Vrabel Retires Empty Vrabel Retires

Post by Pr4wn Mon 11 Jul 2011, 2:58 pm

Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Mike Vrabel has announced his retirement from pro-football. He has already accepted a job as the LB coach for Ohio State.

A fantastic player, very underrated in my opinion.

Vrabel Retires Empty Re: Vrabel Retires

This was plastered yesterday.
No question his best years were away from Arrowhead but you can't fault his attitude and application, he was close to awesome for the Pats a few years ago.
That said, he could still do a job and I can't help thinking he's retired a bit young, he kept himself fit and rarely suffered injury, he played every game for us last year and looked fairly fresh, he was effective.
Obvioulsy there's a history with Ohio State and maybe he felt the offer wouldn't be there in a year or two so while they're rebuilding he wanted to be a part of it.
Great professional.

I agree that he went while there was a job on the table that he wanted to do. Who knows what can happen in 1-2 years with head coaching changes, a career ending injury etc. Good luck to him.

I suspect this has something to do with former NFL players complaining about no voice in the talks.

Went out on a high after a good career.

I think this has been on the cards for a while now. Good luck to the guy, top player, and one of my favorite Patriots of the last 10 years or so.
