Re: Rangers News
Unfortunately Green took over and it's up to him what to do now. It's strange to think of a team taking a season out i'm not sure if that's happenend before. With the money that can be made/lossed i don't think that would be a possibility.
In regards to the sponsers i'm not sure what the situation is but there doesn't seem to be any change at the moment.

Do you have any idea why rangers have rushed to get back into the league this season as opposed to waiting until a more sustainable operation could have been set up in a years time? By waiting it could have been possible to resurrect a club totally owned by the fans without having to pander to the whims of mr green.
Do you know if anyone will actually sponsor a club which is rangers only in name and nothing else? Even then they are actually called sevco or something.
What's this boy green done btw, except be the only one who has put up any hard cash? Where would rangers be without him because smith and the rest of the 'legends' didn't want there hands dirty? John brown running his mouth off with 40 grand in his erse pocket is simply laughable.

You keep telling yourself that...
It's a new club. Why is Green trying to name the club "The Rangers". If it wasn't a new club they would have the same name no?

But they're not called Sevco 5088 that is what his company is called, they aren't going to be called Sevco 5088.

Spin it any way you like, fact is one day they had millions of debt, next day nothing. Club died, will always be known as a new club outwith Sevco fans.

It's pretty simple Duncan, nobody is spinning anything, Sevco is the company Green formed to take over Rangers. It is not what Rangers are called.

I honestly thought that renaming the club would have been a priority but obviously not. They are just down as Rangers in the cup draw.

Former Hearts pair Ian Black and Craig Beattie to train with Rangers
Former Hearts players Craig Beattie and Ian Black are to train with Rangers this week, STV has learned.
The pair will join up with Ally McCoist’s squad at Murray Park on Tuesday, as the club awaits confirmation it will be granted membership of the Scottish FA to play fixtures.
Black had previously agreed a deal to sign for the club, before the Scottish Football League decided to admit Sevco Scotland Limited into the Third Division for the forthcoming campaign.
The player again stated his desire to play for the club in the bottom tier, if a satisfactory offer was tabled.
Beattie meanwhile is without a club having left Hearts in the summer, winning the Scottish Cup with the Gorgie side during a short-term stay.
The former Celtic man played as a youth player at Ibrox, before going on to play at Parkhead and then West Bromwich Albion, Preston North End, Crystal Palace, Sheffield United, Swansea City and Watford.
A decision is expected shortly from the Scottish FA over whether to transfer Rangers’ membership to Charles Green’s company, with talks ongoing between the two parties.
Rangers are due to face Brechin City this Sunday in a sell-out Ramsdens Cup clash.

Re: Rangers News
Striker Andy Little agrees terms for Ibrox return
Northern Ireland striker Andy Little is poised to sign for the new Rangers, according to the Ibrox club's website
The 23-year-old, who came through the former club's youth ranks but was on loan to Port Vale last year, was out of contract at the end of last season.
But Charles Green, chief executive of parent company Sevco, told the club website: "Andrew Little is coming back to the club.
Rangers are in negotiations to secure membership of the Scottish Football Association, which is required to allow the new club to start the season against Brechin City in the Ramsden's Cup on Saturday.
And manager Ally McCoist hopes the Northern Irishman can go straight into his first-team plans.
The news came as former Hearts players Ian Black and Craig Beattie trained with Rangers with a view to signing contracts .
"Alastair has a list of players and he has been speaking to some of them," said Green.
"Obviously, until we have SFA membership, he can't sign any of them.
"He has two or three he wants to bring in this week and start training with the squad."
Green was delighted that Little was returning, claiming that the striker was wanted by other clubs.
"We have a number of other targets lined up and it's up to Ally to decide," he said.
"He picks the ones on the field and I pick the ones in the office.
"The difficulty we have is that we are playing in the Third Division.
"Some of our senior players have agreed to stay with us and that's really commendable, because you couldn't blame them for picking up their bags and going elsewhere.
"For Alastair now, the balance is getting the players in that can play in the Third Division but can also move forward as the club moves forward."

Re: Rangers News
It seems Rangers new owner is lying again. Reports say Rangers are still along way from agreeing terms to enter the league. What happens to the club if they refuse to agree to being stripped of titles etc? Surely they are no position to make demands? Would they have to apply to non league football?

Take a year out and let Scottish football get on with it without them see how they get on. Bit of a gamble and deep pockets required of the investors but they could use Ibrox for rock concerts, organise bounce games (like/similar to the Rangers Legends against A.C. Milan Glorie a few weeks back). If after a year the rest of Scottish football was still up its own vindictive arse then look to the Conference.
I can understand the irresistible urge to kick an ailing beast when it's down but there comes a point where enough is enough and it passed quite some time ago, the people still kicking are those who would never want Rangers to ever recover in any form. It's time for Rangers to draw a line in the sand, stand up and say...ENOUGH...10 points, loss of Champions league place, loss of European football for 3 years, £160000 fine, demotion to Div 3, one year signing ban.....and that's not enough?? I only wish the incompetent choobs that negotiated the last few domestic TV deals with Sky had had as much unbridled determination in them during negotiation. Scottish football really is beginning to show the rest of the football world what a petty little cesspit it really is.
One thing the football authorities could have done that would have shown a bit of maturity and progressive thinking was...Murray Park. They could have demanded that Rangers open up Murray park for use by all teams so that they could all benefit from it.

No.
10pts: Rules for going into administration
Ch League/Euro football: Rule by UEFA for change in legal status.
Div3: They were not demoted. They were accepted into the 3rd. Technically they should be nowhere near the 3rd.
160k fine: Has anyone actually paid this?
Signing ban: Been adjusted to suit Newco so they can sign players.
They have got off with very little sanctions imo.
They brought the game into disrepute by taking the sanctions to court. They need extra punishment for this. They are trying to negotiate their own punishment, trying to get the dual contracts dropped. This all needs to be thoroughly investigated. Titles must be stripped, any other sanctions applied. Them trying to get the investigation dropped suggests they are guilty anyway.

I have been reading this thread with great intrigue and I must say that this is the sensible post on here.
Some people need to realise that when irresponsible and illegal acts are carried out by board members, they should personally be held responsible. Such is the way of the PLC/LTD by where they can walk away from the carwreck relatively unscathed and yet the players and fans are the ones that suffer and help pick up the pieces.
I just hope for Footballs sake that FIFA/UEFA can place further sanctions on due dilligences of takeovers or how clubs are run.

Re: Rangers News
Would a year out of football really be sustainable for Rangers? Would players/staff accept it? Could they afford it?
Why are Rangers demanding the investigation into players contracts be dropped? Surely this is a seperate offence that carries its own punishment? Rangers have been punished so far but only because of repeated offences of their own doing? Those that were in charge of the prevous regimes should be brought to justice. They are clearly unfit to run a business or club of any kind.
It seems to be a game of poker between Rangers and the rest of Scottish Football. Rangers are banking on themselves being too big and too important for Scottish Football to survive without them. The rest of Scottish Football seem to be intent on sending the message that they are not.

Seems like Alan McGregor is about to secure a move to 13 time Turkish Super Liga winners Besiktas. Where this get's interesting is the fact they are in around 200 million euros of debt, which is even worse than Rangers and have thus been banned from Europe this season.

No problem. His medical is today.
They have the likes of Quaresma and Almeida on 70 odd grand a week apparently, you'd think they'd look to sell but it doesn't seem that way. Apparently Fenerbache looked at him just before he went to Besiktas today but no luck there.

PRESS STATEMENT
« backall articles »
Friday 27th July 2012
Joint statement on behalf of The Scottish FA, The Scottish Premier League, The Scottish Football League and Sevco Scotland Ltd.
We are pleased to confirm that agreement has been reached on all outstanding points relating to the transfer of the Scottish FA membership between Rangers FC (In Administration), and Sevco Scotland Ltd, who will be the new owners of The Rangers Football Club.
A conditional membership will be issued to Sevco Scotland Ltd today, allowing Sunday’s Ramsdens Cup tie against Brechin City to go ahead.
Following the completion of all legal documentation, the Scottish Premier League will conduct the formal transfer of the league share between RFC (IA) and Dundee FC on no later than Friday 3rd August 2012. At this point, the transfer of Scottish FA membership will be complete.
Key points:
- The Scottish FA has received all necessary information and documentation from Sevco Scotland Ltd, including details of the company structure, shareholders, financial projections and business plan.
- Sevco Scotland Ltd has agreed to accept all conditions relating to RFC (IA)'s charges of bringing the game into disrepute, namely the 12-month transfer embargo, beginning at 0.01a.m on 1st September 2012, and payment of all outstanding fines and costs.
- Sevco Scotland Ltd has agreed to settle all outstanding football debts to other members of the Scottish FA plus clubs under the jurisdiction of other Football Associations.
- The Scottish Premier League and Scottish Football League have reached agreement on the purchase of a package of broadcasting rights which will allow the former to include The Rangers FC matches in contracts with broadcast partners.
- The Scottish Premier League has reserved its position in relation to the on-going investigation into EBTs.
Stewart Regan, Chief Executive of the Scottish FA: “We are pleased for everyone involved in this process, and indeed the whole of Scottish football, that a conclusion has been reached.
“There were a number of complex and challenging issues involved but, primarily, the Scottish FA had to be satisfied that the new owners of Rangers would operate in the best interests of the club, its fans and Scottish football in general.
“We have reached agreement on all terms and conditions attached to the transfer of membership and are able to grant conditional membership, ahead of the formal transfer of the SPL share a week today. This will allow the season to kick-off as planned this weekend and I am sure there will be many who will join me in welcoming the start of the new football season in Scotland.
“This has been a difficult period for Scottish football, but with this agreement now in place, and with the new season upon us, it is essential that we all focus our energies on football once again. In the months ahead, the Scottish FA will resume discussions on the subject of league reconstruction. We remain committed to this process in order to re-energise the national game and will work closely with the SPL, SFL and all other relevant affiliated bodies to provide a dynamic product appealing to our supporters."
Charles Green, Chief Executive of The Rangers Football Club, said “The agreement signed today allows Rangers to be granted membership by the SFA and finally enables the Club to move forward.
“The Board, the Manager and senior executives have been working tirelessly over the last few weeks to secure the future of the Club and today is the start of that process.
“The Board has had to take some very difficult decisions to gain SFA membership, including accepting the delayed transfer ban and paying outstanding financial penalties. But we are now able to get back to playing football and plan for the new season, starting this Sunday with our match against Brechin.
“There remains, however, an outstanding issue with the SPL regarding EBTs. As we have proved in the last couple of months we will stand up to any challenges that face Rangers and will continue to fight for the Club’s best interests.”
Neil Doncaster, Chief Executive of the SPL: "We are pleased to have reached an agreement with the parties concerned. Discussions will now continue with our broadcast partners and we expect to be in a position to make a further announcement next week on broadcasting rights and the on-going EBT investigation."
Jim Ballantyne, President of the SFL: "Current events have thrown up some serious challenges to Scottish football and the SFL has played its part in trying to navigate through to a solution in difficult circumstances.
“I am now looking forward to doing what we are actually here to do. To play football."

Ian Black's signed a 3 year contract although it can't be rubber stamped until next Friday, he can play as a trialist at Brechin City tomorrow in the Ramsdens Cup, good signing for that level and will be a major player at least until Newco RFC get back into the SPL

Re: Rangers News
If all rumours and players linked with we could have a team of
-------------------Alexander----------------
broadfoot ---- Perry---McCulloch---Wallace
Shiels --- Black ---- Hutton --- Teale
--------------Little-------Beattie---------
Obviously this is dependent on players that are training signing with rangers signing. and i am assuming they may actually jig stuff about so McCulloch is in midfield or up front.
If i was McCoist and rangers i would use the opportunity to get the youth team involved, keep the first team and start signing youth players who will play and have the ability to develop into SPL players
They will never have a better opportunity to get the youth system working with so little risk.

Re: Rangers News
Yes sorry, i meant that as a starting point of a team, that should be good enough to get to first division easily. So we shouldn't need to sign anyone anyway. And so can concentrate fully on youth
There is a decent nucleus that we can intermingle with the youth, to get a team that should get us up the leagues while preparing for the future
As the players would have been loaned out to second/third division sides anyway if we where in SPL. seems silly if we don't play them

So what are our predictions for today's match
I reckon 2-1 rangers,
I think we will struggle to a victory today

Bonanza cash replay at Ibrox then Galveston.
I would charge them with playing against the spirit of the game. [If I were the SFA] !!
