Towser, Cotto battered Malignaggi much worse. No stoppage, but more damage done. Khan's quicker with in-and-out movement but for handspeed I'm not sure there's much in it.

Re: P4P British and World
Yeah, do you remember Cotto getting blown away by Prescott with absolutely no brains whatsoever and walking head first onto big shots against Maidana, even a controversial character like yourself can't seriously be suggesting to me Khan has a boxing brain? if he has he's never showed me. Khan can't stay out of the way of punchers for 12 rounds sticking to an in and out gameplan, i'm not convinced he can, he nearly got sparked off Maidana, Morales was much more comfortable.TRUSSMAN66 wrote:Miles better and more intelligent......

Balti you've hit the nail on the head, who's victory over Abraham means the most? Dirrell and do you know why because he was the one who set the blueprint up on how to beat him which both Ward and Froch later followed. Same with Malignaggi Khan knew how to beat him based on what had happened in the past, is the same true of Froch beating Pascal or Pascal beating Dawson and Diaconu?

Cotto beat him 115-112...you make it sound one sided...Khan won all the rounds unlike the overrated quitter Cotto.

Cotto is many things but a quitter isn't one of them and he beat a better version of Malignaggi who with diminishing speed was always going to be outboxed with ease by Khan, it's a style thing.

I'm still not 100% decided on Dirrell's 'win' over Abraham. He was way ahead on the cards, but he'd allowed Abraham back in, and wasn't looking too good after the KD which wasn't called. A great, impressive performance, but one which lacked the finesse that comes with experience.

He'll be bored, so will wum, he brings Cotto up even if you were talking about buying a new TV set, talks Cotto making lies up, Windy has to come on and warn us when he doesn't want to then the kid is over the moon - because he's on the wumImperial Ghosty wrote:Cotto is many things but a quitter isn't one of them and he beat a better version of Malignaggi who with diminishing speed was always going to be outboxed with ease by Khan, it's a style thing.

115-112 close fight...if your basing it on damage done then you accept Haye Klitschko was even, Clottey beat Cotto.
Broke Malignaggi jaw apparently yet Cotto could barely beat him.

Balti, Chavez may have beaten Taylor but Meldrick did a bloody good job setting the blueprint for his eventual downfall

I'm not talking about scorecards, I'm talking about physical damage. Khan stopped him but didn't damage him as badly. Like Marg vs Pacquiao and Marg vs Mosley. Mosley stopped him but Pacquiao damaged him much worse.

He quit against Margarito! He is a quitter like Chagaev etc. When the going gets tough Cotto goes running and quitting.

No he didn't quit, i'll admit Duran quit against Leonard but Cotto did not quit, a quitter wouldn't have got in the position he was in, a brutal brutal beating that left him a bloody mess

Come on, fellas. take a night off from the spats, eh ?
I'm trying to have an interesting discussion on another thread and find myself having to play Secretary of State again. Even Hillary gets a night off from the Middle East problem. Can't you guys let me have one ?
Just play nicely. Debate as passionately as you like - that's what we're here for - but let's all stop pushing buttons, shall we ?
Thanks.

Not at all, Truss.
You know full well that I love your boxing input and always have. Heaven knows we've bumped heads a few times, but we've always ( with just one or two exceptions, ) been respectful to each other.
That's all I'm asking everybody to do now. Knock lumps out of each other's arguments, but leave the personal stuff, whether direct or implied, off the table.
Thanks.

I always try to be even handed and fair, Steven, and if I were seen to be anything other then the other mods or admins would jump in.
If I had my way, everybody would get along even if they passionately disagreed about just about every boxing subject. In the real world that can't happen but we can, at the very least, establish and respect borders.
