Darran O'Sullivan just scored a quite brilliant goal. a cheeky backheel off an awful handpass from Sheehan.
1-5 to 0-2
both teams playing poorly but Kerry scoring a bit more.
kerry at 50%
Limerick at about 27%

Darran or Declan must be in line for POTY.
last year a team that bowed out in the semi's had a player winning poty. No reason it can't happen again.

What a poor crowd. Surely the g.a.a have to start playing theese game's in ground's that are closer for the supporter's of the team's, it make's no sense at all to have them game's in an empty Croke park. Well done to Donegal yesterday but I think Kildare were robbed blind.

Brolly is a fool. A grand total of one all Ireland and he goes on as if he's some sort of g.a.a oracle. Accusing Limerick of not trying hard enough???

Re: live scores- 30-31/7/11 Croke-adile tears
Counihan has to go. Granted Noelie was on a card but why the Flip would you bring on Canty? The guy has been passed it for years and was caught out for a few points. We played clueless football and we still went long when short kickouts were working. Counihan is a clown and I hope for Cork football that he goes.
Mayo were brilliant they gave us no space and were disciplined through out. They flooded the defence and cut out ball to our forwards in the 2nd half. Don't see them beating Kerry but would love it to happen. Brolly is going to be some langer tonight. He is kind of right though. We have no one who can score from around 45 yards out in the midfield or the backs.

He has a point, when you flood the defence and have no way of getting the ball into the forwards then you have to have a half back line or midfield capable of chipping in with a few points. Miskella is the only one who got a point out of them today. Aidan Walsh can shoot for his life neither can O'Connor.

Credit to Mayo they played very well. Cork were poor but I would say it was a case of Mayo not letting them play, great tactic's from Mayo.

In all honesty I thought Cork would win and go on to retain their title despite the absentees up front. Missed the game, not quite the 250 margin victory but if Cork only scored one point in the second-half via Miskella they must've been pretty awful by the sound of it. Mabye that hyping of Mayo had some sort of effect.

Mayo now need to play exactly the same way again, can they??
Cork seemed to lack leaders in the forwards.......no direction. Still, i think there is another year in Counihan. To have Goulding, O'Neill and Sheehan back would transform them again......................

Re: live scores- 30-31/7/11 Croke-adile tears
JC, my honest opinion is that they did a number on Paddy Kelly, our only creative outlet in the Patrick Kelly. Having the three lads back and Barry O'Driscoll from the bench might have changed that and spread Mayo out a bit.
Kerry have much more creativity in that line than we do. Darran O'Sullivan being injured might have some bearing on their ability to break the line but it will be more difficult for them with the roaming Kerry style than just sticking a man on Kelly.
As I said at half time, the management from the line for mayo was excellent, so it wasn't as though I didn't see it coming. If CC stays, I think the back room needs a shake up. I still don't think Brolly's comments stand. take that talent out of any side and it makes life tough. I thought we'd have enough. Arrogance, Maybe. form, maybe that too but we were realistically only in that game for 15 minutes.

I was glad I was on holidays for the last week and didn't have time for a sulk.
Which is the real Cork team, was today just a bad day at the office.
I didn't see Donegal game yesterday but on an assumption that they didn't play free flowing football it is likely they will continue to try to squeeze either the Jacks or Tyrone. Given the last encounter I wouldn't be waiting with bated breath on another Tyrone/Donegal game.

Re: live scores- 30-31/7/11 Croke-adile tears
somewhere inbetween. It depends who we are playing. against a well executed mass defence, we have always found it tough.
we generally find a way some way some how. Just not today.
That is a combination of not having a plan against it and not having the players available who may have been able to combat it.
when mayo played a conventional system they were getting roasted. they made the change quickly. we lack that kind of changeup

This time last year a lot of people were complaining about how it was a disadvantage to win the provincial championship. (as was Mickey Harte).
Tables turned so far this year.........although if Tyrone manage to overturn Dublin, i can hear the "rustiness" excuses already. If the Dubs pull through, the fact that Tyrone will have played 5 weeks in a row and the "fatigue factor" will be mentioned!!......................

Tyrone, might be the only team who can beat Kerry. They're aren't as good as them but Kerry always have a big psychological barrier facing them when they play Tyrone.

Re: live scores- 30-31/7/11 Croke-adile tears
The only constant this year appears to be inconsistency in terms of performances. All of the remining five team have been inconsistent to some degree over the last number of games.
Kerry had a bad 2nd half against Cork and didnt get out of second gear yesterday (because they didnt have to)
Tyrone are picking up form since the Longford game but it i hard to judge where they are
The Jacks had a lucky win over Kildare and were not impressive against Wexford
Mayo, London, provincial final and then Cork. Is the same level of Mayo performance likely two games in a row
Much as I dont like the style they play the most consistent team at this point is Donegal. They are not over reliant on any individual and the work ethic on its own is likely to keep them in contention with any of the other remaining four.

Evening All.
Am back from Dublin. Despite missing my boys in blew, I did enjoy the city and watching the GAA on big tellys in the pubs
This year is certainly looking interesting now isn't it? I was very surprised Cork were beaten (no offence Mayo fans). I think the semi's are going to be difficult to call whoever gets through!
