Best promo ever....?

Ok guys, after Punk's promo on Monday, I'd like to do a poll of really, really excellent promo's. But I'd like a few suggestions from you guys.

My criteria really is fairly simple - the promo should give you that 'tingle sown the apine' feeling you get when you watch a performer at the top of their game. I'm thinking Austin 3:16, maybe. Or something so surprising that it makes a huge buzz - like when the Rock returned and said he was 'back' before WM.

In my opinion, Punk ticked both boxes, but I can't have a poll of one. So over to you guys!

I'll leave this up for a couple of days, then create a poll with the best tube links I can find.

i always liked legion of doom with hawk's ramblings or the ultimate warrior with his mix of shouting and nonsense or the simple dog faced gremlin rick stiener barking.

I don't think it was as good as John Cena's first rap against The Rock

I find it hard to believe anyone got a tingle down there spine when they 1st heard the Austin 3:16 speech... I think most people thought 'woo that was a bit close to the bone' I think that moment gain significance after the event....

2 that come to mind are Scott Hall's WCW Invasion promo, and Shawn Michaels' promo after the Montreal Screwjob. Austin 3:16 is probably the most famous promo of all time though.

I honestly believe in 10yrs time, Punk's promo from Monday night will be spoken about as one of the best ever.

Couple of suggestions from original ECW:
Mick Foley's "Cane Dewey" promo - probably the greatest promo I have ever seen.

Steve Austin's anti WCW promo from his short time in ECW is worth checking out - I'd argue thats the true birth of Stone Cold, not the 3:16 stuff!

Paul Heyman's at One Night Stand 05 was also brilliant, Shawn Micheals on the RAW after SummerSlam 97 was top notch, The Rock joining the Nation and adressing the "Die Rocky Die" chants in late 97 and Bret turning on America also in 97, Austins 3:16 promo in 96 and Steve Austins worked shoot on WCW in ECW in 95 and Cactus Jack's "Cain Dewey" promo in ECW in 95 was awesome

Ric Flair in WCW. It's got gone up there.

Some good suggestions as ever.... Shawn & Bret's heel promo in 97 were awesome.

I loved the 'you fan can stick in bruva' Hogan Nitro night after Bash at the Beach 96

I love HBK's promo in Canada during the build up to his match with Hulk Hogan.

Also not really a promo but the original This is your life segment with the rock and mankind is also a great moment on raw for me.

Survivor Series 1989 with Roddy Piper, the Bushwackers, and Super Fly Jimmy Snuka, it was mental!
Roddy was trying to get them to behave themselves and caught Butch trying to sneak sardines into the match and took them off him, Luke, helped butch and Jimmy was looking totally zoned out. After a brief struggle Roddy got the Sardines, then he and the Bushwhackers started singing "Them bones, them, bones, were bad, were bold, we wont do what were told!" Roddy charges to the ring, Butch and Luke started doing their march and super Fly eventually realise's he's alone started following giving a few grunts.
My description probably doesn't do it justice but it was very funny!

Never get tired of watching the Rock in Toronto, makes me laugh every single time. Heel Rock at his comedic best

The Rock in Toronto, Michaels in Montreal and Punk the other week are my personal favourites. Austin 3:16 is also up there imo.

Dusty was always a great promo, some of his best where under a mask as The Midnight Rider

Does anyone know what Heyman was thinking with the Zombie? And was he actually a pro-wrestler? Or just local talent to be destroyed?

It was a last minute switch.

The Sci Fi channel that was broadcasting insited on some Sci Fi content. So Heyman cam up with the Martian gimmick but it was switched at the last minute to the Zombie as a fingers up to the network (I think that was the reason anyway!)

This one the best I have even seen. Michael Cole even struggles to maintain composure.

That's why the Rock was brilliant - but that was many years ago now and I doubt we will ever see that Rocky back again.
