We will vote on which team we think would win out of the two lineups.

I will post the pitch conditions for each match on Thursday. Tactics due by Sat at Midnight. Voting is then open from then until Tuesday at noon.

I will then work out the average and that side will get the 2 points for a win.

I will also be drawing injuries for each side per week

Nah we should do it openly. That way you have to explain your prediction, and can't just vote someone to lose because you don't like them Wink

We are all mature enough here to vote as we would see it going, and we all know enough about cricket to know that certain sides would be better in certain conditions than others.

It needs to be transparent and open, so that we can see that there is valid reasoning behind each persons vote.

Gregers mate rather than you giving injuries i think you should make a stipulation that each player can play only 8 out of the 9 matches. This would make this comp more tactical.A coach would have to decide against which side does he need a particular player more.Injuries could affect the balance of the side adversely. This idea of mine would be better as its tactical.

I like that idea mate. Maybe make it 8 out of 10 games?

And I was thinking about having a rule that all of your overseas players must play at least once (or maybe twice) in the group stages.
Thoughts?

I think a coach should be nominate one player who can play all the matches and 4 others who can play 9 matches. The rest can only play 8 matches.

Thoughts?

i think having each overseas player playing 2 matches might be a bit too much.

This is made even more confusing, 6 indians in a line-up, 4 U25's, now only 1 player who can play all the matches?

mate this is a tactical comp.If there is no such rule, then the team with the best first XI will win the tournament everytime. This comp is meant to test our tactics.

I'm sorry but continually implementing new rules is just making matters even more confusing, I thought we'd all settled on a system that works well?

It's ment to be a bit of fun, nothing serious. The side with the best XI on certain conditions should win.

just think about it mate, this rule is better coz the coach can decide which game a player sits out of.Otherwise if Gregers gives an injury to a particular player when you need him the most it could affect the team adversely.

Right well would a 'gentlemens' agreement that you cannot pick the same 11 every week work?

That way its at the discretion of each of us to look at the pitch conditions and also what we believe the opposition to be weak against and pick an 11 to beat them.

All I'm interested in is making sure that the teams aren't the same every week.

Basically yes Shanky. As in you must make a change every week to you playing XI.

Pitch conditions should force that anyways.

If everyone is happy with that then it means that we don't need to do injuries, nominations or anything else

yeah I think not playing the same XI every week works, it just gets too confusing if we have say one guy who can play all the matches, a further few who can play all but one, and the rest need to sit out at least two. I agree that it's not great if we just pick the same XI week in week out, but let's not make this too complicated...
