Have to keep reminding myself that your support is from a unique perspective as you'll not often see many Kiwi's saying the Ozzies deserve this one.
Their campaign is so thus far...
- Grossly underestimated Samoa and got pummelled. These matches are not friendly's as Oz and NZ don't play friendlies. This was reflected by the outrage of both media and fans towards the players and coach.
- Then they got their main players and beat a SA2 team, suddenly transforming into a team that could beat any team in the world on a regular basis with Cooper, fans, the press and even former players going on about NZ being past it, old and so on.
- Then they got beaten by NZ at Eden Park, Cooper particularly having a poor one by his standards.
-Then they went to SA with their full team knowing they needed to win to have any chance of winning the 3N and to regain the faith of the Oz rugby following 2 losses which beforehand they seemed to think they would win.
- Then they won well in an excellent performance against SA.
-Now theyre back in Oz, smashing eachother up in training, presumably as a response to the 2 losses in which they were out muscled and fpr some reason have a media response that is all about how they respect the All Blacks, all talk of lapping it up at Suncorp seemingly gone, a venue the AB's have always won at.
And on top of all this, theyve sacked their captain and have to put one of their main strikers on the naughty seat this week for getting P^%&sd and not turning up for an official engagement.
The reason they had to front with their main team is because thats all they have- Samoa proved that. Any B team against NZ or SA would have been dealt to in a big way.
Sorry Alan, but I just can't agree with your deserves to win comment because all I see is a team in disarray, they dont know what to do or say from one week to the next, and although they may win this weekend, they'll deserve it then, and only then.

Apparently there is a shadow squad in place to cover injuries in the RWC and a specialist 7 is on standby.
Hosea Gear apparently is now likely to go overseas now, only 3 players are now off contact post RWC.
Him,Sonny Boy Williams, and Cory Jane,[both these were rumoured moving overseas too]
Finally IF they can risk the full squad versus OZ why not against the Boks.?
Cos the Bok game was not a decider and the one this week is.

Afoa over Franks because GH obviously doesn't rate the Wallaby scrum to be up to much, and Afoa has a higher work rate away from the set piece.
SBW because he has been getting progressively worse since the S15 knock out. (Did Ramadan start then?)

No, I am sure GH doesn't rate the OZ scrum given how well the AB scrum went against them in the last test....

Agree that they do not deserve to win it based on what has happened to date. They have been fight a number of battles:
- inconsistent performances
- Sacking Elsom
- Dropping Giteau
- O'Connor's selfish display
- the "incident" in Paris
- players getting injured at training
Have all been major distractions - it seems they have spent more time in media conferences hosing down fires than they have on the training paddock. I am sure Deans thinks the preparation has been a nightmare. If they manage a win this week , they will have overcome a lot and only then they will have deserved it.

Sounds like a good basis for a movie if the w's win the wcup.
Kind of a cross between mad max 5 and a last tango in paris.
Has all the right ingredients. The villains in GH and barnes and mccaws savages. The flawed heros in max 'oconnor' and gyro genia - head butted out of the movie by samo the warrior legend, back from the mists of time. "The incident in paris'.
All done under the narrative of the grey ghost.
Definitely one for tarantino.

Sorry GG i don`t do wums, back to seriousness. On Saturday we have the
3Ns final.Unlike some here I take nothing for granted,Horwill as Captain.no problem.Elsom has proved indecisive in the role, they have beefed up there pack in Front, and second rows. They now have a solid Scrum and lineout,
Elsom aside they have a good back row[Elsom getting over injuries due a big game.]
The backs will be re-arranged and Cooper will be out to prove a point.
If Genia starts he may feel the results of the head bangs, used to be at least a week off for what he has received.
Expect targetting of Weepu/Carter bombarded by high balls and multiple hits by forwards trying to take them out of the game.
NZ fielding nearly the strongest available starting lineup,Thomson starting
for Kaino[on maternity leave].Is a strong lineout option, and 6 is his natural position.Woodcock just out of his moon boot hope he makes the whole 80.
The AB bench is pretty weak,Hore,Williams,Vito ok,Afoa as back up prop [oops!!!],Ellis,Slade and Toeva[covering 10,12,13,14,15 between them].
OZ have home advantage, are rested, and have`nt had to fly half way around the World.
BUT the All Blacks have won there last 3 matches there ,close one less than 10 either way.

Hi Alan,
I think this week is very much about composure and preparation as well. AB's have come in more settled and are working to a plan. Oz are kind of all over the place with external issues and seem to be trying to catch up with the bashing techniques deployed against them in their two losses- by bashing each other around all week- whats that about?.
I like the Samo introduction. Hes a beast isn't he? Scary for the Reds.
Gonna be great and back at Suncorp and the home of Brad Thorn!

Hi,Taylorman but don`t expect another Eden park, can`t see them getting
a 17 point start in 20 minutes.Nor so many goal kicks missed.
That was just one of those matches every thing you try comes off, does happen often.
To be honest I`ll be glad when the RWC starts seems like the build up is going on forever this year.
I hate the things for reasons I won`t repeat one someone does`nt make the squad.IT`s all i`m looking at my options moving abroad etc.,like kids who have had there favourite toy pinched.
BUT when it starts i`ll enjoy watching it,looking for the minnows and how they go,Japan look really tasty.
Love the Rugby, hate the ho-hah and bull s**t

Australia will miss Justin bieber OConner. I hope she was really good looking cause Rob as you say it was a pretty selfish thing he did.
As for Giteau, my sources in the Oz camp have always said he is a pretty self absorbed guy aswell and I actually think Oz will do grand without him cause he is not really a team player.
Paddy power are offering 13/2 on Aus to win which is ridiculously long odds given that it's in Brisbane. Maybe worth a punt but NZ are obviously favourites and Barnes will be overcompensating in NZs favour even more than refs usually do.

Surely GG the real question is will any ref at the WC have the guts to make the 50/50 call against NZ that results in them getting knocked out. After burning effigies of WB the last time surely they will ALL be too s*** scared to get it 'wrong' and will therefore always come down on the side of the AB's.

To be honest then the teams should have been Chicago and New York as the Yanks wouldn't know where NZ or SA is. Probably why the USA team declined the waka ride in Wanganui first-they must have put a GPS in it to appease them.
Actually forgot something about Henry's excuses for last time-he didn't have any. Won the de Coubertin medal for walking into the Frogs' dressing room and congratulating them, then not saying anything afterwards.

Yes but at least the players and management take the blame themselves and don't try to convince everyone they lost because of being poisoned or a refs decision etc.

See above. Plus it's a bit rich after the Lions series in 05, where everyone tried to blame getting absolutely towelled 3-zip on one reckless clean out. O'Driscoll wouldn't have made a blind bit of difference.

Graham Henry did a ridiculous amount of moaning post 07 WC about the way rugby was played and was influential in getting the rules changed to suit the ABs. Plus kiwi fans are still moaning about Barnes like he is the real reason the ABs got knocked out.

Interpretations not rules. Ireland are an expansive team so it would suit them, and also France who knocked us out so I don't see the point. Rugby's a ball in hand game predominantly and I don't see the wrong in encouraging running rugby I don't care who it suits. A lot of people whose teams play different approaches would agree as it is better to watch and if they have aspirations about being the best in the world then they will need to play in different fashions, including expansively.
