If you want to talk movie scores there aren't much better than John Williams' Star Wars score.

Mighty Wings - Cheap Trick (Top Gun)
Echelon - 30 Seconds To Mars (The Core)
Who Wants to Live Forever - Queen (Highlander)
One Vision - Queen (Iron Eagle)
Ghostbusters - Ray Parker Jr (Ghostbusters)

La Bamba - Los Lobos (La Bamba)
You Could Be Mine - Guns 'n' Roses (Terminator 2)

As much of a naff film as it is, I love Hackers.
The soundtrack on that fits it perfectly too.

It's T2.

Well as this was the song cover:
I reckon that's pretty much nailed on it being T2.

Re: Movie Songs
When it comes to films, I really like the instrumental stuff that Thomas Newman does. His most famous film music is probably American Beauty, which is lovely, but he's done lots of other well known films for years. Gabriel Yared's music for Betty Blue is lush as well.
As for songs used in films my favourites off the top of my head would probably be:
Simple Minds - Don't You Forget About Me (The Breakfast Club)
Bruce Springsteen - Dead Man Walking (Dead Man Walking)
Honeyroot - Love Will Tear Us Apart (Red Road)
The Commitments - Dark End of the Street (The Commitments)
Aretha Franklin - Think (The Blues Brothers)
Gavin Clarke - Never Seen The Sea (This Is England)
New Order - Temptation (Trainspotting)
Leftfield - Shallow Grave (Shallow Grave)
Madonna - Into The Groove (Desperately Seeking Susan)

Just remembered these as well...
Blaze of Glory - Bon Jovi (Young Guns)
Doubleback - ZZ Top (Back To The Future III)
In The Air Tonight - Nonpoint (Miami Vice)
The Living Daylights - A-Ha (The Living Daylights)
Would it be bad form to mention:
Everything I Do (I Do It For You) - Bryan Adams (Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves)?

Do you do the version from a few years ago and make the sound of crazy frog over the top of it?

Blasphemy
Even thought that Frog is animated...it deserves to be shot...along with everyone that was involved in creating it.

I may be wrong about this but I think you are confused.
Paint it Black was the theme tune to the Vietnam TV series called "Tour of Duty"
It might have been on FMJ as well but for me its forever tied to that great series.
