At the risk of dragging this topic out even further and boring you senseless, there are rumours that Matty Storton will be heading for Wakefield next year, I wonder if true whether it was a factor in the Warera-Hargreaves decision.

To be honest I'm not surprised. I like Storton and think he's been good whilst he's been at Rovers. But with Luckley signing a contract extension, and with King,Whitbread also for a few years, can't see where he's getting game time, shown so far this season.
Don't think it has anything to do with Warera-Hargreaves,  as will have to lose an overseas player, and think that's more likely Sue.

A win after a couple of defeats, and we were far more dominant than the score.
Perhaps helped by playing the three quarters we should have been in there right position. With Evalds at fb, Burgess,Hiku,Gildart,Hall.

Got my ticket for Fridays challenge Cup tie. Looking forward to it, should be a good game.

Big rumour that Rovers have signed Tom Davis from next year. If this is true, be interesting to see who Rovers get rid of, with Burgess only on a 1 year deal,  and Hall out of xonyract.

In sad news.

Phil Lowe has passed away, probably one of the best ever 2nd rowers the game has seen.

RiP,
Condolences to his family.

Well, still not seen the opposition score in my 2 games this season so far.

Really good 1st half, where we pretty much overwhelmed Salford won it. Looked really good in attack, defensively solid. And in the next rd, everything you'd want from the night.
Only negative was seeing Oliver Gildart stretched off after an innocuous think. Hopefully it's better than it looked.

For the 6th time in the last 8 seasons. Just showing the stupidity of SL entering so late.

Youngster Leo Tennison has signed a 2 year contract, him & Louis Gorman are the big expectations of the club. So good to tie him till 2026, where he may get a game.

It's been confirmed that Ryan Hall will be leaving at the end of the season.

A player who I was wrong about when he signed (I didn't think we needed him,or he be good). Outstanding work rate, always willing to make the hard yards. And a terrific finisher. Gave his all when playing. And a good watch during his 4 years.
Best of luck to him next year (though not to much as believed to have signed for Leeds)., and a pleasure to have seen him in a Red & White shirt.

2024 LEAVER.

Back- Ryan Hall.

So just left the ground, Rovers were fantastic.  Really good performance, against a St Helens side that tried and looked okay. To beat Wigan and St Helens ina week, shows how far we've progressed. Sun, some really good tries, good performance.  A good day.

My question, where does this go in the best wins of the last few years?

Hard to answer. Thing is at the ground beforehand,  there was an expectancy we would win. Maybe not as big or well as we did, but that we would. Personally Warrington away in play offs (19-0)) if memory serves), Hull FC away 38-6 (again if memory serves), when only 16 fit players, Wigan last week given how good Wigan are, are better.
But then again, the fact there was the expectancy says how far we've come.

And have bought in Castleford Danny Richardson on loan for the rest of season. As cover I guess.

Well that was a semi final.
Wigan were far stronger,  better, faster and more cohesive in attack than Rovers. And had it won by ht.
Rovers other than Micky Lewis were poor. Terrible start, fairly Poopie 2nd half. Just a poor performance.

Louis Senior will be leaving the club and going Castleford (where he is on loan this year), on a 2 year deal.
He was a signing we didn't really need, and though he scored a few, and was fine. After the signings last year (and rumoured signing this year) he was surplus to requirements really.  And best he moved on for his own career.

On my way back from Castleford.

A win's a win, but god Rovers made hard work of it and were poor. Way to much side to side play. No idea what they were doing in attack, and very little respect of the ball. Defensively gave up a lot of easy yards especially after contact.luckily Castleford were just as poor.

Doro a replacement for the expected Matty Storton move to Wakefield?

Doro has been excellent for the Bulls, big, powerful, aggressive hard working prop, good signing. Good luck to him hope he kicks on, certainly deserves his chance in SL.

The most pointless Rovers signing for a while has left.
Ben Reynolds, who signed for Featherstone at the start of the year, then joined Rovers on a 2 year deal, played a game, joined Hull FC on loan, has now resigned for Featherstone. Hole thing is a farce really.

Rovers have signed hooker Bill Leyland from London Broncos.
With Parcell and Butterworth (rivals Reynolds as our why signing), both leaving hooker isn't a surprise.

Another leaver, and another player we never really used or got the best out of.

Corey Hall (currently on loan at Castleford), will be rejoing Wakefield. A potentially good signing, that we never used and was just sort of there are Rovers, hopefully will get his career back on track.

Top of the league.

But a rough month as we face Catalans (magic), St Helens away and Salford home.
Next month Wigan,Leigh away. Leeds Home.

Sort of half and half, finish top 2 week off which gives players a rest. But if we do well keep playing is an advantage.

Matty Storton to Wakefield has been confirmed.  Shame, I like him always gave a good account of himself on the pitch. Solid and did the dirty stuff to let the flashier plays shine. Good luck to him.

3 players who will be released by Rovers at the end of the season.

Reiss Butterworth.
Last year's why signing, good young player we signed in a position of strength for the club who was never going to play. Ge didn't,  so no surprise.

Tom Opacic.
Wasn't a signing I knew much of at the time. But really grew on me in his 2 years. solid center. Really good defence, and some food hands. A solid signing and was a good addition to the team.  Food luck to him in the future.

Matt Parcell.
Initially signed on loan then been at Rovers for 4 years afterwards. Outstanding, excellent player really shone for the club. A big reason we have progressed these 4 years. Shame to see him go. And hope he gets a club as still got a lot to show.

Well that was a performance.
Dominant in the 1st half, 26-0 up at ht time. There was only going to be 1 winner. Excellent defence, and clinical in attack.  Finished 42-6, mostly because Rovers just went through the motions most of the 2nd half.

Only been to St Helens new ground twice, strangely enough it's the 2 times we've won there.

+ that's your goal kicking "issues" resolved.

League Leaders shield could be decided on Friday night at Wigan the way KR are mowing through teams.

Some other news.

Rovers have put in a temporary stand at the south end for this Friday and play off games adding 1000 seats. For this Fri it sold out in 24 hours.
There is also planning application in to extend the east stand adding a 1000 seats and new disability stand.

Reiss Butterworth has signed for Sheffield next year, and Matt Parcell is going back to Australia (still a brilliant signing).

Coldplay who are on a world tour, will be playing 2 gigs at Craven park, joining Little mix who played 2 sold out shows last year.

Another leaver.
It's been confirmed that George King will leave the club at the end of the season (rumoured to be off to Huddersfield). A solid, reliable prop who did the hard graft. Shame as I liked him, but his career has stalled this year with not much game time. So good luck to him.

Glad to have gone last night.
Entertaining game, Leeds were good, Rovers just did enough to win. Good work out for the play offs. Looked abit off no surprise given the injuries, but that's a good sign. All in all a good evening.

Rovers home shirt for next year has been released.

It's mainly white, with red across the shoulders with white thin bands. Then a red diagonal band across the white body. Looks okay in the picture I saw of it.

Good luck tonight. Wigan are will be a diffucult game but not impossible. I've said this before but KR are an example of how to run a club

At Old Trafford, nervous now.

It's a head and heart thing, head says Wigan
Heart says Rovers, depends on start.

Nothing to be sad about after that game (other than the result obviously).
Wigan's defence was outstanding, and they won by a moment of individual brilliance by an outstanding player. Rovers defence was great, attack was poor but credit Wigan for that as well. Shame, but a great experience and an interesting game.

Rovers away shirt is erm interesting.

It's lilac with a purple panel down the side. With Venn diagrams imprints (Matthew Venn is from Hull). Neither kit has made an impression on me.

George King has signed a 4 year deal at Huddersfield as expected. A good signing for them.
