It's my pleasure to announce that Canterbury of New Zealand have chosen a winner in our "I love rugby because ... " quote competition. So congratulations mckay1402, for his quote:

I love rugby because even with all the pride and passion on the pitch we can still have a beer together afterwards.

Mckay will receive the official Russia Rugby World Cup 2011 Test Jersey manufactured by CCC, and signed by the team.

Runner up (sorry no prize, but some reflected glory and bragging rights) went to Bathman in London with

I love rugby because.... of the mutual respect between players and fans around the world, despite what happens on the pitch

I'd like to thank Canterbury for both providing the prize and judging the competition. After the unfortunate incident at Wembley Tuesday night CCC felt that both the winning and runner up entries had an extra poignancy, and that they highlighted one of the best things about rugby culture globally.

True, but I missed out on the prem final last year and a signed shirt when I finshed Globle runner up, I didn't even recieve an email saying well played mate but hard luck.
