Surrey have named a 15 man squad for the opening T20 vitality blast game away to Middlesex at lords.
Sam Curran will captain the Surrey side in Chris Jordan’s absence (still at the IPL)
Jason Roy and Sunil Narine are both available Very Happy

Conor McKer has joined Nottinghamshire on a two week limited overs loan deal.
There is no place in the squad for Rory Burns, Ben Foakes, Dom Sibley or Ryan Patel.
Ollie Pope is away with England mad

Tom Curran and Jamie Overton are named in the squad probably as batsmen only.
The game will be shown live on sky sports cricket.

Worth noting Narine's awful recent form with the bat—I'm sure he'll still do well with the ball for us, but we shouldn't count on him scoring runs.

Agree with those you've picked to miss out, with the slight chance of Moriarty or Worrall playing ahead of TCurran

I have no inside info on Foakes but would guess that he's still upset after his England axing and wants time away. Still no way I would choose Steel.

I was about to ask if anything has been said about Roy but see it's mentioned now on twitter that he continues rehabilitation on his calf injury. The apparent silence made me wonder if there was trouble behind the scenes. Anyway, as soon as the injury is fixed, I'm sure he'll be jetting off for another overseas tournament, probably USA. Blake's got a few good scores for the stiffs and isn't a slouch either. Not in the Foakes class but a reasonable gloveman as well. Imagine he'll keep allowing Smith to focus on his batting.

Not aware that Foakes picked up any injury at Canterbury. They do seem to be easing him back gently after being binned by England ... Whistle

Off the top of my head, maybe Steel, Lawes and Moriarty to sit this one out.
