E-On was actually a merger between two other electic companies in the early 2000s. Neither kept their name and E-On was a brand new name.
I think Powergen were bought by E-On Viva

Smarts - Arsenal may need to move fast if they want Biglia. It seems Milan are showing an interest

Re: Furious League - Homepage 5
I think Milan have been tracking him for months now, saw that rumour on goal.com ages ago. I don't want Arsenal to sign Biglia though lol going to be very difficult to sign a Fabregas & Nasri replacement at such last minute. If Raul Meireles has fallen out of favour at Liverpool I would not mind him at all or Juan Mata if that deal is still an option + Samba/Jags + Dann. Vermaelen looking likely to move to LB if we bring in a couple of CBs

Re: Furious League - Homepage 5
Meireles may be interested in a move to Arsenal, so could be a goer.
I think Mata is definately the prefered choice of Wenger, but his price has now shot up and we know what Wenger is like.
Biglia would be half the price and is a much more all round midfielder. Mata is great going forward, but doesn't offer much defensively. Biglia is not anywhere near as good as Mata going forward, but he does the lot, box to box. I actually think Biglia would be a better signing and more what Arsenal need. More the Vieira style player.

Re: Furious League - Homepage 5
honestly, i think aquaman would be a good signing for arsenal, a relatively cheap fee (although that could be higher as we would basically be strengthening the opposition) and despite all the flak he seemingly gets, is suited to the prem
although i think given the choice, (especially in the case of meireles) i think the management would be happy to take a lower fee and sell both players to a team in italy than strengthen the team who we will probably be competing for 4th place for

Looks like
-------------------Wilshire-----------------------
----------Ramsey-------Song/Diaby-----------
Will be the 1st choice midfield atm. Good enough to beat most teams in the EPL but if any injuries kick in your looking at Rosicky as really the only replacement unless Arshavin can drop to AM.

Re: Furious League - Homepage 5
Morning.
We still need a top class midfielder to bring in, I would much rather bring in Schweinsteiger (Very unlikely we could get him) then Sneijder, he has a better all round game and a fantastic attitude. If money is more important to Sneijder then playing for Man Utd he should join Man City. An don't think I'm bitter, I think he is a fantastic player and any club he joins will benefit from him. Good luck Charlie!!

Re: Furious League - Homepage 5
Its paper talk but I got a feeling its going to be true. There are some facts in the article like Berba being the last player Man united signed for x amount over 27 and with Tom Cleverly coming through, Anderson point to prove, Ravel maybe featuring a bit more, Pogba, SAF doesnt need to spend 200k+ a week on Sneijders wages.
Such a shame as I would love to see Sneijder at Man United. I even learnt how to spell his name properly!! What a waste of time!

Re: Furious League - Homepage 5
Viva, Schweinsteiger is defo not happening. There isnt really another target out there. Pastore went to PSG. Modric.......forget that. Nasri is City bound. Only Hamsik, Götze or the one I would like. Shinji Kagawa.
Dont get me wrong id like Götze but Sneijder would be my first choice and then Shinji Kagawa.

Re: Furious League - Homepage 5
I disagree with what we need though. If we get Sneijder we'd either have to play him on the wing or go 4-5-1. Agree with Viva, someone like Schweinsteiger would be good, I'd like a Yaya Toure or an Essien type player.

Re: Furious League - Homepage 5
Viva, too light for my liking. All about dark jeans bruv with fresh white creps.
Nah, Sneijder can fit perfectly in midfield, sit deep and ping the ball around, can get in the box late, can hit them from range and hes a dead ball specilist which we havent had since Beckham left. Sneijder can play like Scholes when he was mid 20's.
Why are you all thinking replace Scholes with someone who plays like Scholes did that last two seasons??
Why not replace with a player who plays like Scholes when he was 26.
Also why replace?? Get a quality signing and ajust. Like when Valencia was signed for the right wing, SAF said hes not replacing Ronaldo, hes signed a good player and will ajust our play accordingly.

Mighty as long as the clothes are comfortable you don't really need to buy expensive ones.

Re: Furious League - Homepage 5
I think if you have the chance to sign someone like Sneijder then you've got to take it. He is a World Class CM, which is not the type of player that comes along very often.
I agree with Viva that you have more of a need for a Roy Keane type player who will dominate the midfield, but I don't think money is an issue and why miss out on that quality. Why not get both?
And it can't be serious to say "let's not stretch ourselves to buy Sneijder, we have Cleverly, Anderson, Pogba"?!
And there's Everton thinking, we can sell Yobo and free up £2m for the kitty.

I see where you are coming from Afro when a world class player is available you should take it with both hands, I'm just a bit dissapointed that it's over wages. But you have to remember todays game is all about money.
I was just going to mention FootballCrazy and CaptainUnited, yo Nick you can't be having them two in the league. They drive me mad, join our league pretend they have exams and join another league.

Re: Furious League - Homepage 5
Afro, we had the chance. If we wont budge on contract demands then im with SAF, Flip him.
Why should we cave into a players wage demands when we have enough talent coming through in that position. We had a great pre season witout Sneijder. We dominated and took apart Man City easy enough without Sneijder.
Yeah some interest. But not enough and its going to be tough to do.
Im considering quitting Tottenahm BTW. Thinking of doing what Smarts did, not have a team but just hang around for the laugh.
