because johnson, is the sort of pace you need on them pitches, copeland just sits up, johnson is rapid, johsnon also reverse swings the ball, on them pitches he is a threat.

Lets see as both will almost certainly play in any case.cricketfan90 wrote:because johnson, is the sort of pace you need on them pitches, copeland just sits up, johnson is rapid, johsnon also reverse swings the ball, on them pitches he is a threat.

Harris could be out of next one with a niggly hamstring. A pity, he has bowled well in this series so far.

if harris is out, then 2 spinners should play.

Harris seems to have a real problem with injuries. Shame as he's a fine bowler...

he has been very unlucky over the years with injury, but i do feel that if he is to miss out a 2nd spinner has to come in.

cf have you ever seen a match played at the SSC in Columbo? The spinners would leave Australia exposed if they bowl first. SSC is the flattest wicket in SL, but reserve swing is available. If Harris is injured then another seamer has to be picked.

Re: Sri Lanka vs Australia 2nd test match thread
watson can play as the 3rd seamer, he has been quality in this series, and he reverses the ball, and hussey can be used if needed, he has showed he is no mug with the ball

Re: Sri Lanka vs Australia 2nd test match thread
Whilst Watson has bowled well, the extra bowling has hindered his batting. He's a good 4th seamer, but I would never have him as 3rd seamer, purely due to his previous history of injuries. SSC is too flat for someone like Hussey to bowl on(he'll probably get a 5 fer now!!!).cricketfan90 wrote:watson can play as the 3rd seamer, he has been quality in this series, and he reverses the ball, and hussey can be used if needed, he has showed he is no mug with the ball
Michael Clarke should bowl more, he's probably as good as Michael Beer.

If Hauritz was playing, then I'd play Beer as well. Playing two rookie spinners is dangerous, even against an SL side low on confidence.cricketfan90 wrote:beer and lyon should both be playing imo

Re: Sri Lanka vs Australia 2nd test match thread
i think thats bad on both parts from ausssies..
i would have given ponting the last game off, to be with his wife and child, and also i would have played the 2nd spinner if harris wasnt gonna be fit.
