To be fair think it would be best to have 1 end of October start of November and then a 2nd one before the 6 nations start.

Its less then we have had any season so far I think?
Need to keep some foreigns in the league as in season dealing is notoriously hard with all of us looking for the better deal

I Think personally you should be able to trade 1 foreign signing in receive no money for him and then get the opportunity to pay in for another at some point. it is a good way of removing players that are in the game that dont really play and to keep squads current.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 homepage
That's an interesting point - keeps numbers down and puts more players in foreigns

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 homepage
Thats fair enough just checked and we had our foreigns the start of Dec and March according to the game rules on 606 last year. Although think I remember we brought the 2nd window forward to strenghten squads for the 6 nations.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 homepage
I think we're getting too many, we need to think of the future of the game. Another later in the year then one in March time will be pretty fair I think.
We def don't need another now, if we released one from our squads I'd just release a rubbish foreigner and get a good quality player in, wouldn't really help with the dwindling foreign market.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 homepage
Pooly the foreign releasednwould have to be someone purchased through the foreigns so i could not release for example tuitopu. Thought it might add an edge
I cant think of one i would release but for example some may have released guildford last year thinking he was gone and now would be regretting it. Kind of a gamble.
you may get rid of Barcella as he is always injured and then get in someone else and Barcella go on to fulfill his massive potential
I think it could be interesting

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 homepage
I think it should really be up to each manager to keep his own squad current. If you have players your not using you should be looking to move them on in-game or just release them rather then getting an extra foreign.
Think 1 Nov/Dec and 1 Feb/Mar is more then fair enough

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 homepage
i agree with steve, our squads are massive dont need another foreign untill 6N. soon all decent players will be gone and foreigns will become pointless and we'll end up buying players that wont get near the first XV.

Tuitiou is garbage though Matt so you'd basically be on win/win. Barcella is training again and in French squad so I obviously wouldn't release him. Pump idea imo.

Tuitupou isn't garbage. Very decent centre option.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 homepage
Pooly read before commenting. As i said I could not release tuitopu as he was not a foreign signing in the game.
My point was Barcella is massively injury prone but a great player. you may decide to release him and purchase someone else knowing he loses value when out injured.
Someone else may decide to then purchase him as a foreign and then he comes good and your gamble has not paid off.
Have you not been fed today pooly. a bit touchy

I wouldn't for the sake of 2m
I thought we could still release retirements? I've just done Lewsey for 1.5m and seem to remember players in the past too.

Didn't notice Nalaga is in the Fiji team this weekend vs the AB's.
"It's no secret that we're big fans of Napolioni Nalaga. Once the most devastating attacking force in France, the drama that prevented his return to Clermont was worthy of day-time television. Estranged lovers, a mysterious accident, a pre-arranged marriage gone wrong, a overbeing mother and a village chief holding him captive...it was a true soap opera, Fijian style. Now he's back. Twice the Top 14's top try-scorer, Nalaga is all power and speed. If he gets a sniff of the line with some space to work in, he's near-impossible to stop."

Quick question about the World Cup and when players will be available in this game.
Are all players in WC squads unavailable until the conclusion of the tournament, or do players come back to their clubs as their teams get knocked out?

Id say as they come back mate. But all players should be getting 2 to 3 weeks rest. I will be marking any side down that goes with world cup players without giving them a decent rest

Fellas, I really need a hooker who is available during the WC, a replacement blindside flanker, a number eight who can just be a squad player and a fly half.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 homepage
Going back to SJE's point. Players who play a lot of world cup rugby need a rest. But players who may go and only get one or two games can be thrown straight in from my point of view. From my point of view Players like Francois Louw, Alasdair Strokosch, Richie Vernon and Rhys Preistland example may not even get a start at the World Cup so I wouldn't see a problem in him jumping straight back in.
I would however consider it to be the job of the team playing the WC player to make it clear how much game time a man has had and shouldn't leave it up to managers to research how much every player has played at the world cup
