If Trump wins....The Dirtiest election in US history will have to mirror the Cleanest !!

The 1892 White House Election is regarded as the Cleanest and Nicest in American history.....But sadly not for happy reasons...

It also gave birth to several firsts......Grover Cleveland was the first President to win the popular vote three times in a row.........He was also the only President to serve two terms non consecutively after winning his rematch with Republican Benjamin Harrison (Trump would only be the second)......It was also the first and only time the First Lady would die during an Election campaign....

Cleveland during his 1884-88 term became the only President to ever marry while in the White House but his administration was embroiled in a bitter battle over tariffs with the Corporate bosses.....Cleveland argued that the consumers were getting screwed...The Republicans took the side of the Corporates........In 88 Cleveland won the vote........Harrison the college.

It was tariffs that brought down Harrison four years later specifically the "McKinley tariff" which increased the cost of raw materials quite severely, lowered the cost of exports, leading to overproduction and nearly causing an uprising in the farming community...

Anyways back to WH1892......Elizabeth Harrison would always accompany her Husband on his various travels and campaigns and some weeks out from the election she went down with tubercolosis ........President Harrison didn't have the heart to campaign after that and when she passed away two weeks from the vote.....Grover Cleveland out of respect stopped his campaign and decided to just let what will be.....Be....

What was to be......Was Cleveland winning by landslide..........Although he was pretty much embroiled straightaway in the Economic depression of 1893 brought on no doubt by some of Harrison's policies.........

Cleveland would not stand in 96......1892 is generally considered as the Cleanest Election in history.......Cleveland is regarded as one of the better Presidents.....Harrison one of the worst.
