Jonathan Davies next blues coach/technical advisor?
Tom shanklin has just tweeted about a potential role for jiffy at the blues
"Just sat next to Bob Norster and Jiffy at Jaguar Golf dinner. Sounds like Jiffy could be Cardiff blues coach after world cup #jiffyblues"
"Jiffy technical adviser. Heard it here first. #jiffyblues"
Has he had any coaching experience?

I thought Howley is set up for the job, the two guys in post are holding the fort until after the RWC What a worrying thought but good news for Wales!

it would be interesting to see how jiffy did do if this is true after all his analysis on scrum 5 and such to see whether he could use his knowledge to benefit a team

I think they should use Gwyn Jones to analyse the opposition to come up with a strategy to win games.
To implement Jiffy's game plan you must have players with brains (not the beer) and ths would rule out Tom James.

Ha! As I understand, Shanks is a top joker/wind up merchant. So i'm guessing that;
He was sat next to Jiffy at the Jaguar Golf Dinner.
He and Jiffy got to talking about twitter and Shanks has probably bet Jiffy that he could start a rumour about Jiffy.
How long until this end up in the Western Fail?!

It would be nice to see him involved in the game but has he done any of his coaching badges etc.
As said he has enough opinions on the game so would be nice to see him in there somewhere.

If true this move would make a lot of sense for the Blues - let's face it Young got a job there with no experience and was allowed to learn his trade at the expense of any success, why not Jiffy?
Coaching is a skill - you'd think a Region with any ambition would look for someone with some qualification and experience.

I think as said it's a Shanks wind up - plus not only has Jiffy got no coaching experience he'll probably earn a lot more being a pundit than a coach with a lot less pressure and more security.

Can’t see Jiffy being interested.
On TV, pundits can criticise and come up with all manner of ideas and plans without having to really worry about it.
If he goes in to coaching then he has to ‘live or die’ by those ideas and plans, plus open himself up to criticism .

Id love to see him be a coach, but I doubt you'd ever get him out of the warm tv studio and into a tracksuit on a cold winters day for training!

I agree with the recently-expressed view of Mark Ring that the next Blues coach should be an ex-back instead of an ex-front five player. An ideal person would Mike Rayer, the Bedford coach, who was an excellent player for Cardiff - full-back and other positions - for many years.

Re: Jonathan Davies next blues coach/technical advisor?
Problem is, optimist, Mikey Rayer has just signed a two year contract with Bedford Blues.
Can't see jiffy getting off the BBC Gravy-Train, unless these cuts are hitting BBC Sport!
Still convinced it is a Shanks wind up!

Re: Jonathan Davies next blues coach/technical advisor?
Rayre would have been an ideal person IMO but as Blue said he has signed a new contract.
I still think they ought to look at Kingsley Jones after the WC though as a Gwent boy it would hurt to see him go there.

Re: Jonathan Davies next blues coach/technical advisor?
The problem in some cases is a commentator can talk a lot of sense but when he gets a chance to be head coach he actually does worse.
I remember John Toshack talking a lot of sense when Mark Hughes was the coach of the Wales national football team, but when he got his chance he was worse than Hughes.

Go for it Jiff. We've heard enough of your views from the comfort of a studio. Let's see if you can transfer them views to the training paddock. Somehow I don't think we'll be seeing the great one making the move. Why spoil an easy life.
