Re: Furious League
Are Fulham still available? If so then I may be interested... just would like to say I've never done any of these leagues so I don't know if thats okay.
Plus, does this league work similar to the other leagues on here? I only ask as Hodgey explained to me how his league works yesterday, how is this one different?

Re: Furious League
Alright Gregers.
It will work pretty much the same way as Hodgy's. There are subtle differences, but nothing major.
You have your squad and each week, you post your team and tactics. Following Monday, we all vote on what we think the score would have been and Andy calculates the result based on those votes.
If your interested, you are very welcome. If you are unsure anyone in then league should be able to answer the questions.
One difference between ours and Hodgy's (I think) is that we are a realistic league. Therefore, any transfer targets from outside the league have to be realistic (ish). i.e. Messi is never going to join the league. Fulham finished bottom of the league last year, which will make it a challenge, but if you fancy it, then let us know.

Re: Furious League
Smarts: Did you not see my score, 113!! Im ok, did play some pretty decent shots, got 3 pars and almost got to the green on a par 5 in 2 shots but just missed the green by about 5 yards. Putting is poor but almost sank a 20 footer down a hill which went about 2 foot past and skimmed the hole.

Greg I'm sure it's fine for you to try. Who do you support? If it's Man Utd your not allowed in the league!
Transfers work like this:

What do I need to do first? Shall I copy and paste the current squad into a new topic and then look at some transfers after lunch/do I need a new sponsor?

Is anybody going to keep a top scorer list this season?
Andy, nice one for doing results. Can you change the scorer for Everton though, Bent is fine put I don't have a player called Parker?

Sorry for lack of activity, I will bid for players later.
Welcome to the league Gregers
Chelsea enquired for Nasri? Seems like Arsenal may sell to highest bidder.

Re: Furious League
I definately think they will sell to the highest bidder Viva, shame that he wants to leave but if he does then hopefully we can get a good price as I feel Clichy was probably on the cheap side.
Gibbs will be 1st choice LB for Arsenal next season.

Chelsea are only doing it to try stop us, if they wanted him they would of made it clear from the start, same as Man City.
Gibbs will be 1st choice on the treatment table
Smarts, are you not one bit worries about Arsenil at the moment?

Can I just enquire as to whether my transfer enquiries were written up properly?

Re: Furious League
Worried? Not really Nick. Some fans might panic but Arsenal were very close to winning something last season and I don't think there needs to be that many changes.
It's a shame players want to leave as I think Arsenal were on the verge of something special and this might set us back a season. But would I be worried of playing Gibbs over Clichy, not really.
I don't mind if Fabregas & Nasri leave if we get a good price. One player I really want us to sign is N'Zogbia as a replacement for Arshavin and ship him back to Russia or keep him for impact sub. But I doubt that will happen.

Re: Furious League
A great result! Thanks for not submitting Nick, made my hardest game of the year much easier!!!
Andy - can I have two goalscorers for my game. My strikers are on a goals bonus.
And please can someone draw 2 injuries each for Sunderland and Everton as me and Smarts can't really. If not, we might have to go with no injuries for our teams.

Re: Furious League
Arsene Wenger built his team in a totally different way to the other big clubs and unfortunately a few players want to leave before the project is complete. Do I think Arsene Wenger is better than any other manager in the EPL? Yes, but as there is no level playing field it can be argued either way. How would Jose Mourinho/SAF do with a much smaller budget etc we don't know?
But you asked if I am worried about Arsenal? No, do I have any reason to be?
There are weaknesses in all the other top 4 teams, Man Utd lack a central midfield and have lost key players in VDS, Scholes.
A lot of the Chelsea spine is knocking on.
Man City are looking good but their manager is to conservative.
No worries from me

Re: Furious League
Arsenal IMO will do well to finish in the top 4 if they lose Cesc and Nasri. Infact make that just Nasri who IMO was your best player by a mile last season
Re: Furious League
Gregers - you also have two lawyers offers.
Lawyers offers are offers for your players from clubs outside the league. You can choose to accept or reject them, but there is no negotiation. They are normally posted on a Monday and you have until the end of Wednesday to accept or reject.
Yours haven't been answered yet, so you can still choose to sell if you wish.

Re: Furious League
Also - the other thing to consider when buying and selling is that we have a cup competition.
In the cup, you select a starting XI that must have 3 British players and 3 U21 players (born on or after 1st July 1990) - these can be the same three players. Worth bearing in mind before you sell any British or U21 players.
The cup is over 4 rounds, with the prelim next week, although you have a bye to the quarter finals

Re: Furious League
Question - How do transfers from English sides work? i.e. if I wished to buy a player from a prem side not in the league or a championship side
Re: Furious League
They will be treated as a Transfer Pending.
Essentially you have 2 types of transfer.
Domestic - with teams in the league, and can happen anytime
Pendings (also called foreigns) - with any team outside of the league. Monday to Wednesday, 3 a day.

PineappleHead is more regularly referred to as MelonHead, and even Meloncock once.
You might hear Nick or Viva called Lotionboys. Don't ask, it's just they're little private agreement.

Afro, dont thank me, thank my boss. So annoyed, if that was anyone else you the rules would of got bent and tactics would of been allowed. I am being victimized like Andy did after he won the 1st season and how Viva usually does.
Smarts, you really do make me laugh.
"Arsene Wenger built his team in a totally different way to the other big clubs and unfortunately a few players want to leave before the project is complete." - What is his project.......Youth Policy, No Spending on Proven Players, Not having an Influential Figure to help youth.
Dont you think Wengers gone a bit off the mark now? Its good to bring up youth, Man United do.
I find it quite pathetic how YOU always use the "money" excuse but how SOME Arsenil dans bleat on how Arsenil make the most money in the league, are the richest club and all that BALLS.
Manchester United have worked very hard at marketing the club over the last 15-20 years which have made them the valuable SPORTING club in the world.
End of the day SAF is hands down better then Wenger, no argument.
Did SAF have tonnes of money at Aberdeen??
Take first 13 years SAF had at Manchester United and its better then Wengers 13 years to date. Go check on it, Honours and the way the Club has developed.

Re: Furious League
You now my regimes are strict ones.
There will be no allowing late tactics submissions again.
The tactics window closes at the end of Friday. The bolt is slammed down, the padlock locked, the shutters drawn and Viva stationed on the outside as guard.
Nothing will get in.
And please could someone just pick two injuries each for Everton and Sunderland

BBC Gossip
Arsenal will tell Samir Nasri he is going nowhere. Even a bid of £25m for the midfielder - who is a target for Manchester United, Manchester City and Inter Milan - is unlikely to be enough to change their mind.
Full story: Daily Mirror
This is why I dislike Arsenil and why the hate for them is growning. They want £25m for a player with 1 year on a contract.
I hope Nasris goes nowhere and then talks to top clubs in Jan and leave for free. Arsenil dont deserve him

Re: Furious League
Smarts, Nick just killed you. Why are you still making excuses for Wenger? What project? Didn't Ronaldo leave while Ferguson was making his plan, didn't Rooney want to leave as well? Didn't Tevez leave? Ferguson knew how to handle it and had a plan B when plan A didn't work, selling Ronaldo and buying Valencia and Hernandez. He can move with the times.
Does it really take 7 years? An how were you close to winning something? Yes Carling Cup but your team needs to get over it's annual collapse and actually fight till the bitter end. I like Arsenal, nice team technically best team in England and would kill every team if they all played attacking Football. But I don't like moaners and excuse makers, Smarts probably say " We didn't win the title because I broke my toe" shut up boy.
Afro I see you've tried to murk me when I'm not around to impress your girlfriend Cheggers, Andy won't like being cheated on!!!!

Re: Furious League
Are you guys deluded or what Fergies time in charge of Man Utd has consisted of him having more money than any other manager in the early years. How many british transfer records did Utd have? Roy Keane, Andy Cole, Rio Ferdinand etc
His first 13 years he chucked money at the team like no tomorrow, how many signings did he make.
I'm not saying this is a bad thing, I'm saying you can't compare a manager who has unlimited resources to one who is restricted.
Money is generally linked to success in football, would Chelsea/Man City be where they are now without the cash? Before their sugar daddys that would be laughable.
Nicks life is taken over by Arsenal FC he is obsessed by them more than me lol he lets it wind him up so bad haha.

Re: Furious League
My valuations are:
Young = £15m
Clichy = £7m
Carrol - £15m
+ £10m
TOTAL = £47m
Lennon = £12m
Coentrao = £16m
Benzema = £22m
Total = £50m
You would be left with 1 better player and 2 worse players, but £10m to spend.
I wouldn't do it myself

I think Clichy is better than Coentrao to be honest and he is worth more than £7M in todays market.
