Craig Thomson told to stay away
Source:http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13901775.stm
Defender Craig Thomson has been told to stay away from Hearts after he was placed on the sex offenders register.
It has been agreed that the 20-year-old should remain absent while the club conduct their own internal enquiry.
Hearts began pre-season training this week and will travel to the Il Ciocco complex in Italy on Saturday.
Last week, Thomson pleaded guilty to two charges of indecent behaviour for lewd and libidinous behaviour towards two girls, aged 12 and 14.
The crimes took place over the internet.
Icelandic International defender Kari Arnason will travel with Hearts to Tuscany for a trial period.
The 28-year-old spent has been with Plymouth for two years but has been released due to the financial problems the League Two club are encountering.
Teenager Denis Prychynenko will also train in Italy, if he recovers from a knee injury, after signing a new three-year contract at Tynecastle earlier this week.
The German-born Ukrainian hit 14 goals for the Under-19s last season.
Good on Hearts is all I have to say, guys like this shouldn't be allowed to play professionally again.

I don't understand the hold up with this, they have a sex offender on their team, what's there to think about.

Hearts should truly be ashamed of themselves.

They had a sex offender manager a couple of seasons ago, that Graham Rix.

This is a whole new level though. The guy has been charged with indecent exposure to a 12 & 14 year old and placed on the sex offenders list.
How any club can justify keeping that on there books is completely beyond me? If Aberdeen were to have done this I would have happily stopped supporting them.

I'm suprised Vlad hasn't sent a hitman to Scotland to be honest, he's usually very vocal but doesn't seem to have much to say about his player at the moment, i realise there is a lot of people on holiday but i believe hearts are heading of for pre season,, and Thomson has been told to not attend as the article suggests, so I WANT ACTION.

He should be sacked immediately. What are they going to find in their internal investigation that might be mitigating? This does not look good for Scottish Football. If Hearts don't sack him the SFA should step in

It's like any other company - the correct disciplinary procedure has to be followed, particularly as the professional football player's union is quite strong.
Obviously he should be fired, he's a disgusting human being - but Hearts can't simply fire him with a click of the finger. It's illegal

I think something like this might just count as gross misconduct which is sackable immediately. I don't even think the union would have too much to say about that. He hasn't even denied it and saying "I realise I have let everyone down..." sorry Craig that doesn't even come close

No offence is "sackable immediately"
It takes a few weeks for the employer to prepare a water tight investigation (as ridiculous as that is in this case), demonstrating that other options were considered, and proof and justification of how the employees actions have irrepairably damaged the company (or club), and hearings have to take place between the player and owner. To cover themselves from being sued later down the line
It took a few weeks for Chelsea to fire Adrian Mutu.

True, they should have suspended him straight away though and started the procedure. My feeling is they didn't because they wanted to keep him, and have only suspended him now because of the fresh allegations. Edinburgh city council have suspended all school trips to Tynecastle.

A slight bit of respect to Hearts but how they even considered keeping the pervert is unbeleivable.
