Do players have enough time off?
Pros these days (and even semi pros) only seem to have about 4 weeks off before they start pre season training.
The only reason I ask is because Kristian Phillips tweeted yesterday that he was having his first sprint sessions of the pre season and Rhys Webb tweeted that the ospreys have already started ‘sand dune’ training.
Doesn’t seem like much time off when you consider the stresses and strains that their bodies endure.
Thoughts?

I definitely think a lot of the problems in the NH come down to the fact that they don't have any time away from the game. it goes from season into tour or world cup back into season and then into lions tour or international tour. it's little wonder that our players are always injured

Feeling a bit tired?
Get yourself on 'The Bachelor' and bingo, you get the summer off training!
It might not work for some of the more grizzled forwards though...

Polo, I know that Ireland (and Scotland this year) are big into managing the amount of gametime players will get. Many top names do not feature in the Magners League and it ensures a fairly level playing field in terms of the big name stars and young/backup players getting game time.

Red stag.
I think that’s a wise policy and I would like to see it implemented in Wales. It does make you wonder how the new Pro 12 would be perceived though if all the participating countries starting limiting the appearances of their stars.

No in a word. People were already complaining of burnout in the SH and the result? A load more Super Rugby games. Ridiculous.

10 Weeks is the time limit players need off. Most players get it. Wales players generally start the season just before the November series, despite the season starting in late august.. So yes the vast majority of international players do get the rest period.
