Back to T20 - Middx, Essex and Kent
Stuart Meaker has replaced Jade Dernbach in the only change to the last T20 squad for the first 2 of these games, Middlesex tomorrow at home and Essex on Friday at Chelmsford. I am not sure how effective he will be in the format for us but it is excellent to hear he is fit again, how we could have done with him against Gloucestershire. I would imagine the team will be the same except Meaker for Dernbach, although I would be tempted to play Schofield instead of Wilson as he is a better batsman at the moment! I still think we need an extra batsmen though, surely Harinath would be better than Wilson at 6, I know it's not his ideal format but he might surprise people!
I think we need to win 2 out of these 3 matches to keep up our push for the quarter finals.

Thanks for starting the thread, Carrot.
Clearly good news about Meaker. Not sure about the team Adams will select but agree with all your other comments.
We certainly need to win 2 out of these 3.

Agree with most of what you have said, in an ideal world my T20 team would be:
R Hamilton-Brown (c)
J Roy
S Davies (wk)
Z De Bruyn
T Maynard
A Harinath
Z Ansari
G Batty
Y Arafat
J Dernbach
D Nannes

A Harinath
Z Ansari
G Batty
Y Arafat
J Dernbach
D Nannes

Interesting to see if meaker comes in for dernbach or we give the viscount a chance.still no extra batsman added to the squad which is a shame.

Re: Back to T20 - Middx, Essex and Kent
I'll guess the three to miss out as Batty, the Viscount (unluckily) and Spriegel (who had a poor t20 game last time out against Essex). By that reckoning Wilson just retains his place whilst Meaker and Schofield come in.
My views on Schofield the bowler have already been clearly stated but he's a good biffer and has scored runs quickly this season for both the firsts and seconds.
Anyway, we'll soon find out.
Something we've been guilty of this season in all forms of the game has been bowling too many no balls. In this week's CC game, we gifted Gloucs 20 runs in no balls whilst they didn't bowl a single no ball in either of our innings; particularly significant in such a low scoring game. We must ensure no repetition of that going forward and certainly not tonight!

Re: Back to T20 - Middx, Essex and Kent
Hyphen and Roy have given us an excellent chance, unfortunately now de Bruyn and Davies have failed so Maynard is our only 'hitter' left. We need at least 150 which we are on course for but could easily collapse for 100 odd from here! Over to you Mr. Wilson....

Re: Back to T20 - Middx, Essex and Kent
Why cant we ever finish teams off or make the best of a good start. It drives me insane.
Once again I think we are a batsman short and have been all season in T20.
Ansari, Batty, Nannes, Meaker, Arafat and De Bruyn are more than enough to cover twenty overs We dont need all six of them!!

Re: Back to T20 - Middx, Essex and Kent
Yep, been saying it since the start depressed! Really frustrating that apart from Davies in match 1, no batsman has managed to turn a good start into a big score. 30 off 20 balls is great if everyone does it, if only 2 manage it and the other 3 fail then we're in trouble.

looks like pace off the ball is doing the damage. Could be an interesting return for Meaker then!

Welcome back, Depressed! Apologies for the earlier unacceptable talk.
Probably going to end up with a winnable score but should have been much more after the flyer we got off to.

Wilson's career T20 strike-rate of 96 didn't inspire much confidence...
Hopefully Arafat can "give it a go".

Anyone else just see Tim Southee get a 19 ball 50 against Hants? Impressive hitting albeit on a small ground!
