Re: 606v2 Rates WWE Champions - Worst 5
Sorry missed off reasons
Vince - He's the owner of the company? Stupid ego trip. Could you imagine Malcolm Glazer giving himself the 10 shirt at Old Trafford?
Sgt Slaughter - Wrestlemania 7 I loved as a kid & at the time Slaughter was a heat magnet but he wasn't good enough to hold the title in that era
Sheamus - Given the title for spotting Triple H
Rob Van Damn - Talented enough but blew his big chance. Mic skills were limited
Big Show - Potential to be one of the biggest wrestling stars on the 90's when he burst on the scene, unfortunately discovered fast foods & got lazy

Re: 606v2 Rates WWE Champions - Worst 5
Like Brady I can't comment on those before Hogan, so....
1-Andre the Giant. He was only given the title because of his size. Had zero ability and was ultimatley cannon fodder for Hogan.
2-Vince McMahon. Same reason as Brady.
3-The Miz. Controversial choice perhaps but for me he is very overated, didn't draw, isn't that good in ring. He's mid card champion at best.
4- JBL. Right place at the right time. JBL played the heel well, but WWE Champion? I think not. Poor in ring and poor physique.
5- Eddie Guererro. Maybe not a popular choice but I just didn't find him believable as a World Champion. I think the 'lie cheat and steal' gimmick to retain his title was cheap and made him look weak. It would have worked better as a heel. I liked Eddie but he didn't cut it for me as a believable World Champ. RIP.

Re: 606v2 Rates WWE Champions - Worst 5
1 - Andre. Held the WWF title for all of 2 minutes. So technically the least accomplished world champion in history.
2 - McMahon - Same reasons as above. No need for it at all.
3 - Batista - Was a good WHC champion, but his WWE title runs were a joke. Relinquished his first run due to injury right after winning it, and his second was just a way to get Cena to win the title at Mania.
4- The Miz, the guy just isnt a big enough draw to merit the run he had.
5- Kane. Good WHC run last year, but no one can argue that his WWF run was unecessary and a joke.

Re: 606v2 Rates WWE Champions - Worst 5
1. McMahon - only one up from Arquette winning the title in WCW
2. Kane - any reign that short is a bit of a joke (which is a shame for him as he deserved better)
3. RVD - druggie loser who chucked away one of the biggest potential pushes ever by beating Cena at ONS
4. Andre the Giant - before my time but I can see that any title reign that short is a joke
5. Guerrero - As much as his memory has inflated his reputation and he got good reactions I never saw him as more than a mid carder who was a champion during some of WWE's lean years.

1. McMahon - Un-warranted and un-necessary.
2. RVD - Great opportunity and blew it.
3. Jeff Hardy - Being called an enigma is more less saying 'hey kid your turd on the mic'
4. Yokozuna - No-one that big should be in tights!
5. Batista - Was burnt out more in matches than Jeff

Re: 606v2 Rates WWE Champions - Worst 5
Wasn't Andre the biggest draw in North America before Hogan? I think it's harsh to put him in the list, granted his run with the title last seconds but that was booked to get Di Biase over & get the title off Hogan.
Yoko looked believable as Champ that's why I'd never have him on the list
JBL I agree Mr H in the begining he didn't deserve the title when they put it on him I thought WTF but he did a good job in the end

Re: 606v2 Rates WWE Champions - Worst 5
A small point I'd make to those saying Rob Van Dam, and blaming his drug arrest for 'blowing one of the biggest potential pushes ever!'.
He didn't - the plan all along was that Edge would win the title back off him in a matter of weeks, as RVD was heading to the resurrected ECW brand full-time. All his arrest did was speed up his losing the title by a fortnight or so.
Anyway, the long-awaited DTS opinion:
1- Jeff Hardy.
Such a good champ, he dropped it in his first defence to Edge, and only held it for 6 weeks due to the 6 week break between Armageddon and the Rumble.
2- Sid.
Just, just awful. Looked intimidating, but had the actual in-ring talent of my grandmother. And she's dead.
3- Big Show
he's fat. He's tall, he has the stamina of (in the imoortal words of Edmund Blackadder) an asthmatic ant carrying some heavy shopping. And thus the appeal of Big Show is summed up. Only won the title back in the day as part of the deal to bring him over from WCW, talent-wise and work-ethic-wise, didn't deserve it at all.
4- The Miz.
Average in-ring, over-rated on the mic, is slightly annoying. Should never have been champ, and certainly not heading into WM27.
5- Diesel.
Just... no.

Re: 606v2 Rates WWE Champions - Worst 5
It wasn't a joke at all, you might look at it as a joke but as you said, it's before your time, Hogan had been champ for 4 years and Andre was the only guy believable that could beat him, however he wasn't healthy enough to carry the belt so they worked a fantastic angle with Di Biase and the evil twin, to list Andre is poor by anyones standards and for me shows a lack of understanding to the bigger picture.JoshSansom wrote:

Maybe gaffer, but I still think that extremely short title reigns aren't a good thing - as we have seen recently it can devalue the title somewhat. Also, isn't it the fault of booking that Andre was the only person deemed capable of being able to defeat Hogan? Surely they could have built someone up to then have a credible run afterwards?
Also, while the idea of kayfabe selling a title to diBiase may have been novel having someone be prepared to sell the belt cheapens it to the level of the fingerpoke of doom.

Re: 606v2 Rates WWE Champions - Worst 5
Thats why DiBiase wasn't recognised and Andre was stripped of the title, they made a point of highlighting how massive the World Title was, it definitely wasn't the fault of the booking, the WWF was making more money than they could count and breaking attendance records monthly, all that was down to the American Hero over-coming the odds, Vince didn't want to change a winning formula, he didn't need to, Andre may have been the shortest reign but he didn't lose the title.

Re: 606v2 Rates WWE Champions - Worst 5
1) Vince McMahon, as said by countless people previously, there was no need for the win, especially as all they did was put the belt back on Hunter a few weeks later, all it did was give him yet another Title reign
2) Psycho Sid, could have been awesome, all of the build up to his first title win against Michaels was great and some of the match such as taking out Michaels manager was cool, but at no point did he really seem like a flag bearer for the company.
3) Rob Van Dam, I agree he was poor as a WWE Champion at that point, but not because he cocked up mainly. They should have given him just the ECW World Title at ONS, had the whole celebration, then waited for a few months before putting him back onto SD/Raw and given him a credible run then.
4) Chris Jericho, now hear me out. Having Jericho as a champion was a no-brainer, he had been crying out for the title for years and few guys deserved the title more, however I personally got bored of Jericho's WWE Title run quickly. You soon get bored of a guy never actually getting a clean win in a match. They should have at least given him a clean win over either The Rock/SCSA just to give him the push he needed to become a great first Undisputed Champ
5) Kane, another one of my favoruite guys, but such a poor idea by the creative team
