JT: Hart family speciality……perfected in the dungeon….
Mike Hill’s yells of pain fill the air as Lex sits right back into the hold and really turns up the pressure. The referee is down on his knees and asking Hill if he’d like to give it up….
RJ: Mike Hill is a tough son of a gun, always has been….but this submission hold is murderous….
JT: The best in the business have fallen to this hold….
The crowd are split in their support as Lex continues to pull back on the legs of his opponent. Hill claws at the canvass and tries to drag himself toward the ropes…
JT: Hill fighting with all he’s got here….
RJ: And Lex will be aware that a lot of time has elapsed here….he won’t want the same situation as Eddy Kent earlier….
JT: Hill is inches away…
Mike Hill has, somehow, got himself within touching distance of the bottom rope and he reaches out to grab them but then Lex pulls him forward into the centre and reapplies the submission with a vengeance….
RJ: Mike Hill thought he was safe….but Lex Hart showing tremendous ring awareness….
JT: I’m not sure he can withstand much more…
Hill’s face is a picture of pain as his legs are contorted at a horrible angle. The referee is urging Hill to think through his options and eventually he has no choice but to tap his hand to the mat…
RJ: I don’t think Hill had any other option….
JT: There’s no shame in that….Lex Hart is a master technician….
The bell sounds as Lex releases the submission and has his arm raised in victory by the official. He nods his head and then bends over to take a deep breath….
RJ: Hell of a battle between two of the best to ever lace them up…..they want back and forth, back and forth….on another night that could have easily swung the other way but Lex Hart withstood Hill’s onslaught and when the opportunity presented itself, he capitalised…
JT: Lex Hart is victorious and that will have impressed many in the back….but both of these legends have shown there is plenty left in the tank….
RJ: A cracking contest….JJ Johnson promised tonight would deliver and he wasn’t kidding……
Lex climbs the turnbuckle and basks in the adulation of the crowd as Mike Hill rolls from the ring, holding the bottom of his back. Hart urges the crowd to applaud Hill’s effort before climbing out onto the stage. Clarissa walks out to join Lex….
Clarissa: Lex….massive victory on your return to the ring…..how are you feeling to get off the mark here in 6CWF?
Hart: Feels great Clarissa….it really does…..there’s life in this old dog yet so don’t go counting me out…hats off to Mike, he put up one hell of a fight….he’s one of the best and I knew as soon as his music hit that I was going to need my absolute best in order to win…..
Clarissa: Are you confident that your victory here will have impressed the Board? Do you like your chances of being in contention for a world title shot?
Hart: I have no idea what to expect but I keep putting those Ws on the board and I’m hoping I’ll be impossible to ignore….the Black Hart is still beating strong…..
Clarissa: Any preference on who you face next?
Hart: Whoever, bring them on….I know this is a talented roster and I know every time I step through these ropes I need to perform but I believe in myself and my capabilities….I believe I can still reach the pinnacle of this business and that means beating them all….so no preferences, I’ll fight anyone…
Clarissa: Congratulations Lex, enjoy the rest of your evening.
Lex smiles at Clarissa and then waves at the crowd, who are cheering him on, before Mike Hill climbs out onto the rampway, looking a little forlorn. The cameras pick up on the two men as Lex says “Great match” and Hill nods. Hart extends his hand for the shake and Hill accepts.
JT: Great show of respect there from two of the greats…..OH CMON!
Hill’s face darkens suddenly and he lashes a brutal low kick right between Hart’s legs. Lex falls into Hill, in serious pain, before Hill throws him to the floor. Clarissa is standing, looking aghast, as Hill snatches the mic from her.
Hill: Son of (beep)….thinking you can get the better of Mike Hill and then shake my hand like we’re friends…..you know for the last few years I have had to wh0re myself out for a goddamn pay check and now I come back and I’m supposed to be grateful for the opportunity whilst I’m losing to the Pariah of Pro Wrestling, Lex Hart….
You people make me sick….
*Huge boos now for Hill
Hill: Years in the wilderness, fighting in stables in front of half a dozen yokels to get over a young talent who has no opportunity of ever making it…..and now I’m back and it’s the same old (beep)….
Mike Hill has headlined Born in Fire, Mike Hill is a three time champion of the world….and still you disrespect me…..you people have never believed in me, you have never given me my flowers and despite everything I have done and accomplished, you left me out there to die in the wastelands….
Well this time it’s different…..this time I’m gonna take everything that I’ve had coming to me….this time I will do whatever I have to make it to the top, this time it’s on my terms….
Because I’m not the “next big thing”….I am the “big thing” in pro wrestling and it’s about time you acknowledged that……
You don’t have to like me…..but you will respect me…..because I am that damn good!
*The boos continue as Hill passes the mic back to Clarissa and he spits down on Lex Hart.
RJ: Yeah I’ve seen this side of Mike Hill before, but never dialled up this high….I’d say 6CWF needs to watch out….
*Huge reaction inside the Copper Box as Lex Hart arrives. He is dressed in his trademark pink and black trunks and he works the crowd as the commentators make the introductions. RJ and Jeff Thadeus are both wondering what version of Lex Hart’s character we are going to get here in 6CWF. Jeff Thadeus is intrigued by what we have just seen backstage between Lex/Alex Walker & Eddy Kent.
*The commentators continue to talk about Lex as a former 6CW & 6WF Champion and how he’ll be looking to add to his legacy. “Next Big Thing” then hits the airwaves and Lex smiles as cheers ring all around. Mike Hill swaggers out and walks from one side of the stage to the other. He climbs up on the 6CWF announce table and continues to soak up the atmosphere.
*The commentators talk up this fantastic battle of two sure fire hall of famers with five world championship reigns between them as Hill springs into the ring and goes toe to toe with Hart. They shake hands, which sparks yet more cheers from the crowd. Jeff Thadeus is struggling to think of many previous meetings between these two men which is surprising given their extensive histories.
*The bout starts with some excellent athletic, chain wrestling. Lex tries to leapfrog Hill at one point but is caught in an inverted atomic drop and then chopped to the mat. Hill attempts a suplex but Hart floats over the back and takes his opponent down for a crossface but Hill rolls free and they get back up before scoring with a tandem dropkick.
*Lex whips Hill to the corner and follows in. Hill uses the ropes to leap up and wrap his legs around Hart’s neck before twisting out with an inverted headscissors. Hill nails a spinning heel kick and a standing shooting star for a two count.
*Hill heads for the corner but Hart is back up. Hill nails a leaping mule kick over the back and then attempts a snap superkick but Hart catches his foot and snaps off a dragon screw. Hart looks for the sharpshooter but Hill drags him into a cradle for another two count.
*They scramble up and Hart looks for another leapfrog but Hill catches his legs and drops him before twisting Lex into the liontamer. Hart is in a whole world of pain but manages to withstand almost two minutes in the hold before reaching the ropes.
*Lex rolls from the ring and Hill looks for a catapult crossbody but Hart moves and then scores with a snap dragon suplex on the hard floor. Lex lifts Hill up and lifts him into a front suplex across the ringside barrier before climbing onto the apron. Hart jumps off with a legdrop but Hill moves and Hart lands hard against the barrier
*Hill gets Lex back in the ring and nails a sunset plancha across the chest before he drags Lex into the centre for the liontamer. Lex kicks out and sends Hill to the corner. Lex chases in but Hill scores with a backheel kick to the gut and then sunset flips off the middle turnbuckle into a pin for a two.
*Hill looks for a running bulldog but Lex throws him into the ropes. Hart drags his foe back up into a piledriver but Hill kicks out at two. Hart then sets up for a jackhammer but Hill floats onto the shoulders of his opponent and pulls him into a crucifix pin for two.
*Back up and Lex sidesteps Hill and sends him against the turnbuckle and before nailing a big German suplex. Lex then hits a moonsault off the bottom and second ropes. He then attempts to complete the “Triple Bypass” with the BME off the top but Hill moves. Hill then nails a lionsault but Lex gets his shoulder up.
*There are huge cheers as the commentators talk up the action between two veterans of the game. Hill ushers Lex up for the “Over the Hill” but Lex shoves him away to the corner. Hill leaps onto the middle rope and backflips over Hart before dropping him with a pele kick as he turns around. Hill takes to the skies for the “next big move” but lands across the knees of Hart. Lex drags Hill up and nails a sambo suplex for a very close two count.
*Lex backs into the corner and lifts himself onto the second rope. He beckons Hill up and then leaps off for a destroyer but Hill puts on the brakes and swipes the legs before bridging over the top for another close call. They scramble back up and Hill dodges a right hand before springboarding onto the ropes for a tornado DDT but leaps back into a crunching dropkick from Hart.
RJ: This has been spectacular….
JT: The audience certainly agree….this would be worthy of any pay per view event….

Re: 6CWF Presents Proving Grounds - Season Premiere Results - Monday May 8th 2023
*Backstage and JJ Johnson is just leaving one of the offices, a sign on the wall next to it says “Contract signing in progress”. JJ closes the door and we don’t get to see who is sitting inside. He then turns and finds Marty Helms standing in front of him.
JJ welcomes Marty Helms back to the 6CWF roster but Helms isn’t here to shoot the breeze. Helms says Johnson brought him back because the whole world knows what he brings to the table, just like everyone knows that Helms belongs at the mountain top. JJ respects the hustle and the belief. Helms puts a hand on JJ’s shoulder, which causes JJ to glare at him.
Helms says the whole crowd was eating up the confrontation between himself and Tyler Roth. JJ must have seen it, he must know that a matchup is inevitable and that the ratings will go through the roof. JJ agrees but tells Helms it won’t be happening next week. Helms looks annoyed and wants to know who he’s facing.
JJ tells him that he knows they called Helms the “Monster Slayer” last time out because of what he did to Cerberus. So he wants to see him live up to that moniker in person because he knows a guy who isn’t too keen on the “Last Outlaw”. Helms challenges JJ to send an army because the result will be the same. And when he’s through with that, he wants Roth and he wants the world title.
*We get a change of scene and there is a big ovation as Tyler Roth is being interviewed by Jack Reynolds. Roth is glad to have blown away some of the cobwebs and show the 6CWF Universe exactly what he’s all about, incase they’d forgotten. Reynolds is gushing over Roth’s performance and how he was able to dominate such a formidable opponent. Roth says he barely even broke sweat but he knows there is much bigger and badder out there and he’s looking forward to the threat posed.
Which brings Reynolds onto the Marty Helms confrontation. Roth knows all about Helms. Says people forget they came up together in 2013 and were even teammates during The Authority era of 6CW. He was in the building when Marty Helms laid waste to Cerberus and he knows just how legit Helms is. Roth respects the fact that Helms stepped up and he’s more than happy to fight him whenever and wherever.
Roth finishes by saying that reaping Marty Helms’ soul will be a prized moment in his career.
*Liam Wood is finishing up some media duties after signing his contract. He is just finishing up with some headshots for the match graphics before walking away, not even stopping to talk to the designers. He heads out into a corridor and there are pictures all along the walks of great moments/superstars from the history of 6CW and 6WF. Wood walks down the corridor and gets to the end before retracing his steps to the other end. His expression seems to have grown darker as he reaches the end and realises there are no pictures of himself up on the wall. He stops in front of one particular picture and we don't see it but he rips it down off the wall and smashes it before walking away.

Re: 6CWF Presents Proving Grounds - Season Premiere Results - Monday May 8th 2023
Bout 5
JT: This match may actually just be about to get started….
RJ: Amazing considering what we have already witnessed….but the referee is primed to call for the bell….
JT: And Uryu is primed to go for the kill……BOOM…..HEADSHOT!
Ishida grabs the top rope and he picks his moment before springboarding back into the ring to detonate a flying forearm smash into the back of Shaw’s head, leaving him starched on the deck. Uryu stands over Shaw and takes a deep breath before pointing to the top rope…
JT: Considering Uryu was brutally assaulted before the bell, you’d never know it…he has completely dismantled Ethan Shaw here…..
RJ: I guess Uryu has been storing up this vengeance for the last two years…
JT: You’re damn right….Ethan Shaw caused havoc in Uryu’s life for months…..this is payback and an explanation point…..SPLIT SECOND!
Cheers ring out all around the Copper Box as Uryu comes off the top rope with his patented 450 splash and lands across Shaw’s chest…..the crowd chant along as Ishida hooks both of his opponent’s legs….
1.
….2
……3!
RJ: Chalk one up for Uryu Ishida…..he’s off the mark here in 6CWF….
JT: And he’s done it by knocking off a very bitter rival…..hell of a way to get things started for Ishida here in 6CWF…..
“Mr Blue Sky” is echoing through the speakers as Uryu kneels over Shaw and soaks up the magnitude of his achievement. He clambers up and heads to the corner, celebrating in front of his fans….
RJ: These fans can’t get enough of Uryu Ishida…..he really is ageing like a fine wine…..
JT: Uryu picking up where he left off two years ago…..statement made with aplomb and I’m sure his eyes are locked are a potential world title tilt at “From the Ashes”…..
RJ: It’s early days yet but if he continues with performances like that then who knows…..
JT: Penny for Christy James’ thoughts after seeing that….it has taken two years but finally she has been avenged…
*There is one of the biggest ovations of the night as Uryu Ishida makes his entrance onto the stage. Jeff Thadeus is giving us the low down on how Ishida seems to improving with each passing year and was one of 6CW’s premier talents over the last few years. The commentators are deliberating on whether Ishida, in what should be the twilight of his career, can finally get his hands upon a world championship when he is suddenly assaulted from behind by the maniacal Ethan Shaw.
*Jeff Thadeus fills us in and tells us the last time we saw Ethan Shaw he was embroiled in a rivalry with Uryu and GazzyD that culminated in Christy James falling from the Destination X structure. Many believed that feud is what sewed the seeds of Gazzy/Christy’s separation. It seems Shaw has unfinished business with Ishida.
*Shaw clatters Uryu into the 6CWF announce desk on the stage and then beats him across the ramp before launching him off the side, leaving him to slam down onto the hard ringside floor.
*The referee is trying to get some order but Shaw is in no mood as he whips Ishida into the steel steps and sends them flying. He then launches Uryu against the ringside barrier with such force that he flips upside down and clatters, spine-first.
*Shaw wraps a camera cable around Uryu’s throat and chokes him until he looks ready to pass out. Ethan Shaw then shoves the referee to the floor and grabs a steel chair from the timekeeper’s area.
*Shaw sends the chair toward Ishida’s skull but he ducks and it clatters against the ringpost. Uryu then leaps through the air with a heel kick that sends the chair clattering against Shaw’s head and sends him off balance. Uryu listens to the cheers of the audience and then he picks the chair up off the floor and throws it (ECW style) against Shaw’s face, leaving him slumped across the Spanish announce desk.
*Uryu takes a few moments of contemplation and then he drags a ladder out from under the ring and sets it up. He climbs up high and nods his head at the crowd’s encouragement before launching off with an incredible legdrop that crushes Shaw through the table.
*Ishida sits next to the ringside barrier for a moment with a smile as he watches Ethan Shaw crawl back toward the ring and attempt to find refuge. He gets back up and pulls himself onto the apron as Shaw tries to get back to his feet….

Michael Wire-He did it my god he did it!
The Saint celebrates in the crowd before going into the ring and on his knees is presented the 6WF title with a tear in his eye.He gets a box of matches out of his pocket and looks at the Casket but just throws them at the Casket and climbs the ropes to celebrate for five minutes before making his way to the back,as he reaches the curtain River Ace comes out and The Saint is ready to fight but River Ace claps him and The Saint holds the title up to Rivers face but River walks to the ring
RJ-He couldnt let The Saint have his moment, hasnt this man caused enough PAIN tonight?

Re: 6CWF Presents Proving Grounds - Season Premiere Results - Monday May 8th 2023
*We head to the back and JJ Johnson is gathered in the Board Room with the rest of the delegates. Brandi Johnson, Drake, Diablo, Alex Walker, Acer and Christy James are sat around the table with JJ at the head.
JJ first of asks if anyone has seen Clarke James since the beginning of the show or whether there has been any murmurs on the contract. Nobody has seen CJ. JJ looks disappointed but nods his head and they move on.
JJ wants to know if everyone is in agreement with the plan they have come up with in regards to the world title situation. JJ acknowledges that a couple of the board members, mentioning no names, wanted to hand pick and assign the world titles but they have reached a majority verdict and they are moving forward with it. He knows everyone around the table is a stakeholder in the company and deserves to have their opinion heard, but the majority must rule.
JJ points to the board behind him where they have drawn up the plan going forward. It seems as though a 6CW and 6WF World Champion will be crowned separately at “From the Ashes”. JJ says both companies deserve to be honoured and they will be. He says everyone on the roster will have their opportunity to stake their claim. And not just in this month but every month leading up to Night of Glory 2024 when the plan will be to unify the world championships together and have one man sat atop the mountain. This gives the roster 12 months to prove their credentials earn their position when that Undisputed Championship match comes around.
JJ then asks if there is any more business to attend to when Drake’s phone begins to ring. The former 6CW Owner makes his apologies but says he needs to take the call. Drake steps outside and looks apprehensive before answering.
We ascertain that whoever is on the phone has some kind of control over Drake. He tells them “I don’t have that sort of power, Johnson knocked the idea back”….he then says “I know I wouldn’t be on the board if it wasn’t for you and I know what you’ve asked of me but I need more time”
Drake is clearly concerned about the caller as he promises to “do better” and we find out they are coming to 6CWF next week. Drake looks worried and says he will “pull whatever strings I can”. Drake then asks about his lawyer and whether he delivered the documentation because he hasn’t heard from him but it seems the caller has hung up. Drake slumps against the wall and takes a deep breath.
*We head to Henry and Harold Lloyd at the 6CWF Social Media announce table. The brothers are buzzing from what we have seen so far and then they give us a couple of announcements on matches we will be seeing next week:
*Liam Wood & Marty Helms will both their in-ring returns
*Eddy Kent is set to go one on one with Cameron Faith
*And the show will be headlined by the in-ring debut of Rex Adamson as he squares off against multi-time world champion Lex Hart.
*Plus much, much more.
*Last change of scene as Uryu Ishida is grabbing a drink from the water cooler when we hear the clicking of heels and Christy James is there with a beaming smile. She congratulates Uryu on his win and is so thankful that he finally put Ethan Shaw in his place. Uryu is sorry he didn’t do it sooner, for all the hurt Shaw caused, but he’s glad that Shaw is finally gone and they can both move forwards.
Christy then gives Uryu a hug and as they break apart, GazzyD is standing there having just arrived at the building. Things are extremely tense before Gazzy just walks away and heads for the changing rooms.

Re: 6CWF Presents Proving Grounds - Season Premiere Results - Monday May 8th 2023
*A video plays and immediately screams can be heard as we enter what appears to be an underground room. The stone walls have lamps attached to them and then we get a glimpse of five men all congregated around another figure who appears to be strapped to a table. The man is talking in Japanese to the others around him and from his tone he is pleading. He then lets out another high pitched scream and is crying as one of his captors placed a cloth over his face and then another begins to pour water over it.
The man’s shirt has been unbuttoned and there are cuts on his body but the most alarming thing in the bloating of his stomach. One of the other men then picks up a rope with a huge knot tied in it. He dips the rope in some kind of liquid and then begins to lash it across the man’s stomach. His muffled cries of pain echo off the walls from underneath the cloth.
There are the sounds of footsteps and then another man enters the scene in a black suit. We catch a shot of his red hair as he passes underneath one of the lights on the wall.
One of the captors now turns to the newcomer and addresses him in English….
Captor: Oyabun…..the lawyer….I don’t think he can take much more…
*The newcomer walks over and he removes the cloth from the man’s head. The man takes a moment to readjust to the light and then looks even more fearful than ever as he looks up at the man above him.
Oyabun: He only needs to serve one more purpose…..we must show our beneficiary that failure will not be tolerated…..hold out his hand….
*The man tied to the table looks terrified. He tries to squirm free, to no avail, as one his captors holds up his left hand. The man referred to as “Oyabun” then produces a glistening kitana, almost from nowhere. You can see the inescapable fear in the man’s eyes.
Oyabun: Now this won’t hurt a bit…..but it will hurt a lot!
*There is a flash of light and the sound of metal as the man’s screams fill the air and blood splatters across the screen, running down it. A message appears across the bloody screen.
“All hail the half-blood King”.

Re: 6CWF Presents Proving Grounds - Season Premiere Results - Monday May 8th 2023
Main Event
RJ: This has been an exceptional night of action….
JT: 6CWF is back in town and this crowd have loved every minute…..the Copper Box is bouncing and I’m sure our broadcasters at Amazon Prime are delighted with what they have seen…
RJ: The season premiere has delivered and we are not done yet….no, sir…
“Freedom” hits the airwaves as the crowd in attendance rise to their feet in unison for the arrival of GazzyD. Silver pyros explode all along the front of the stage before Gazzy seems to leap through a trapdoor under the entrance…
JT: It is main event time…..and who else but the “history maker” to headline our first night back…
RJ: Multi-time 6CW World Champion….the beloved GazzyD is live….
JT: GazzyD has often been referred to as “Mr 6CW”…..but can he become “Mr 6CWF”?
RJ: And shall we address the elephant in the room?
JT: Go ahead…..GazzyD is married to Christy James, who we now know is a member of the Board….they are, however, separated and going through a tough time, personally…..
RJ: Troubles that have been going now since the last time 6CW was in operation?
JT: Absolutely…..a rift grew between the two when Christy struck up a friendship with Uryu Ishida….we’ve seen the interactions here tonight and we saw, just now, Gazzy walking in on Uryu and Christy sharing a moment following Ishida’s victory..
RJ: And how is that going to play into Gazzy’s state of mind here?
JT: Well that remains to be seen, for sure….but there’s no way that Gazzy isn’t affected….his estranged wife is still in contact with the man who he believed caused their marital issues….
RJ: Not only that but she was celebrating Uryu’s victory….
JT: Gazzy is one of the best in 6CW’s history, an actual living legend….but even legends, ones who have headlined Night of Glory on several occasions, will struggle to shrug off what they have just seen….
Gazzy stands on the stage and listens to the reception of the crowd. He has a steely gaze and his usual smile and buoyant atmosphere is clearly subdued. He swallows and nods his head before making his way to the ring. He clambers through the ropes…
RJ: It’s easier said than done but Gazzy needs to put that to the back of his mind, as best he can….because 6CWF has compiled an incredibly competitive roster and whoever is about to come through that curtain will be coming here with victory in mind….Gazzy can’t afford to be preoccupied…
JT: No he can’t….OH MY LORD!
The lights in the arena dim before “Broken Dreams” hits the airwaves and every fan in the arena rises to their feet. Red fireworks explode into the air…
JT: Arguably one of GazzyD’s biggest rivals…..former two time 6CW Champion……Daniel Reilly is back….
RJ: Even I know how big this is….Reilly is a cornerstone of 6CW and he and GazzyD have headlined multiple events in history….
JT: They sure have…..Reilly is one of the most deadly predators in 6CW history….you were saying earlier, RJ, about Gazzy being unable to take his eye off the ball here tonight…well that just went up a notch…..because you cannot afford even half a mistake against Daniel Reilly….he will punish you….
Reilly has a smile on his face as he stands halfway across the ramp and listens to the fans chanting his name. He then fixes his gaze upon GazzyD…
RJ: Penny for the thoughts of GazzyD right now…..he cannot have expected this….
JT: Expect the unexpected…..JJ said tonight would be “wild” and 6CWF is the gift that keeps on giving….GazzyD versus Daniel Reilly is headlining night one, this is huge…
Daniel Reilly climbs through the ropes and flashes a smile at GazzyD before turning to the fans to pose. He seems incredibly hyped…
JT: Daniel Reilly looks like he is in exceptional shape…perhaps the best condition of his career…
There is a definite split in the crowd as they chant for their favourite superstars. Reilly reaches out his hand and Gazzy slaps it, both men nodding at one another…
JT: I’m not sure Gazzy and Reilly are friends or ever will be but there is real mutual respect….
RJ: To be expected after years of rivalry…..
JT: So it’s the “history maker” versus the “king of the streets”…..6CWF Proving Grounds Season Premiere…..
The referee has a final word with both competitors and then he turns to the timekeeper and gives the call for the bell to start proceedings. Both men circle one another and then they engage in a lockup in the centre of the ring. Reilly quickly applies a headlock and some of the fans cheer before Gazzy bounces back against the ropes and shoves his opponent across the ring. Reilly comes back and he drops Gazzy with a shoulder tackle, sparking more cheers from his supporters….
RJ: I’d say we’ve got an almost 50-50 split here….
Gazzy gets back to his feet as Reilly urges him into another lockup. They tie up again before Gazzy pulls backwards toward the canvass and he uses his legs to push Reilly up over his head and crashing to the mat, giving his own fans something to cheer…
JT: Both of these men know each other so well….it isn’t surprising that they are trading control here….
Reilly gets back up and he nods his head at Gazzy before they tie up for a third time. This occasion Reilly draws back and boots Gazzy in the stomach before nailing a big European uppercut. He boots at the stomach again before whipping Gazzy across the ring….Gazzy flies back and baseball slides through Reilly’s legs but then gets back up into a beautiful dropkick…
RJ: Reilly had Gazzy scouted there….
Reilly helps Gazzy to get back up and nails another European uppercut before sending Gazzy toward the turnbuckle. Gazzy lands hard but then twists around the ropes and nails a kick over the top (ala Christian) as Reilly chases in after him. Reilly stumbles back toward centre ring as Gazzy pulls himself up the ropes and dives off with an elbow strike to the top of his foe’s head….
JT: Gazzy has always been one of the best high-fliers in the game…..I’d say that is the key to his success here tonight….
Reilly gets back to his feet and Gazzy lashes three chops to the chest before looking for his own Irish whip. Reilly, however, twists inside and then pulls Gazzy toward him and plants another boot to the midsection. He then lifts Gazzy into a suplex but Gazzy floats behind….
RJ: Half nelson!
Reilly elbows his way free of the “skull crushing finale” and then he uses Gazzy’s momentum to lift him up and hotshot him across the top rope. He pulls Gazzy away from the ropes and drops him with a back suplex……………1……………..2……………shoulder up. Reilly stands and he leaps into a heavy knee to the head before covering again……………1…………….2………kickout!
JT: Reilly loves this slow, methodical pace…..the complete antithesis of how GazzyD likes to operate…
Reilly pulls Gazzy up and he looks to flip him into a powerbomb position but Gazzy squirms off the back. Reilly turns and aims a right hand but Gazzy ducks it and takes Reilly off his feet with a spinning heel kick. Gazzy follows up with a standing moonsault……………1…………….2…………Reilly kicks out!
RJ: That’s how quickly Gazzy can turn it up and put himself on the front foot….
Gazzy listens to the crowd, half of which are cheering him on, and then he grabs Reilly’s arms and tries to hook him in place…
JT: It’s early doors but Gazzy thinks he can finish this…
RJ: This would certainly make a statement…..DEEP IMP-NOT TODAY!
Reilly fights against Gazzy’s grip and then he succeeds in swiping the legs of his opponent. Reilly smirks and then drops back, catapulting Gazzy to the corner. Gazzy, however, lands on the middle turnbuckle and then looks to twist back….
RJ: RKO!
Reilly is ready for Gazzy but Gazzy stays on the ropes, reacting at the final second, and causes Reilly to twist his ankle slightly. Gazzy then jumps off and dropkicks Reilly in the back of the head. Reilly gets back up and Gazzy lifts him into an exceptional Michinoku driver…
JT: Fantastic series of wrestling there…..
1……………..2………….kickout!
RJ: Reilly was ready for the RKO off the ropes but Gazzy saw it coming and pulled back….that’s what we were talking about with these two knowing each other so well…
Gazzy heads for the ropes again and he climbs up. He waits for Reilly to rise and then jumps toward him for a crossbody but Reilly rolls away at the final moment and sends Gazzy crashing on his knees. Gazzy gets back up as Reilly moves…
JT: RK-BACKSLIDE!
1.

……..Reilly kicks out. Both men scramble back to their feet and Gazzy dodges a clothesline before sprinting off the ropes, only to return into a spinning powerslam. Reilly quickly flips Gazzy up onto his shoulders and then drops him into a fallout neckbreaker (ala Randy Orton)……………….1………………..2……….kickout!
RJ: This is every bit as good as I thought it would be….
Reilly questions the referee’s count but is told it was a definite two. He looks down at Gazzy and delivers some hard stomps to the chest and stomach before heading for the corner. He climbs up high and then dives through the air for a frogsplash…
JT: Only found knees…..slingblade!
Gazzy drives his knees up into the gut of Reilly and then as they get back up Gazzy runs in and drops his opponent with the slingblade. He pulls Reilly closer to the corner…
RJ: Split-legged moonsault!
It is Reilly’s turn to drive his knees up this time and Gazzy is forced away in pain. Both men then get back up and Reilly leaps through the air for a hurricanrana before rolling right through and grabbing Gazzy’s foot….
JT: Anklelock…..that is fantastic….
There are cheers in the Copper Box as Reilly turns Gazzy onto his stomach and applies the submission. He really turns Gazzy’s ankle at a horrific angle….
RJ: Daniel Reilly has applied that hold, masterfully….
JT: Reilly has gone to the top of the mountain with this submission….
RJ: Gazzy may need to make the difficult decision here and tap….
Gazzy scrambles across the ring and makes a grab for the bottom rope but Reilly then drags him away and turns the pressure up. Gazzy manages to pull himself to a standing position whilst Reilly continues to crank on the ankle….
JT: Gazzy is in real danger here…..
RJ: TALK ABOUT A REPRIEVE!

Re: 6CWF Presents Proving Grounds - Season Premiere Results - Monday May 8th 2023
Gazzy, in the final throws of desperation, leaps into the air and uses his free foot to lash an enzeguiri kick against Reilly’s temple, breaking the submission, leaving both men slumped on the deck…
JT: Gazzy was staring down the barrel there….but he’s bought himself a lifeline…
RJ: But what damage has been done to that ankle?
Gazzy crawls to the ropes and pulls himself up. Reilly gets up and makes a beeline but Gazzy uses the ropes to lift himself up and kick out at Reilly, staggering him back. Gazzy then runs out toward his opponent…
JT: Tilt-a-whirl….
Reilly uses Gazzy’s momentum to spin him up and around but Gazzy lands out behind and nails Reilly with a backstabber. He hooks the leg…………………1…………………….2………………kickout. Gazzy looks at the referee in disbelief but is told it was a definite two count. He scrambles back to his feet….
RJ: Didn’t quite work out the way Gazzy wanted but he won’t be deterred…..HISTORY MAKER!
Gazzy waits for Reilly to rise and then pulls him into the inverted “twist of fate” but Reilly spins out and leaps into the air….
JT: RKO!
Gazzy slams the brakes on and he shoves Reilly into the ropes before jumping into the air for a hurricanrana on the comeback….
RJ: Reilly knew what was coming….
Reilly grabs at the ropes, stopping his momentum, and leaves Gazzy to slam down hard on his back in the centre of the ring. Gazzy’s head comes up off the deck as Reilly runs forward and delivers a thunderous kick to the face….Reilly stares down at his foe and then rushes for the corner….
JT: Reilly missed out last time but he isn’t fazed….he knows this is a game changer and one of the biggest moves in his arsenal….
RJ: LANDED ALL OF IT!
Reilly perches himself on the top rope and then he launches himself through the air and lands with a picture perfect frogsplash….
JT: That’ll do it…
1..
……2
………..three!
RJ: He got him…..did he get him?
JT: Referee said there was a shoulder up…..that must have been an inch or two at the most….
Reilly sits on the canvass and stares at the referee for a second and then shakes his head. He gets back to his vertical base and he contemplates his next move before grabbing at Gazzy’s ankle again…
RJ: Reilly knows he has Gazzy weakened and he’s going for it again here…
JT: Gazzy more prepared this time….
Gazzy is quick to throw himself into a forward roll and succeeds in sending Reilly clattering into the turnbuckle. Gazzy gives his ankle a shake and then he darts at Reilly….
RJ: Lookout here…
Reilly ducks his shoulder and he uses Gazzy’s momentum to backdrop him over the top rope and send him clattering onto the rampway…
JT: Bad landing there for GazzyD…
RJ: And I think Reilly is happy to possibly take a count out…
JT: Not sure the fans will like that….this is the main event…
Gazzy is holding the bottom of his back as the referee begins to deliver a count. Reilly is taking a moment to compose himself as the count reaches five…
RJ: That’s the thing with having the rampway attached to the ring….it can lead to bad landings like we just saw….
JT: Gazzy back up though…
RJ: Reilly ready to pounce….Oh wow!
Gazzy tries to clamber back through the middle rope but Reilly rushes over to him and grabs his head. He then tries to pull Gazzy through and into a hangman’s DDT off the ropes….Gazzy pulls himself back, just in time, and then spins on his heel with a pele kick over the ropes and collides with the top of Reilly’s head. Reilly stumbles toward the centre as Gazzy grips the top rope and springboards back in….
JT: FLYING FORE….
RJ: RKO!
JT: Would you look at that!
Gazzy sails through the air but Reilly has him scouted for the RKO in midair. Gazzy, however, lands on his feet and puts the block on the RKO before countering straight into the “History Maker” (Inverted Twist of Fate)…

JT: He got him!
RJ: Did he?
JT: Referee’s calling it!
Some of the crowd are unsure as Reilly seems to push his shoulder up but the referee’s hand touches down for the three count and he gets to his feet and signals for the bell to end proceedings…
RJ: I tell you, that had to have been incredibly close…
JT: It was inches, if that, but the referee is sticking with his call and GazzyD is off the mark here in 6CWF….
RJ: These two legends of the game fought tooth and nail…it ebbed and flowed but, in the end, GazzyD found the counter to unlock the door and just about squirm his way to victory…
JT: A very emotional night here for GazzyD for sure but this victory will go some way to appeasing him…
“Freedom” is playing out and the crowd are cheering what they have just witnessed, although there are sections of disgruntlement. Some of the fans clearly believe that Reilly has been hard done by…
RJ: Daniel Reilly is complaining to the referee….he’s adamant he kicked out….
JT: I think those complaints may fall on deaf ears but I see his point….it was razor thin….not even VAR could decipher that….
RJ: VAR can’t decipher clear decisions, let alone something like that…
Gazzy hears some of the boos from the crowd and he shrugs his shoulders as he looks over at Reilly, who is still remonstrating with the ref. Gazzy intimates to Reilly that he thought he got it. Reilly disagrees and has his hands on hips, looking crestfallen. Gazzy gives him a respectful nudge in the shoulder and shrugs again before turning away and celebrating in front of the sections of fans who are pleased with the result….
JT: Both men, understandably, disagree on the outcome there but GazzyD is the victor….
RJ: I understand Reilly’s frustration…..we know that world title opportunities are on the line for everyone on the roster and that, right there, could potentially harm him come “From the Ashes”….
Reilly takes one last look at Gazzy and then shakes his head and climbs from the ring. He looks annoyed as he traipses across the ramp toward the back. Gazzy hops down off the turnbuckle and takes a deep breath…
JT: A controversial ending to what was an epic contest….the main event lived up to the billing and completes what has been a fantastic Season Premiere of Proving Grounds….

Re: 6CWF Presents Proving Grounds - Season Premiere Results - Monday May 8th 2023
*There are screams and commotion from the backstage area and we can see a figure, face-down, on the floor, with a pool of blood around their head. JJ Johnson is on the scene and he slides to his knees to check on the victim.
JJ: We need a medic….and someone call a damn ambulance….Rocky, can you hear me, Rocky….cmon, man…..goddamit…..did anyone see what happened?
*Rock V2 is not moving as members of the backstage crew shake their heads to tell JJ that nobody saw anything…
???: JJ…
*Brandi Johnson runs into view as JJ turns towards his wife
Brandi: You should see this…
*She picks something up off the floor and hands it to JJ. We get a shot of a piece of paper on a clipboard. It is clearly a contract and the bottom of it has been signed in blood
Brandi: You got what you wanted….now he’s a part of the roster!
*JJ looks at his wife with a grimace and then cradles Rock V2’s head as we hear sirens and the show comes to a close.
